So FYI, on room rates. That time period usually has a room only rate discount. It goes out to the general public the last week in December (earlier if you are a AP, DVC, etc.) I spoke with Disney and they told me they would apply discount code to reservations already made retroactive. The past discounts have been 15% value, 20% moderate, 25% deluxe... you can view historical discounts at http://www.mousesavers.com/historical-information-on-walt-disney-world-resort-discounts/#2016

So far that IS what we've booked. Room Only Package for April 20 -25. So if I were to call during that last week of December they would give me that discount? But what would happen if we were to buy let's say a dining plan or park hoppers later on in Jan or Feb?

no problem adding on, Disney will assist you, your biggest pain will be getting through the phone system

I will happily post the offer code once it is made available in late December.

That would be wonderful! I'm just glad the promo code will apply if we were to add-on dining and hoppers!

If historical data holds true, it is combinable with dining packages, magic your way packages, etc. the discount is only applied to your hotel stay portion of your reservations. They also did not show any blackout dates like are present for the "free dining" offers in the fall... so hopefully we will not have any problems adding the discount later this year.

The Armed Forces Salute was released. Have a million quotes. Put Coronado on hold as I've never stayed there. Already wanting to swap out to a Port Orleans resort. Decisions, decisions.

FWIW, we stayed at Coronado for PHM last year and it was wonderful. Good luck!

I have this hoodie (Her Universe is fantastic!) but I'm not sure I'd want to run with it on during April in Florida. My advice, FWIW, is if you have it already to do many test runs with it, hood up.

Thanks! It's the only mod I haven't stayed at, but Riverside is probably my favorite so I keep gravitating towards it. I'll discuss it more with my running buddy and decide. Spring Break is pricey so I looked at Shades of Green as well and might even consider a value if we're trying to be more budget friendly, even though it's not my preference. I'm very indecisive on this trip!

We've stayed at all the moderates multiple times. In my opinion, Coronado is the prettiest resort of all the moderates. Especially at that time of year. It also has the best food court. The drawback to it is the size. If you end up in one of the further buildings it can be a 3/4-mile walk one way to the food court/front desk area. It's not so bad for buses, though, since it has four stops.

It looks like the military discount isn't available during the Star Wars dark side. I guess I'm keeping my SoG reservation! Unfortunately the values that were cheaper didn't have the right sized beds for us.

The room discount is available. I was able to book one. (Well put it on hold as I'm still undecided.) The tickets are blocked out though during most of the Dark Side period.

Values have double beds whereas the mods and deluxes have queens. You can request a king room at values, but there aren't that many so the changes aren't great if the resort is crowded.

Yeah, we are not squeezing into a double. We don't even like to squeeze into a queen these days. Momma needs her space and her good sleep!

Yeah, we tried a value for our Wine & Dine trip last year and didn't get the king bed request and a double bed just doesn't work for us. We definitely confirmed that! LOL!

The only reason I'd consider a value for this trip is that I'm going with my BFF so I'm fine with sleeping in a double on my own. But I also really hate combined shampoo and conditioner! LOL! We'll probably do a mod, but I did price out SoG and am considering it. It is cheaper than a room only at a mod with the military discount since it's peak season.

I thought the SoG beds were significantly lacking in comfort, but it's been about five years since we stayed there, so this may have changed.
