Thanks Ken,

I was one of those people that thought I would be bored to death on a cruise, was I ever wrong. Sounds like, as you say, there will be more than enough to occupy our time.

On our cruise last May I got Don (Ducky) Williams’ Castaway Cay litho’s. I am running out of wall space at home for such items, our house is starting to look like the Adventures Club. Not that, that is a bad thing.

Sounds like we will have to plan for fragile items in the luggage, as well as the shipping home of various items. I hate the baggage weight limits these days.

I hope the shock of reality is not too harsh,

For those of you concerned about what to do for all those days at sea, my son and I are planning to bring some poker chips and several decks of cards hoping we might start a small tournament with other interested parties. If anyone might be interested in this or just joining in for a few hands of draw or seven card stud let us know. We can play Texas Hold 'em, too. We're not very good but we enjoy playing very much...Wes

Hey that sounds like fun. I'm not much of a player as I justed started about three weeks ago playing the free on-line games but this could be a great way to meet some new friends and spend some time.

Poker? I'll give it a try, but have never played. Many months ago on this thread there was some discussion about everyone bringing a board game of sorts so we could all have some fun playing in sessions. There was mention of "drunken twister" LOL and cranium. I have been looking into purchasing "passout" I found an online game place where they sell it. If the interest sparks up again, I will go ahead and get it.

Scott, I hear you on the luggage issue. That is one of the reasons I decided to fly Jet Blue, they allow 3 checked bags up to 70 pounds each. We will be spending a week in LA after the cruise, so that will be 3 weeks of clothes plus all the souvenir purchases along the way. Thanks for the idea of shipping some stuff home, that will work nicely.

More snow again here tonight, I am more than ready for this cruise!

I don't know. I did a Google search on "drunken twister" and some of the results were kinda of scarey.
I don't know if I have ever played "Passout". I think I have seen it at Spencers'. How is it played? Or does the name say it all. :earboy2:

Pass-Out

The all-time classic drinking game is back! The hilarious game where players travel around the board, taking drinks and reciting tongue twisters. Winners love the game, but losers have all the fun! For Ages 21 & Up.

:earboy2:

I'm all for Drunken Twister, esp during high seas.... I figure we can use the front end of deck 10 or something

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE MAGIC STAYS ON THE MAGIC!!!

Just got home from the 10 day, now I can focus on the 14 day.

Had a great time, just like Leslie said (and Ken too!) Everyone was great. Can't wait to get back together again.

The 10 day definitely created some new challenges for DCL. Brent (current cruise director) said they will be working on fixing those challenges before our 14 day cruise. Julie will be back as the cruise director and Brent will be assistant cd.

Yeah....right on the scrapbook.......first got to get 10 loads of laundry done. I swear, we took way too many clothes!

Okay, got to get to bed!

Linda

Is that where the Bball court is? Maybe we can use that.....those nets could come in REAL handy!!!! :jumping1:

Actually having cruised DCL many times, including one 14 day back to back, I can tell you there is never a time when there is nothing to do. The poker games and a casino game we play call "Let It Ride" will be a lot of fun. As to the more exotic games like drunken twister and the others, well, I'll leave that to the imagination until we actually set sail. Foremost, however, as adults I agree with the above statement: "What happens on the Magic stays on the Magic" ! Wes

After reading Linda’s post about getting a litho:
1. How Kewl to get a litho done for our cruise, wow that is neat.

2. I am going to pack a heavy duty mailing tube to carry that plunder home. I remember on the inaugural Wester we got some pretty neat paper stuff.

Do we have a chiropractor traveling with us for the “Twister” game? Jen is a nurse and I was a paramedic( not current now) Wes is a MD, so that contingency is covered.

Hello Everyone!
Scott... GREAT idea with the mailing tube. We were parked at the Port this time so carrying the litho off wasn't a problem... but I wondered how everyone who was having to fly would get that bugger home without ruining it. Adding tube to the packing list....
Joe (DH) is a paramedic and professor of Emergency Medical sciences so we have that covered. He's also a certified Firefighter if anyone happens spontaneously combust from all that alcohol.

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE MAGIC.... STAYS ON THE MAGIC... I LOVE IT!
That is my new mantra.........:cool1:

I think I will just leave all the clothes from the Holiday cruise packed and send them out to the ship laundry when we get back on in May...:earseek:

I like the sound of that. Haven't I heard something like that somewhere before? :earboy2:

Welcome back to all you lucky 10 day cruisers!!!

The mailing tube is a great idea!!! What size was the litho?
:wizard: Size of the litho was approx 16x20... but that's a guess since DH unpacked the car and I have no idea where it is at the moment!! VERY nice litho.. I'll post a pic of it later if someone else hasn't by the time I find it.

Let me just say that Pirate Night was a blast!! We intend to get even more Pirate garb in time for the PC cruise... Arrrrgh!

Hi all. I'm back at work today after 10 days on the Magic - I agree with Ken, Linda, and DisneyPinDiva - lots to do during the whole cruise and not enough time to do it all!

In all, I think we had four new menus on the 10-day. We were able to keep the menus from each of them, so if Ken doesn't post them all, I can try to get them up on the boards.

The Pirates in the Caribbean party was a blast! A new DCL first, they had a pirate rapel from stack to stack during the party. Then they set off the fireworks from the roof of Palo over the port side of the ship. It was one of the true highlights of the cruise for me!!

One thing I learned from the entertainment staff is that most if not all of them will not be on this May repo cruise. Seems that their contracts put them on vacation for this cruise! Too bad, because Travis and Karen were especially fun.

Castaway Cay looked a bit beat up, but we also almost didn't make it into port either. They experience gale force winds the night before we docked. One beach was closed, and we were not allowed into the water on the family or teen beaches - preditor netting was damaged. They cancelled all excursions on the island except bike rentals and float rentals. Winds were strong and temp was cool (about 71), so DCL was good and opened Parrot Cay on the ship, added extra movie showings, opened the Oceanneers Club, etc.

Loved meeting all the DISers on the ship! Linda, we got the camera in St. Thomas - Thanks a ton for letting me play with yours as we pulled into St. Lucia.

Got to get back to work for now.

Cheers, Kara
