August 2016 Car Rental Rate watch

No, I didn't try IG. I booked on Costco site and use low price finder on their ite that automatically applies any coupons. I'm very glad I booked something I can live with. This is the first time prices haven't gone flown much at last minute, wow!! I'm hoping my midsize goes down under $200

Gotcha you won't do better with the IG code then. I have gotten good rates in the past with a visa code but haven't been able to find one this year. I'm not a cosco member. There isn't one close to us.

Booked a 7-passenger minivan from 8/16 to 8/22 using the $25 off, the Costco contract ID for the additional driver, and the AS1 product code, for $206. I thought this was a steal coz I've been looking for a while and everything's always in the $400's at best.

Anyone have any issue with the AS1?

That's awesome! Maybe I should join cosco just for the car discounts. Something to think about.

Forgot to mention this is pick up and drop off at the Disney Car Care Centre. When I change the pick up to MCO, the rate goes back up to $419 or so... We're going on the DME then :)

Nice. figures. How will you get to DCC from mco ?thanks

Resort pick up by Alamo :-)
Alamo Car Care Center phone # is 407-824-3470
Might wanna give them a call..
I called about a month ago to find out about pick up and drop off arrangements. The lady I spoke with told me I needed to arrange a pick up a day in advance. That surprised me... I thought it was like an hours notice!!

Oh definitely. This is what I've done with them in the past too.

So Alamo will bring the car to MCo? do they charge for this? thanks all. I'm in need of the Brazil code, does anyone have it ?

I have never rented a car for a Florida trip before but this year is Legoland and Universal so we need it. DH requested it for length of stay even though we will have to pay to park at Uni. We need a Full Size from Aug 30-Sept 6. I read alot of this thread and then went rental car hunting. I think since we bridge into Sept alot of the codes here didn't work for me. However I did find some codes for Budget that did work. Right now I have a rate of $209 complete. I'm fine with that. But thanks to the good advice here I will keep on checking!
Got my price down to $156 with Alamo. Now I'm debating upgrading to an SUV, but that puts me back over $200. But I know DH would be happier.

Better jump on it before it goes away.. you can hold multiple reservations!

Alamo has dropped to nearly what it was months ago. Right now I could get a mid size SUV as the lowest option at 260 for 9 days. Using dvc contract code and a $25 coupon. Sticking with national still. It's $45 more, but it helps me keep my executive status and gets me another free day coupon. National hasn't budged and is $150 higher than what I currently have.

I just checked Alamo. I have 2 weeks, full size, booked for $406.00, it's now almost $600.00. It's not budging for me.

Hi! I am a new DVC member. can you tell me where you find the DVC Contract Code? Thanks!

August is really overpriced at both Mco and Tpa. Yikes. Anyone rent from Budget with a code lately, or Thrifty? prices are too high.

Alamo prices have not changed at all for me. Always same price when I look and I've been checking everyday for over a month now. Dollar seems to fluctuate.

The downward trend from earlier in the week seems to be over and it's going in the wrong direction. Still happy with what I have. *12 days!*

Alamo hasn't budged for me either, with Costco discount. It's still $400 for midsize. 10 days with pick up at FLL. And I leave in 4 days. I don't think it will be coming down like past years. Glad I booked at $230 now.

My prices have dropped, from crazy outrageous high to outrageous high, lol. I've got a reservation using the AS1 code which is completely reasonable, though I'd have felt 'safer' with a 'normal' reservation but oh well. No way I'm spending $802 for something I've routinely gotten for $400-440 year after year after year.

I think this is the price we pay when many various car rental agencies begin to get bought up by the same parent companies...

i don't have much time there, so always want the on site rental cars at mco on site. tampa too. but that tax is robbery so now i'm thinking to go outside of airport to rent , shuttle it, I guess. sad but true. may have to start visiting elsewhere. Just getting too $$$$.
