So the company I work for does a big golf outing. I am not a golfer, the last time I really golfed was when I was in the Navy and Stationed at pearl harbor and had nothing else to do on my days off.

So one of the directors asks if I would be willing to golf if a vendor needed me. I am the primary contact with the vendor and make decisions to buy their stuff. Or at least strongly suggest it. <sigh> I got them in front of a big group of corporate big wigs, so they wanted to get their name on the golf outing. So next thing I know I am going to play golf(4 man scramble, thank god), this coming Monday.

I'm left handed, so I had to reach out to my uncle who plays golf to borrow his clubs, and got one of my staff to give me a bunch of old golf balls he uses for practice. <sigh>

Just found out, we get a ton of free stuff as well for participating, so now I feel bad because I really don't even want to golf, but I am going to be there. Ah well, I guess there are worse jobs than going to play golf for the afternoon instead of working.

Also, only like 18 days until Disney vacation. :)

A day out of the office playing golf and 18 days until Disney, I think you are good.

I'm thinking Darcy nailed it there. Let me know if you want to trade places.

Friday already. This week went by so fast.......Said no one ever.:rotfl2::rotfl2: Happy Friday guys. Heading out early today to move and spread 800 bags of turface onto a ball field. The good news is that it's only 87 degrees today. :sunny:

Prayers to those in need. Seems to be a lot of not so good things going around. Sending support and positive thoughts to everyone.

Just enjoy and have fun with the tournament. Most times, the personal interaction is the goal anyway. Remember, a bad day of golf beats a good day in the office every time. Unless your work involves a day in Disney. Then Disney wins.:goodvibes

Happy Friday Gents, we made it through another week. My plans for the weekend include emptying the shed of junk, moving some stuff around and putting newer junk into the shed.

I say enjoy the golf and the free stuff. You can always brag to the rest of your foursome your plans about the upcoming Disney trip.

Morning all.
After a beautiful day yesterday.... more rain and T-storms forecast for today. The dog will not be happy.
Actually, neither will I.

DD15 was invited to a Fringe show last night. Went with a friend and her friend's Dad. Apparently a co-worker of his was supposed to be in it. I read the description and told her that she might find it boring. "It looks like an alternate political history musical." She said "I like musicals." Okay.
When she got home, she bounced into our room and announced that it was great. "But there sure was a lot of sexual stuff! My friend asked her Dad if he had known it was going to be like that, would he have brought us. He said "NO!!!""

Scarred for life!

Happy Saturday. I have had a fun week of little office time and lots of tennis. However, a friend's FIL died this week and we went to the funeral. He had hospice care for cancer. There was only about 30 people there. Life is short. Plan for the future, but live life everyday.

Swim meet cancelled last night due to a monsoon. They'll have to double up today or Sunday.

No one knows for sure. They're sneaky that way.

That's because Randall is their leader. :lmao:

My dad was stationed in Pearl Harbor during Korean War (yeah, he's old) and taught tennis to the officers. He has several trophies from Navy tournaments. Now that's a nice career.

Sounds like a lot of work. Good luck.

.

Or, you could get rid of the shed and stop buying junk.

She's probably heard or saw worse at her school. Good luck un-scarring her.

Sorry to here about your friend's FIL.

Good luck with the meets, hope she swims fast!

So you are saying your dad was a navy tennis pro?? Good gig!

Morning Guys,

hope everyone is having a great weekend. It's been super hot here and thankfully this is the first weekend in a long time that we have had nothing to do. Yesterday was a relaxing day and I suspect today will be similar.

Have a good one!

Happy Sunday. It sure is another hot day here. Oldest dd's team placed 7th in 200 free relay and she earned her first state medal. Championships are awarded 1 through 8, earning a spot into one of the 8 finals lanes from the different heats. Her team didn't make the medley relay final, and she still has one more relay event to go.

And there's this new things the kids are talking about called "internets".

Oh yeah, that thing. Al Gore invented the Internet in USA. Who invented it there?

Sorry to here about your friend's FIL.

Good luck with the meets, hope she swims fast!

Thanks. Yes, I guess a Navy pro, if that can be considered a classification.

Congrats to her! Good luck for the next relay event.

Morning boys.
It is morning, isn't it?

What a crappy night. Got off work last night at 10:30, home by 11. In bed by 11:30 with the alarm set for 5am for the next shift.
This is how I spent my night:
"Midnight... gotta get some sleep."
"12:30.... okay... need sleep."
"1am... might as well read for a while."
"2am... okay. Surely I can sleep now."
"3am... only 2 more hours to go."
"3:30am... puppy's barking."
"4am... maybe I can get an hour."
4:15 - 4:30 finally fell asleep-ish.
5am. The alarm goes off. Oddly enough, I'm still tired.
