Increased ticket prices coming soon?

For most it's about more than just a price increase. It's about the possibility of a whole New pricing structure, that for some could make or break their vacation.
If they go tiered it's going to make the 5 to 10 dollar increases seem like a good thing. $110 is going to be a base price. I wouldn't be shocked to see $200 at Christmas.

But there's really nothing to plan in this case. If your vacation is more thank 6 months away the chance that the prices will have gone up before then approaches 100%.

So what advantage is there in buying the tickets 1 day before they go up as opposed to 14?

Well, for me, I'm wondering if I can wait until my next credit card billing cycle to purchase tickets for my upcoming trip or not...

So you're able to get FP for 3 Tier 1 attractions in a single short evening?

There is a way-but another thread. However good catch, ST not TS sorry (assume you thought TSM). So one night we do RNR/TOT/ST and one night TSM/TOT/GMR. We usually also do shows with little wait like Frozen (better than most rides anyway) and B&B/VOTLM/INDY. Mix in Fantasmic and S Wars fireworks.

But heck, even ONE scheduled FP+, say RNR (as would TT at EPCOT) already would be a huge improvement on our evening after we did our other daily activities, making our ticket undeniably more valuable.

Showing there absolutely is a way to deny what LOL claimed could not be denied (there is a way, and we absolutely do get more for our ticket now), hence no response from LOL.

And by the way-UN/IOA has been a wonderful day. Great CM's etc, (many worked at WDW, some still do so its all the same people) some great detail at least at HP. Pull some G forces here and there. It does not have the "M" for us either (sorry Harry).

The best part though is coming back to WDW after for FP+ and night shows, and WDW Resorts. Makes for an incredible day.

US/IOA closes too early for us as well.

Last week it closed at 6 or 7PM. If we weirdly were staying there say HRH-we would have still hit WDW every night after that, MK was 11PM so the parade and CT Magic and Wishes at 10PM, plus 7DMT/Space/BTMR, or Illuminations each night at 9PM-love WS anyway so probably dinner and drinks first, probably even Fantasmic one night.

But since we can cover US/IOA in one day-obviously we stay at WDW with how much more it offers.

I've been to both in the same day so I can relate to how fun that is. I wish that Universal stayed open late more often but considering how amazing our Universal onsite resort was during our last trip we tended to leave the parks before closing anyway. It's just that Universal is absolutely gorgeous and yes, magical at night.

I love Universal's own different style of Magic but I can accept that it's not what everyone else is necessarily looking for. I feel lucky that I can appreciate both so much.

Yep and there's more coming, its all great news for us IMO. No reason to be anything but happy about US IMO.

As for going back to a resort for the evening-zero chance in our family and were lucky enough to be at BC/BW/BLT type resorts. Have stayed at all 3 resorts at US and we would for sure head to WDW for the evening. However-we do hit the resort for pool time most days. Keep in mind all "kids" are over 21 now so you can do the math. But can see why folks would at WDW and US resorts.

I can see going there 2 days eventually if a 3rd park opens, although even HP is already getting boring for us, don't even look at the shops any more, the train is just for transport now, the 2 rides are great and DC is still a fave.

Really hoping for a 3rd gate and that it has some great stuff.

Actually we stayed at the fourth US resort and I much prefer it. No we don't get Express but I loved it so much that I don't care.

I can't judge the Epcot resorts since we always stayed close to MK or elsewhere. We did spend a lot of time at AKL though. In fact DH went to a park only one day and spent our other three days in and around the resort.

I can believe that, its beautiful there, great dining, well themed, nice pools and its wonderful having the animals around.

We really don't mind US/IOA closing earlier than WDW. It's just that Wishes/Illuminations/Fantasmic/Star Wars Fireworks and soon ROL are every night, along with some other parades and shows-so why not go see one and some FP+ as well. Those are not for everyone, but they are rarely missed by our group. Now if US or IOA had similar shows every night, we would be interested in those as well.

So, if I have a package booked for later this year, at WL, and we decide to change resorts after the ticket prices go up, do my ticket prices go up too? We have been debating changing resorts due to the construction, but have been trying to wait until closer to decide.

Resort and park tickets are separate so changing resorts shouldn't require you to get new park tickets. Of course resort prices may go up too...

You may perceive a different value but that's not the same as getting more for your ticket. Regardless of how you look at it there is less to do at HS and EPCOT than ever before but ticket prices are higher than ever before meaning you get less for what you are paying.

Wrong. Getting RNR/TOT/ST (or TSM/TOT/GMR) with no wait means we can do all 3 of those AND Frozen/Fantasmic/Star Wars Fireworks, depending on time maybe B&B or VOTLM.

That includes arrival night-we would get less done on arrival night guaranteed without FP+ at DHS, and really no desire to wait an hour plus for TT at EPCOT that night.

Zero chance of doing that much in the past those evenings-so we indeed DO get more for our ticket, and FP+ alone makes it worth far more than old pricing.

Plus it makes our mornings available for whatever else we want to do. That factors in to what our ticket is worth.

Pre FP+ we would indeed hit DHS some evenings, but all we could get done is choose ONE of TSM/TOT or RNR and Fantasmic, maybe a a show.

2 of our favorites, Star Wars Fireworks and Frozen were not even offered. I'm not even sure what is closed there, but nothing we miss, and Frozen and Star Wars Fireworks are better anyway, at least for us.

That's getting different not more. You could still do ToT, GMR and ST without the need of a FP in 3 hours and still get to F! You can't overlap FP+ times and TSMM was the only one that might have taken the full hour to just do SB without FP. In fact I'd venture a guess you could have done RnR, ToT, ST and GMR in less than 3 hours and still made F!

Guess again-but why guess, FP+ has it covered now. And either way-you would be in 2 to 3 hours of lines-now we can do other things instead.

We can do all 3 in just over an hour if we want. RNR 5 to 6, TOT 6 to 7, ST 7 to 8. Just do RNR at 6, TOT at 6:15 and ST at 7. Before we could do RNR LINE at 6 and maybe get out buy 7:30. One attraction took more time.

Or do RNR at 5:55, TOT at 6:10, then you have an hour and a half to do other attractions before ST.

Indeed it is getting MORE done.

Some times we do ST at 4, RNR at 6 and TOT at 8, filling in all the other attractions and shows where we want

Maybe it's just a different definition of more. I like the classic definition involving a greater quantity which doesn't exist at HS or EPCOT but to each his own.

If you want to say "DHS offers fewer attractions than in the past, but a day ticket costs more now than then" I have no problem with that.
Although I'm not sure on the more attractions.

If you say "DHS offers better attractions now than in the past, but a day ticket costs more" I'm OK with that as well, because I think Frozen and Star Wars Fireworks are better than what it used to offer.

But to say "There is no way to deny that you get less for your ticket right now at wdw 2/12/16 on a park by park basis than you have in the past. Especially studios and Epcot." Is completely untrue. We definitely get more for our ticket.

If hopping to DHS and doing RNR/TOT/ST/Frozen/Fantasmic and Star Wars Fireworks is more than RNR and Fantasmic-then yes it is more by definition, classic or otherwise.

DHS does offer less attractions now than in the past that's a fact.

Offering better attractions is an opinion. I like the Star Wars fireworks but others might not, and DHS has never had a permanent fireworks show and even now the Star Wars fireworks aren't permanent.

It is also opinion to say you get more for your ticket at DHS and Epcot now than you did in the past.

See above. I have no problem with that.

Agreed. Maybe a list would help.

Ah so things may be closing. I wonder if anything will be opening?

It is also opinion to say you get more for your ticket at DHS and Epcot now than you did in the past.

Not for us-its a fact. At a minimum-it can be "denied".
