"For 2,000+ Mile Round-Trip Drivers Only!" (Part V)

Is that “inland” route too far west for me over in south Jersey? We always take 95 and hate it, but we don’t know any other way to go. We are literally almost right next to 95. It takes us about 25 minutes down 295 south to get to the Delaware Memorial Bridge, which is when we hop on 95...

    For those folks driving!

It kind of sucks leaving the day after Thanksgiving, especially if you are hosting. Trying to get to bed earlier after a long day before having to wake up so early. We drive straight through on the way down and usually spend the night at a hotel about an hour outside of Disney (cheaper), then we...

    For those folks driving!

We have made that drive several times. But not on Saturday, always that Friday (day after Thanksgiving) We usually leave about 3-4am (we are coming from Camden County NJ, about 20-30 mins from the Delaware Memorial Bridge) This gets us through any early morning traffic in the big cities. We have...

    All about the Autotrain

I agree. I was hoping to give my kids the same experience I had on the AT when I was young. Sadly, the prices are just so outrageous, we just haven’t been able to do it. We still drive from NJ to Disney when we go, but it would be nice to go on the AT at least once. For our next trip we did talk...

"For 2,000+ Mile Round-Trip Drivers Only!" (Part V)

We have driven to Florida from NJ 4 times, 3 of those times to Disney, and 3 of those times with 2 kids. The first time we did it with kids, my youngest was 5 and my oldest was 7. So far, driving down, we drive straight through. We always say we are going to stop, but my husband (who does almost...

"For 2,000+ Mile Round-Trip Drivers Only!" (Part V)

Hi! We just had the trip down & back 95 from NJ the week after Thanksgiving. As for pit stops...we stuck to the chain gas stations. Tried to hit Wawa’s as much as possible, until they didn’t exist any longer. Lol! Bathrooms were very clean whenever we stopped. If it looked sketchy, we would just...

"For 2,000+ Mile Round-Trip Drivers Only!" (Part V)

Good Morning everyone! Sorry I never updated since our arrival to Florida. We drove straight through from NJ, left around 5:30 am and arrived to our hotel around 8:45 pm. We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Apopka, FL our first night. E then checked into Pop Century for two nights, before...

Hi all! I will update soon, but wanted to come on to see if anyone can recommend a hotel in Fayetteville, NC off I-95? We are stopping there for the night. I’ve been reading reviews on a few and of course they are all over the place, good or bad! Lol! Thanks!

"For 2,000+ Mile Round-Trip Drivers Only!" (Part V)

Just an update on my previous post. It is currently 5:20pm and we are in Georgia, exit 49. We did hit a small traffic jam on I-95 in NC at exit 58 due to an accident. It cleared fairly quick and has been great since. We are expected to be at our hotel (45 mins outside of Disney) around 8:00 or...

"For 2,000+ Mile Round-Trip Drivers Only!" (Part V)

Currently in the car (from NJ) on the way to our happy place!! We left a lot later than we originally planned though. We wanted to leave by 4am, but didn’t get on the road until 5:30am. Making good time though. We stopped once so far for gas near Fredericksburg, VA. Stopped at a Wawa to fill up...

    Anyone drive I-95 recently?

This is good to know! Thank you! I do have the iExit app and love it! I too wonder how accurate some things on the google app are regarding what’s opened and what not. Hopefully we won’t have to stop all that often, but I will have two kids (8 & 10) with us so...Lol!

    Anyone drive I-95 recently?

This is what I am worried about, places we usually stop to use a bathroom not being opened inside. We’re not worried about eating, as we will be bringing food with us anyway. Just wanted a decent place to use a bathroom. Gas station bathrooms creep me out!! Lol!

    Anyone drive I-95 recently?

Good to hear! Did you happen to stay at any hotels along the way? We usually drive straight through on the way down, but on the way home we usually stop half way. Just wondering how hotels are during Covid, as for being opened and being safe.

    Anyone drive I-95 recently?

We leave in 11 days from NJ and will be driving down I-95. Just curious if anyone has made that drive recently and if so, is everything opened? Specifically, to use a bathroom, besides just rest stops. Thanks!
