Disney Gift Card Deals

That would be great! Saves a step.
Ugh. My pivot table is not helping! I don't know when my qualified spending year to date is through. It's definitely not counting as gas though because Amex says I've only spent $156 on gas but when I download my transactions I get > $300. I suspect you're correct.

I thought I read the Costco Visa doesn't count grocery store gas stations as gas stations either. Anyone know if that's correct?

I guess I'm probably only spending $720/year on gas so we're not talking big money here but I might as well figure this out.

Has anyone been turned away at Walgreens with gc? I have the red Walgreens gc (not store credit) that I purchased from SVM that are supposed to work and tried to purchase eBay but the POS wouldn't accept it today. It was my first try. I'm pretty disappointed as I have decided to quit using GS even though it worked for me as recently as last week.

Those are the gift cards that I used to buy a $300 eBay card and a $200 Disney card with no problems. Did you swipe it yourself? I had 5 $100 gift cards and each time I swiped, it deducted $100 from the balance due.

Yes I swiped it myself. Tried it twice. I'm going to try again tomorrow. Maybe something was just acting screwy.

I tried and failed at a new Walgreens today. The register would not allow it. Went to my other Walgreens and it still worked fine. I will be going back tomorrow to buy another ebay gc. Then I'll be ready for the next ebucks. I'm glad that Walgreens sells food. I'm not to worried about being stuck w/ them.

I read where your new year begins on the statement that includes January 1 (regardless on when you got the card). For me, thats the statement that runs 12/18 - 1/17. I did try to verify this once and it looked correct. I've been going in store and buying a Kroger gift card to pay at the pump in order to get the 6%. However, I'm almost at my $6K limit. I also have an Amex Blue Everyday card that pays 3% back on groceries (no annual fee), so I'll start using that once my $6K is used up on the Preferred. I considered closing the Everyday card, but its nice to be able to use that once I reach the max purchase on the Preferred + I get to double up on the Amex offers. Its a lot to keep track of though.

Big bummer on the Walgreens fails! Was hoping to buy some during the next Ebucks promo. Boo hiss!

Are you sure that works? I thought I read specifically where you won't get either the 3% or the 6% (it would have to be a stand alone station to get 3% back on gas). My workaround has always been to go in store to purchase a gift card - and then buy gas with that.

So awhile back, I had carefully read the T&A for the AmEx BCP card and thought that I was only going to get *1%* back because it was grocery store fuel. However, when I went back and looked at each transaction, I was ACTUALLY getting *6%*!

Here's my post a "few" pag s back...
I don't know if you saw where I edited/added to my post above. That IS what the fine print says, but when I went and looked at the detailed summary of rewards, I actually earned 6% on those transactions. That, despite the fact that it's clearly categorized/labeled on the statement as "Fuel" (at Kroger)! So for now, I'm going to be thankful for whatever I get above 1% at Kroger!

Sorry - think I missed your previous post. Thats great!! I'll give it a try next time and see what happens.

What area are you from? I'm in southwest PA

Maybe it was a problem with the register? I used my Walgreens GC's today, and I had to swipe each one twice.

I recommend trying these at another store, and if they still don't work, ask a register to check if they are any good.
You might also want to try swiping twice - I had to do that with mine today,

I just converted the Walgreen's cards today.......
the cashier never batted an eye and didn't mention the gift card at all....like this is an everyday, normal thing.

My experiences at both Best Buy and Walgreen's have been uneventful and quite pleasant. I think I will continue to buy Walgreen's GC's, but ONLY when there is an eBucks bonus offer. I also bought a $100 BB gift card today from PPDG and had ZERO problems. Right now, I have $200 in ebay and $100 in BB. On Thursday, I will convert my BB into another eBay card when I am over on that end of town. Then, I will sit on my $300 and wait. If a promo comes along, I will dump all $300 into Walgreen's. Otherwise, I will wait another 10 days and use $100 to get BB from PPDG. That way, I still have the funds available if a promo comes up, I'm not running a ton through PPDG and I am still slowly earning eBucks and eBates...$3 at a time:thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing that, kristenrice! I did some WGC's last night and they went very easily for me, as well. Very happy with that. Same experience, she didn't bat an eye, even when she had to help me slide the card once, like you said - as if it's an everyday, normal thing. I plan to turn more whenever I finally get my fed ex order. I expect to continue churning as I can using the WGC's, and BB when I can get a good order to easily flow thru, as I've had happen at times. Thankful for these two avenues for churning at this time.

In relation to Walgreens churns, and the now defunct GS churning, I live sixty miles west of Chicago, in Northern Illinois.

Gamestop has completely stopped here at my local stores, and stores in the suburbs I've been, too, as well, just this week. Unfortunately, for me, I took one too many gambles on this! More details in my following post.
