Talking about DISDogs on today's (7/21) Universal show!

Love this thread! Such sweet pups!

I have an 8 year old, 20 lb miniature schnauzer, Izzy. She's been with me since she was 10 weeks old. I'm single and no kids, so she is most definitely my child. :) She loves chasing squirrels more than anything and hates horses and birds. Loves cheese and fruit. Her favorite toy is a squeaky tennis ball. She's the best little dog!! Loves people and loves attention. :)

The day I brought her home:

Yes, we had pictures made once to benefit a rescue shelter. :)

She is precious!!

Izzy is adorable- I love Schnauzers! My girl Penny is mostly Schnauzer. I'm guessing that's the barking part, LOL!

@WebmasterKathy you are just amazing to foster so many needy pups. <3 I'm glad they've been able to improve your life too.

We adopted two dogs about 9 or 10 years ago, from shelters near where we lived in New York. Unfortunately, Wilbur, the white dog in the picture below, passed away at age 10 in April. I still expect him to be looking out the window when I get home.

Cole, the black and white dog in the picture above, has become resident king of the castle now. He is a senior guy and is about 12 years old and a total squish pot. He wants to be snuggled up whenever possible. He also thinks he's a lap dog, despite being 83 pounds. The vet just put him on a diet, which he is not thrilled about, but he's getting by.

This summer we went on a road trip from the gulf coast of Florida, up to NYC to spend a few weeks with my parents. He's a great travel companion, though not really great at sharing the bed. LOL.

They are adorable, mooshable "big guys". :) Sorry to hear about Wilbur. I betcha Cole misses his buddy too. Like Kathy said - who says a "big guy" can't be a lap dog? :) Especially around me - I got a big lap! :)

This is our Daisy doggy.

She's right around 50 lbs and we really have no idea what she is...beyond dog ;) As much as DH wants to get another lab and I want a Great Pyrenees, I volunteered at the Houston SPCA for a couple of years before our first daughter was born...and I promised myself that her first dog would be a total Heinz 57 mutt from the shelter. Daisy's now almost 9 1/2 and minus the time she flooded the first floor of the house o_O(and a few other issues), she's been great.

She also loves to attack hair brushes and as shown in this video, is really fond of bubbles.

Aww! Izzy is completely adorable!! I had a miniature schnauzer growing up; he was salt and pepper and was the best puppy ever!

@ninecrayons- they are beautiful! Who could not love an 83 pound lap dog?

Thanks Kathy and Heidi! Funny, but while I think Cole misses having a playmate around, he very quickly has figured out that this means unlimited couch time, snuggles and snacks. So, he is very much enjoying being king of the castle.

I'm curious to see what they said about Sapphire Falls and pets on the show, so I'll go back and give a listen. Mostly, I'm curious about restrictions on size and such. During our road trip, we stayed at Red Roof Inns because they had no pet fees and no restrictions. We're localish (~1.5 hours away) so we drive to Disney for NYE every year. We were planning to try out Best Friends pet care this time, but some place like Sapphire Falls might work too. We'll see.

And a few more shots of Cole. One being an actual lap dog on my lap, secondly, he's not allowed on the bed at home, but he would sneak into the bed at my parents every morning to snuggle me.

Oh my gosh - awesome lap doggy! :) Good to see you, too - how'd ya get him to let you get in his shot? :rotfl:

I had a schnauzer growing up that barked if the wind changed direction. But Izzy is not much of a barker at all! If she barks then she either needs to go out, a UPS man is nearby or something is wrong. (She was with my parents once and woke my Dad up late at night to alert him to a fire in their backyard.)

A lot of black schnauzer owners say they are different than the white or salt and pepper ones. They tend to not bark as much and are more social. So odd!

Thank you! I had a salt and pepper one growing up as well. (I have bad allergies and most dogs get to me too much....but I've always been good with schnauzers! )

Then my schneagle, Lucy, must be salt and pepper schnauzer, because she's a barker! Since she's 10, I'm almost hoping her hearing diminishes a little, because she misses nothing. I will say she us the best damn bug hunter though - which is great for flies in the house but has caused her issues several times with bees.

Ouch! I know the beagle I had as a kid liked to bark, but LOVED to HOWL!!! Now that was annoying! LOL

We are down to one tiny dog now. Here is i was introduced to Viva: She likes to cuddle and lay in the sun and stare out of the windows, but if you get between you and her mommy she will come at you like a pit bull.

We lost our other dogs, Maggie (a Golden), and Louie (a long haired chihuahua) each before different Disney trips. Being in the bubble helped the pain, but coming home to an empty house always seemed wrong. IMG_0011.jpg

Awww - all gorgeous, and sorry on the losses. The little girlie you have now surely loves her Mommy, huh? How come no little dogs ever THINK they're little? :rotfl: Is that like me seeing myself as a thin person?
