Leaving a child in Oceaneer's during an excursion

Just so you have more evidence that other people have done this successfully too, we left our 18m in the nursery in Alaska last summer while we took our older kids on a excursion. No issues and no concerns from the staff.

Question.... kids on the ship while you're in port?

On our last cruise, we left our 1 year old in the nursery while we took our older children on an excursion that was perfect for them (and didn't allow infants). Had no problems. Was not concerned about it. Nursery staff had no concerns. Excursion was through DCL.

    Seattle to Vancouver train

We are doing Alaska in July 2017 with a group of extended family. We fly into Seattle and have reservations for the train on Saturday morning. When we did this previously in 2013, I remember reading several posts here about what time to arrive at Amtrak to get particular reserved seats...

    Disney Cruise Line Transfer Question

Another similar question about transfers. Is the luggage time for transfers from WDW resort to DCL always in the morning? Our travel agent told us it would be in the evening (like on the ship), which will be challenging for us with our evening plans.

Small World Nursery for 7 Month Old?

We were on the Wonder with our then 9 month old in October. Nursery worked out really well. It was easy to add hours on board. One night they held him for the whole three hours as he was asleep and wouldn't transfer to the crib. We used the nursery for adult dining, spa time, and taking our...

    Recent Nursery Experiences

We had a good experience with the nursery on the Magic this month for our 10 month old. He seemed to have a good time; the staff was very nice. One night (they weren't busy) someone held him sleeping for 2 hours because he woke up whenever they put him down. They called us the first time we...

    Canada/New England Cruise-A couple questions

We were also on the Oct 2 NE Coast cruise. We had a great time. My boys are 7 yrs, 7yrs, and 9 months. Kids had a great time in the pools and the baby enjoyed the splash zone. Water was heated and they had no complaints. One of my sons rode the aquadunk back to back to back... We also...

    sleeper sofa

Thanks all. We have no flexibility on our dates and it's over Easter, so i don't think experimenting with renting points is going to work for us this year. I love AKL, so definitely want to stay there. Standard rooms are $600 more. So.... The kids will be 16 months, 8yr and 8yr. Thanks for...

    sleeper sofa

We are interested in a studio villa at AKL Kindani village for April 2017. Book with Disney, not points. This is our first trip with 3 kids. What are people's experiences with the sleeper sofa? Do you have to pull out the bed each day yourself? Make the bed? Put it away in the morning? IE...

Thoughts on Taku glacier lodge in Juneau

Another vote for Taku Lodge. We loved this excursion! Definitely our favorite of the trip. Our kids were 4 at the time (twins) and we are hoping to go back when we cruise again next summer.

    Alaska 2017 Disney vs RCI

Thanks all. We have cruised Alaska on Disney before so have some idea what we're buying, and certainly get the importance of itinerary in Alaska, so considering other options. But my older kids (8) love love love "Mickey's clubs" and I am worried about nursery options for my 1yr old. So we...

    Alaska 2017 Disney vs RCI

DCL is Vancouver round trip, RCI is southbound Seward to Vancouver. Both do Juneau, Skagway, Ketichican. RCI adds Icy strait Point and Hubbard Glacier. So pretty similar, other than al little more variety on RCI and the chance to add on Alaska land days at the beginning. More looking for...

    Alaska 2017 Disney vs RCI

I am trying to decide what to book for Alaska 2017 for an extended family trip. We have done three disney cruises: Alaska, Panama Canal, and Western Caribbean. We loved our Alaska trip in summer 2013. In 2017, we would have 6 adults, 2 8yr boys, 2 3yr girls, and 1 18m boy. I have a hold on...

Disney Wonder - sleeping with 2 toddlers

For our two four-year olds last year, we had them take turns falling asleep on the top bunk and then moved whoever was on top (asleep) to the opposite end of the bottom bunk before we went to bed. This year when they were both 5, they alternated again but they did well staying on the top. We...

Panama Canal or TA and kids - experiences?

We just did the WBPC with our two five year old boys. We had a great time. Kids loved it. DS said "Let's take the Disney Wonder back home too." Had to drag them out of the club/lab kicking and screaming. The counselors knew them by name and seemed to know a bit of their personalities also...

    Alaska

We did Alaska June 2013 with two 4yr olds. We flew into Seattle on Thursday night, stayed in an airport hotel and spent Friday sight-seeing in Seattle. Then took the train from Seattle to Vancouver early Saturday morning. We did not bother with paying extra for business class or checked...

Taking amtrak from seattle to vancouver

We took the train from Seattle to Vancouver for our early June cruise. It worked great. They assigned seats when we checked in. We got there a little over an hour early for the morning north-bound trip and about 2.5 hours early for the evening south-bound trip. Both times we got exactly the...

    Alaska Excursions--post your reviews here!

We loved our June 3 Alaska cruise. I booked all our excursions through Disney. Two adults and two four year old boys on everything. Skagway -- Yukon suspension bridge, city, and white pass railway. We book a narrated bus ride into the Yukon first. Beautiful views and lots of picture...
