if that wording is in there for 2011, I'd say be prepared for the non-Disney owned places to strictly interpret "one serving" as one serving, no refills. We've already seen that several times this year. Via Napoli (twice) and Yak & Yeti (once) this year has told us there are no refills on the soda, coffee or tea. Both places, the waiters explained the dining plan "only covered one beverage per person" so that's what we would get...one beverage, not unlimited refills. They did agree that our ice water (tap water) could be refilled, but actually never managed to get back and refill it.
So I guess in 2012 you might want to ask for your beverage without ice (the English way). And then get a cup of ice. That would be like 2 servings. Hopefully this isn't something that will be commonplace around WDW.
Do you KNOW what you just started? LOL It's the buy a double cheeseburger and get an extra bun debate all over again!
WOW! So if you want a soda refill, you have to pay? Is it the full price of a drink? Do you have to pay for each refill or once you "buy" a non DPP drink does it come with free refills?
It seems to depend on the server. We were not charged for refills at either of the restaurants Catne mentioned, but we were told "no refills" at Tutto Italia several years ago.
I think the "one single serving" wording is there mainly to exclude things like French press coffee, rather than to exclude refills on drinks that normally have "free refill" policies.
A lot depends on your region. (And your definition of "more modern" )Is it just me, or are "free refills" a more modern trend. Does seem that most restaurants these days offer free refills. But it seems that until recently, there was an expectation to pay for every refill at most restaurants.
Good heavens. We ate at Yak & Yeti TS on a hot afternoon a few months ago and I don't want to even THINK about how many times the server came by, smiled, and refilled my iced tea. Did I mention that it was really, really hot? We were on the DDP and there was no extra cash charge for it.
