    Help with resale add on

Hi, I could use some help from all of you. I currently have 200 VGC points with a Sept use year. These 200 points were purchased direct from Disney. They are in two separate 100 point contracts. I have really enjoyed using the points and I am ready to add on. I'm thinking about buying...

    Just Bought DVC

Thanks again to everyone! Already had my first DVC stay. I got a last minute studio for 7/4 at AKV (Kidani). It was a great room! I had to try a couple of times but was surprised I could get anything at all on 7/4. I'm very satisfied with the first experience.

    Just Bought DVC

Thanks everyone! I have already made a ressie for November in a 2BR at OKW to take my parents there. They are very excited about it and I would have never done that without DVC. Also looking forward to that first VGC stay!

The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners Group

I live in FL, but just bought 200 points last week at the VGC. I bought in CA because I will get more use out of the 11 month window there. I am planning a trip May 2011 to use the VGC, but have already set up some time at WDW as well. I am already realizing that 200 points might not be...

    Just Bought DVC

Hi - I just bought 200 points at VGC (at DL). I have taken the tour in FL several times and finally took the plunge. I asked when my first tour was, they told me 1995. So it only took me 15 years to decide. I got a Sept use year, with an incentive of all 200 Sept 09 points. I immediately...

Potential New Buyer - Unique Situation

Thanks again to everyone for their advice! I very much appreciate all of the responses. I think this is probably dead on right. I think the best thing for me is to just keep booking the occasional one night stays.

Potential New Buyer - Unique Situation

I really appreciate the responses! This gives me more to think about. I was "on the fence" about this anyway, and the feedback most of you are giving makes me lean towards not doing this. It probably wouldn't work like I want it to. This is true, and perhaps I would be better off just...

Potential New Buyer - Unique Situation

Thanks for the quick response! I did not know that MS is not open on Sat or Sun. This could kill the deal by itself. I'd like to primarily go on Sun, and stay Sun nights. I'd at least like the flexibility of a 7 day week. If I were to always use a Friday or Saturday night, that would kill...

Potential New Buyer - Unique Situation

I’ve been reading the DVC boards for a while now but this is my first post here. (You can occasionally find me in news and rumors). I’m considering buying into DVC and I would use it in a unique way. I would appreciate your opinions and insight. First some background. I live an hour’s...

    Drainage problems at AK?

This is just to add some fuel to the rumor. I was at DAK on Sunday, and as I left the parking lot, I saw several very large concrete drainage tubes lined up waiting for installation somewhere. I had not read Jim's article, so I assumed they were for the Everest construction. However, at this...

state of things: our 3/27 - 4/3 trip

Back to an earlier point, DVC booths are becoming more prevalent. Off the top of my head, I can think of three in the MK - Main Street across from Tony's; TL (used to be Geiger's counter) and AL (accross from the treehouse). Back to your current discussion...

    Another BTMR accident

Apparently not. Two trains collided at considerable expense to Disney. The fact that this could happen so soon after re-opening tells me that something is wrong. If anything, training should have been doubled before this opening. This should not have happened, especially now. If a ride...

    Another BTMR accident

This really concerns me. If this happened as portrayed on MiceAge, I think it is very serious. I can’t believe that the train separation hardware/software is unreliable enough to allow this to happen. How could a flaw that serious get through the test and adjust phase over the past several...

    Dear Eisner

I haven't seen anyone argue that Disney should ignore the low income market. What I have seen is that some of the posters think that PC and AS are not the best effort that Disney could have produced for the low income market. And I agree with that.

Motion Sickness Bags Are Now Being Handed out To Mission Space Riders

DK, It would be so much easier if I could convey my thoughts more clearly. I meant 2 things. The first is that outsourcing the majority of a project that is your core product (a theme park attraction) is a mistake. AV has already given evidence that this ride mechanism will most likely...

Motion Sickness Bags Are Now Being Handed out To Mission Space Riders

If true, this could very easily become a very expensive "Body Wars" scenario for Epcot.

Motion Sickness Bags Are Now Being Handed out To Mission Space Riders

On this point, we'll have to agree to disagree. There's no way to prove this either way, but my experience has been that the types of quality initiatives I mentioned do not save costs. In fact, they increase costs, and are sometimes cast aside after considerable expense. Back to our topic...

Motion Sickness Bags Are Now Being Handed out To Mission Space Riders

Mr. Kidds, IMO, you can't even compare 2003 dollars with 1967 dollars in this case. Any comparison would be through an inflation index, or some other mathematical adjustment. The problem with this is that it doesn't take into account 2003 waste. For example, I read an article by Bob Gurr...

Motion Sickness Bags Are Now Being Handed out To Mission Space Riders

Matt, This is exactly my concern. Local news this morning in Tampa did the M:S barfbag story. They stated that 1 in every 100 riders get sick. They didn't say where those numbers came from, or what "sick" means (actual spilling of protien, or just nausea). I do not get sick on M:S. But...
