Packing question for those that have been to Costa Rica

We didn’t wear long pants at all. We both wore shorts to Zipline, and it was fine. The only time we would have wanted pants is if it were cold...and it wasn’t. Have a great trip!

New Costa Rica Itineary....how much bus time?

Day 1-not really a day in my opinion. We spent 10 mins meeting the guides, and dinner was on our own. Day 2-drove from San Jose to Sarapiqui to white water raft...lots of fun and great lunch after. Then drove from Sarapiqui to Arenal area. Probably 3-4 hours on the bus total. Day 3-Drove to...

New Costa Rica Itineary....how much bus time?

A lot. We just did it in March. That being said, it is one of our favorite trips to date. You have significant driving time on about 3 of the days, and one of them caused some motion sickness in multiple parties on the bus. Bus is nice, bathroom to be used sparingly, good AC, charging outlets...

    Costa Rica transfer changes

That’s great news, glad to hear it. We leave on Friday for ours, and I have stocked up on all things motion-sickness prevention!

    Costa Rica transfer changes

I understand the response to the disaster a few weeks ago, if that is indeed what this was, but I still take issue with the complete lack of communication or reflection of the change in the price. About a month ago, we were informed that the hanging bridges activity was replaced by the...

    Costa Rica transfer changes

Just wanted to give a head's up to anyone booked on the Costa Rica trip. The itinerary as it was when I booked had us taking a charter flight from San Jose to Cano Negron on Day 2, the wildlife refuge tour, and then coach transfer to Arenal that afternoon. Now, there is no charter flight, and...

    Philadelphia/D.C. Free Time

Hello, We are going on the NYC and Philadelphia/DC trips in a few weeks. One of our children really wants to visit the Holocaust museum, so I planned on doing that during a free time afternoon while we are in D.C. The problem is that I need to book a time to go, and I'm not sure what day/time...

    Amazon and Galapagos...any thoughts?

Thanks for the suggestion. We just started looking at this trip recently, so I'll do some research too.

So helpful! Thank you and looking forward to more!

    Amazon and Galapagos...any thoughts?

We're considering the Amazon/Galapagos Islands trip for next summer, can anyone tell me how it was? Wondering if the cruise-based Galapagos portion would be better? I haven't seen a trip report on this one, so if I've missed it, please let me know!

    Arizona and Utah Review

Thank you for the compliment! I have to be honest, I have a nice camera and relied completely on the automatic features for all of the photos on this trip. I did take a photography class early this spring to let me have a bit more leeway for our Italy trip in July though. I have a Nikon D7000...

    Italy: Viva Italia Meets Thread

That would be great! Myself (Diane, age 37), husband Shawn age 40, and two daughters ages 7 and 9. Thanks!

    Italy: Viva Italia Meets Thread

Teebee41, we're on the same adventure! And I'm really excited because we have 7 and 9 year old daughters going as well; I was worried that they would be much younger than all of the other kids. Can't wait!

    spreadsheet

We did something like this as a family when we were deciding on our trip for this summer. I didn't keep it, however, once we made our decision. Each of us (myself, my husband, and both kids (girls, ages 9 and 7) looked through the current itinerary book and we each picked our top two trips. I...

Pompeii Day Trip & Rome Night Tour

We are using the Your Tour in Italy group for both a day tour to Pompeii and a night tour of Rome. Prices seem high, but comparable to other guided tours I have seen. They come highly recommended by Pete as I saw in one of the podcasts about the Dreams Unlimited Viva Italia trip. We're going to...

    Anyone have their ABD canceled?

Those responses help! I hadn't thought of going through the airline itself after the booking is completed. We may consider that next time, as it is already too late for our flights this summer.

    Anyone have their ABD canceled?

I will just chime in to say that we tried to add air through ABD last year, and were told that we wouldn't be able to pick seats and that they would be assigned by the carrier. As a family with two children and myself and my husband both well over 6' tall, seat selection is essential. Now, I...
