    I am generally a I don't pull the kids out kind of parent. Last month we did pull the kids out of school (end of first week) and it was so worth it. Lower crowds, not too much homework to make up and it was still warm (my only issue, had to be warm enough for shorts).

    Quick ? - lactose free diet

    Duncan Hines butter golden cake mix is free of lactose (all milk actually). My dd has a life threatening milk allergy. It needs butter or margarine, but they have milk free margarine out there.

    My daughter was invited to attend the USMC Ball

    I've been the to USMC ball. I always wore a black knee length dress, black stockings, black heels. Good food usually. There is a ceremony they go through at the beginning (before they feed you). Lots of rah rah rah Marine corp! She should have fun.

    Anyone ever stay at a Ronald McDonald House?

    My cousin stayed in one. She said it was great. She was at one in Chicago and it was right across the street from the hospital. Thank goodness because her son had to be rushed into surgery in the middle of the night and she was there in minutes.

    If my kid didn't have her lunch she would starve (food allergies) and it wouldn't do a damn thing to help her remember it next time (memory deficient).
