Where are you staying on your next Disneyland Trip and Why?

We normally stay at Tropicana because the military rates are really good, the location is wonderful, it's quiet, and service is pretty good.

This October we are staying at Desert Inn & Suites. I saw a promo and took advantage of $99/night even on weekend days. Trop couldn't beat the price. And it's in the same location pretty much so we are going to try it.

My bucket list is to stay at the Disneyland Hotel though. It's been on my list since I was probably 3 years old. But I can't justify spending $500/night right now.

I keep hearing that the rooms at GCH are tiny. How do they compare to DLH? I'll admit, having the park entrance is a big plus for the GCH, but I'll be travelling with my brother and two kids, so a bit of room would be nice.

IMO the rooms at the DLH are much larger. I actually like the décor better also. The location of the Grand however can't be beat. When we are walking back to the DLH at night I think "oh maybe we should have stayed at the Grand" but once I'm back in my room I'm glad we didn't......
The Grand is doable with 4 people but depending on the age of the kids they may like the pool at the DLH better. Both are nice, and both have the advantages, but for us we decided the room size trumped the location.

You'll have a great trip whichever you choose!

Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance ... because we have the Marriott points to burn (and we couldn't get into the Grand). Added bonus: It's got a great pool and rooms can sleep six (two queens, and a bunk bed).

We are staying at Fairfield Inn Anaheim on Harbor this September. We've never stayed there before so this will be a first for us. The main reason I chose this place was for the location. We will have a double stroller so I did not want to try and pack that on a shuttle...we need to be able to walk to the parks. I'm looking forward to the day we get to leave the stroller home and expand our options of hotels a bit .

I booked our vacation through Getawaytoday and they had already sold out of their rooms at HOJO which is where we stayed last year so I decided we'd try the hotel next door this time :). We needed something with at least a pool for the kids and also a fridge. The free parking (at least through getawaytoday, not sure the hotel directly offers this) was also a plus since we'll be driving in from out of state. This hotel seemed to fit our requirements. Hopefully it's a successful stay but most of the reviews seem to be good.

So I've been reading through this thread because we were hoping to maybe stay at a resort property for our trip in Nov/Dec. I haven't booked anything yet, because I'm waiting for the passholder discounts (which typically come out in September for this time frame.)

Of the three DL resorts, my opinion is that the rooms at the Grand are the smallest and darkest. The biggest are at PPH and then DLH are just a tad smaller than PPH. What's great about PPH and DLH is that most of the rooms come with a couch, which is nice. The rooms are also very bright and cheerful at both and the headboards at the DLH are so cute!!! I do agree that the Grand is convenient, but the other two are not that much farther of a walk (especially if you room at the grand is at the end of a never ending hallway).

We are staying at BWPPI, because of the location and good reviews here. We stayed at PVI last time and it was great, but more expensive for our next trip. I needed to check out a second close location for a future trip with more family anyway. Prior to that we stayed at PPH and GCH, both are nice, but.....a couple we met while waiting for RSR brought to my attention that staying off site saves enough money to afford APs and more frequent trips......I should probably thank them:)
Sorry what is all the abbreviations? :o

We are staying at the FairField Inn. My 13 year old son and his Performing Art Club will have a show at DCA.

We usually stay at one of the Disney hotel (Paradise Pier or Grand California) . But we booked the hotel and airfare at a later time.

We're staying at the Tropicana, as we have on 3 previous trips. We love the location and it's quick and easy walk to the park. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable, and we've always gotten great service as well. The price doesn't hurt either :)

We just booked airfare for a trip in March 2017. Last time, we stayed at HOJO (May 2012) so that's where we'll most likely stay again. Looks like current price is $172, hoping that'll come down some.

We've also stayed at the Carousel (Sept 2008) and it was great. Free hot breakfast, at the time. We had one of the accessible rooms across the parking lot, and it was very quiet and felt more upscale than the rooms in the hotel itself.

Wow, that's really high. We just made reservations for PVI and it was $137 before we told them we were return customers. Then they knocked an additional $13 a night off.

My husband, two year old son and I are staying at the HoJo for four nights in mid September. I picked this hotel after a lot of research and listening to the DIS review. I like the proximity to the parks and the price. My son also adores splash pads. I booked via dreams unlimited travel. This is our first DL trip and also our first time using dreams. I welcome any tips and advice.

Well, we should stay at the PPH (budget wise). But I have a feeling we'll end up at the Grand (we love the convenience and DS deserves it, the trip is a reward for him).

Great, thank you!

We don't spend much time at the hotels. Because I'm coming through Canada, the best way around the exchange rate is to go through a travel agent. When I checked the room rates, it was actually cheaper to stay at GCH than DLH. I'm assuming that it was a higher level room at DLH, but she wasn't sure. We're going to check again in September when they release the winter sales (we're there end of Nov/early Dec, and there have been sales at that time of year the last few years.)

My youngest will have just turned three, so might still be wanting a short nap in the afternoon, though that's not a for sure thing.

We just booked a trip in December and will stay at the Grand CA. It's got the most beautiful lobby during Christmas. The gigantic tree is fantastic. You can't help but feel Christmas magic while you're there.

I'm not sure if you saw it, but they are having an end of summer sale on rooms right now as high as 25% off at both hotels.

We are in the process of planning a trip for June 2017 and looks like we are staying at DLH. My fiancé and I are going with 6 people who have never been before, and want to have them get the full experience. Especially the kids that are going. I have stayed both off site, and on site at PPH. PPH was great. The staff was amazing, the onsite food, and beverages are tasty, great views. Staying on site has always made the trip a great experience. I am very excited to stay at DLH.

We are going in early September and staying at HoJo. Couple reasons: I really wanted to stay at GC for the first time this go around, but we decided against it so we can instead use that money for week and a half in January to Aulani. We are taking my father in law so he can watch the kids at bed time and we can have some time to ourselves this trip, so either a one bedroom or two hotel rooms in GC would have been prohibitively expensive.

The second reason, HoJo looks like it has a nice pool. With my kids, I probably could have told them we were going to HoJo for the water park for a week and they would have been thrilled.

The third reason, we are leaving the bubble this trip. We are doing Knotts and US one day each. I have stayed at the Pier and DLH both, and I do love the magic, but on another level, I think it will be nice to branch out and sit down at a normal restaurant and not be totally immersed in disney the whole week.

DCV owner, so Grand is always where we stay.
Love, love, love it  That is the reason we bought into DVC to start with
