    Here now ....... Trip update

We discovered Miller's Ale House on our last trip. The food certainly isn't gourmet but it is very good and terrific value. We will be eating there on our first night there next month. Mags

School holidays vs taking child out of school?

Personally, I never did (except once), but everyone makes their own choices. The one time I did, the class was doing long multiplication and long division. My son found it very hard to catch up and when I did try to help him out, seemingly I was teaching him a wrong method. :confused3 My best...

ESTA's approved - do I need to print anything?

I take the print offs just in case. I have always had them at hand but never been asked for them. The reason I do carry them though is that several people reported being asked for them (on a Thomson flight I think) so I don't take any risks. Mags

How to deal with poor service

I always tip 20% but will leave less (never under 15%) if I feel that the service isn't quite up to scratch. Knowing that the servers are taxed on expected tips, I know that leaving less leaves them out of pocket. I have never found poor service in WDW , except at Coral Reef and Ohana. We have...

Fred and Wilma - 'The Keys' to 'The World' - Day 7

Wow! What a great day that was Joh. I am so keen to visit Augustine in September. As we dont drive we will probably do the tour there by coach from Orlando. I know we wont be able to do it justice but a taster would be nice. Loving all the food and family photos yet again. Maggs

Such a shame that today didn't go as it should have and that the food choices weren't terrific either. Still, onwards and upwards. Looking forward to tomorrow's read. Maggs

It has taken me quite a while to get back to reading your reports Joh but it was worth the wait. What wonderful photos and what a lovely part of Florida the Keys seems to be. Such a shame that Daniel took a tumble but Im glad to see that your day improved. The Key Lime Pie looks lush. Funny...

Fred and Wilma - 'The Keys' to 'The World' - Day 1

What a great first day Joh. It is at times like this that I wish I would drive in Florida. It is so interesting to see the other 'side' of the state. I can't believe that you drank my mojito though. :) Forgetting the camera to take food pics is a punishable offence. :lmao: Looking forward to...

Didn't get invited to the Queen's reception? Here's the menu and CAKE!

That is the same recipe I use for one that I make for the kids! It is so moreish and is made in a sheet tin. I dont know how to describe Rich Tea biscuits to those outside the UK except that they are very plain crisp biscuits that break quite easily. They are quite an old fashioned biscuit and...

Didn't get invited to the Queen's reception? Here's the menu and CAKE!

It is a rich fruit cake. Here in the UK, this has been the traditional wedding cake since Victorian times. The cake is usually iced with marzipan and royal icing. We also make the same type of cake at Christmas time. My kids wouldnt survive Christmas without one. :) A lot of weddings here now...

    Anyone been to Munich?

We booked it with Viator on line and printed off the vouchers before we went. We then caught the bus in the morning across from the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof) beside the Karstadt store. The bus which is a lovely modern vehicle with an upper deck leaves at 8.30am. We sat upstairs so that...
