Without Restaurants, How Do Guests Eat While Vacationing?

I've been watching a lot of Survivorman recently, so I think setting plenty of traps will work. You can't hold up a french fry without a duck coming out of the bushes in normal times, with the parks being empty so long I'm sure they are famished for human food. And, well, if I happen to catch...

    4/21/20 podcast

Indeed. Considering the fact that the handshake was originally used to either a) show you are not going to reach for your sword or b) a test to shake loose any hidden weapons on another person, I could do without that type of initial distrust. A smile and a 'Hello, good to meet you' is more...

    4/21/20 podcast

I think flapping your arms like a chicken would be ideal - the number of times would indicate how excited/pleased you are to see the other person. A "one flap" would enter the lexicon as "wow, what an insult, dude!" Barring that... a nod of the head works!

When WDW re-opens: Price hike or lots of discounts??

I think they will have to offer discounts, but it won't be soon. I have serious doubts that Disney will open this June or even this summer. We are still "in the moment" with this pandemic. If and when it seems to ebb, I think the collective shock across the world will sink in - much like...

Is this possible to do at AK?

As for the original plan: I usually tour the parks alone and am reasonably quick on my feet, that being said, even I wouldn't attempt that plan. A bit too tightly timed. And if a slow-moving stroller, a group of 6 people walking hand-in-hand in front of you, or a tour group gets in the way...

    Problems with dark queues?

I wear a pirate's eye-patch. Not only do I style out as a Bond villain, when I walk into the dark ride queues I transfer it to the other eye. My eye pierces the dark like a cat's gaze.

What is your all time favorite video game

Do you get to the cloud district very often? No, of course you don't. Yah - one of my top games. I'm giving a shout out to M.U.L.E. on the Commodore 128 as well. And the old Sierra games (Space Quest, Kings Quest) are top notch. If we are talking arcade games, then - Star Wars, Berzerk...

Is the Hoop De Doo for us?

I would not say it's like Adventure's Club. The AC was a bit more PG-13, while Hoop De Do is G to PG. It's a 1 1/2 to 2 hour experience. I would say the food is definitely not exotic, it is American comfort food. If you've ever seen the old TV show "Hee Haw" then I'd say that would be the...

    Club level

I would say that if you can easily afford it - as in, treat it as a luxury - then yes, do it. Think of it as a few more tools in your belt. Say you happen to be back at the hotel and want a snack, but don't want to buy anything, then the club benefit will come into play. I'm going by memory...

    Wedding rings

Personally, I think it's wonderful that you both share your love of gardening with matching weeding rings. I can see the both of you on a fine Saturday morning, back to back with your biggest sheers, decimating those pesky weeds into oblivion! Now you need mowing rings... (Okay, sorry. I'm...

    Despair...???

Yes, commence wailing for at least 1 hour per day, every day before your trip. Gnashing of teeth is optional, but recommended.* *Okay, but seriously, as mentioned above, people change around their reservations constantly. Keep checking, especially a few days before when you want to eat, and...

What day of the week for which parks?

Just a hunch, mind, but I think starting early September, Hollywood Studios might be... slightly busy. All days. ;)

    Trader Sam's (WDW) Strategy

No, but - Considering there are places where the best restrooms are ranked at WDW, and you can meet a humanoid mouse and sentient chipmunks, you just gotta roll with it...

Handing a $1000 gift card to a server?

Just as long as you skim this thread and not a gift card, you're okay! ... I'll just see myself out.

What can or should Disney do about the crowds?

Yeah. Disney's America was a terrible idea. (I live in Northern Virginia). From what I heard at the time, not only did that idea cheese off the locals interested in history, more to the point Disney's usual arrogance came up against the equal, if not bigger, arrogance of the lawmakers and...

How do the Popcorn buckets work?

To keep the popcorn in one place and not on the ground? (Sorry! My inborn sarcastic nature cannot pass up a thread with a title like that. No harm meant....)

    Homecomin'

When we went I would judge the food to be good to very good, but to me, not at that price point (of course I say that to many places at DW). Unfortunately at that time, the waiter for some reason gave up on us - very inattentive, just wanted us to go. Didn't affect the food, of course, but...

    Which arm is best?

I wouldn't care which arm, but a trick I found was to wear it so the Mickey head is upside-down if you are looking down at your wrist. That way when you swing your arm to the reader, the Mickey head is right-side up. (My apologies if this is obvious and/or covered elsewhere).

    Tony's Town Square at MK

I would say Victoria and Albert's is 5-star. Just below is Jiko, Sanaa, Swan and Dolphin bluezoo, and California Grill. All others are good to average, with most in the latter category. EVERYthing is overpriced, however.
