DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Happy Friday morning. Not sure if I posted this yet, but found out dd qualified for regional swim meet in at least one event. I am really proud of her, especially as she is in 8th grade and swimming this is HS team. I don't think she will qualify this year for state, but she's definitely making progress.

Well done! Nice step up for her.

Have a great day. Start drinking early. :drinking1

Ever wonder what a magic kingdom out door food cast members eat on there breaks after working hours in the hot summer sun, smiling and being happy for hours, listening to people complain it cost to much,it's raining, why don't you have silverware, where's the restroom, asking if your hot in that "uniform", a Mickey ice cream sandwich, a Mickey bar?........ Nope!! Lol
Maybe they sit in a spot where they can see the guest having fun, listening to Disney park music? Dreaming of what there going to do in the park after they get off there shift? ........?
Nope lol!! They huddle by themselves or with one other person quietly listening to ac/dc !!! Lol

Another great meet. Brian. Another nice guy with a great family. He is one along with a few others I met when I took dd for the cp. I was in a cloud that entire time. If I got eight hours sleep in three nights I was lucky. I was happy she got the opportunity to do it, sad I had to leave her and mad I never had the chance to do it when I was a kid. I lived through her the eight plus months she was there.
I learned a few things through her...... One of the things I learned, it don't matter what you do for a living, it may seem like heaven and yes it has it's perks but a job is a job. we were talking one day and I don't recall the exact conversation but she ask me a question. She said "do you spend your vacation where you work?"
She said she didn't want to make a career at wdw and when she ask me that.........I got it.
She told me she had a great time, made a lot of friends and loved working in the mk but she wanted to keep wdw as her vacation spot. A place to have fun and make memories.
Its a lot different behind the name tag than in front of it, it's not all pixie dust and fairy pee. She didn't want to kill the magic for her and I feel the same way. I always want to keep it as my vacation spot!

Question 1:

Does a bag of pistachios count as dinner?

Question 2:

If you are on the couch watching Curling Night in America on NBCSN are you bored?

Update: After the 4th end, US leads Scotland 2-1 but I don't like the US's chances. Should have scored 2 in the 4th and only got 1. Scotland has the hammer now. The women are up 5-1 on Scotland though.

Work for government, and then you too can have no pay and no stress as well - until budget cuts are announced I've not kept a bottle at the office for some time as the cleanup staff were going thru drawers and helping themselves. They never found my stash, but wanted to be on the safe side.

Sad part is, I do work for the government, indirectly. I'm a government contractor.

1. I don't think I've ever eaten pistachios. Can't help you on that one.
2. It sounds good to me. But I'm Canadian. Curling is kind of a thing up here.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Enjoy Super Bowl weekend.

Or the NHL Center Ice Package then you would always have a hockey game to watch. I tend to hit the PlayStation when TV has nothing to watch which really ticks me off considering my cable bill amount each month - that many channels and nothing to watch?

You know your up early heading to the bus stop to go to the magic kingdom and the sun isn't up yet.lol
Have to get on the first bus. Lol
Made me remember our first trip during Christmas / New Years. Reading about the crowd levels we hit MK on our first day for an early open that was at 7:00 a.m. First pic is us at bus stop at 6:00 a.m. Other pic is never have been to park so early in the a.m. that the building lights were on :rotfl:I remember we did like half the park before 10:00 had breakfast at Crystal Palace and then headed over to a less crowded EPCOT for the rest of the day.

Played tennis this AM, oldest to swim (twice), and younger to futsal. It is nice to settle in and watch UK crush Florida basketball.

Yes, pistachios count as dinner. If you had an avocado or green beer, then you get a vegetable. I can go thru a bag of those really quickly.

State University. I'm double government bureaucracy. :scared1: :sad1: :lmao:

My Super bowl plans are....

Going to a restaurant/bar I like for lunch and a take out order of wings (probably). A neighbor is having a semi block party and I don't feel like cooking.

Prediction: Unfortunately, Carolina 24-13. I will however semi-root for the losers. Not a fan of Peyton or Newton but I have to have some skin in the game.

Did not like Cam ever since he transferred (would have been thrown out) from Florida. He got caught steeling a student's computer and when the University Police came to interview him, he chucked it out his dorm window. Not something that would get you thrown off an Urban coached team but the University was going to do it for "academic integrity" issues. Florida takes that stuff seriously. And Peyton did go 0-4 against the Gators. So he has that going for him. Just hope it is a good game.

You are missing out on pistachios, great treat. Expensive but CVS had a 2 for 1 sale on. I enjoy curling but I should have better things to do on a Friday night.

Not a fan of hockey for a while except the Panthers are doing well this year. Saw a few of their games on TV. I'm trying to get rid of cable but want some of the channels for now.

Nice pic Zerf. Seen that many times, including sometimes when I check into the hotel.

Nice family shot. Rope drop enthusiasts for a while. We were at WDW last year and our neighbor's family was there. One of the girls (good friend of the kid) made it to rope drop with us. First time in a dozen or so trips she did that and was in awe. Poor child, I blame the parents.

It is nice to settle in and watch UK crush Florida basketball.

Shut up. UGLY, UGLY Game! I think we are still only one back of UK.

I have to remember that. We do have an avocado tree but mostly I just let the squirrels eat them.

Still one of my favorite resorts. Staying in the A frame of the contemporary, theme park view. Stayed twice and each time we would lay in bed watching wishes. I could sit on the balcony for hours just watching all the buses and boats.

If I had to name my favorite resort, I like them all but if I had to name one...... The poly. Has to be it. We stayed twice at the poly in the last five years. We had a standard view and also we decided to spend a bonus check instead of investing it and let B. Spend it when we die and got a magic kingdom view.
B. And I went for a walk just about every morning over to the grand and around the poly. The smell of bacon from ohanas every morning, the grounds......... If you told me I had to pick one and that is where I would have to stay from now on...... This is it. Looking forward in staying here in a dvc studio.

One less mystery of life.

Yes.

Possibly suicidal.

2. It sounds good to me. But I'm Canadian. Curling is kind of a thing up here.

I'm Canadian. I'd rather not watch curling, thank you. Now paint drying. There's excitement.
Well... okay. Given a choice between golf and curling, I'll take curling. If I want to stare at the sky all day, I'll just go outside.

Nice.

I love the clown!! Lol

So you're the one!

I could have sworn it said my name when I turned to leave. Lol

It did. "Don't worry about the lack of life guards... come in the water with me..."

Can you find my kid in this picture?

Took a while!

Lol. No life guard or anyone around. The only thing that made me stand there long enough to take a picture and get that close was I knew I had to be on a security camera. Lol. If a was a security guard for that area, I would get on the p.a. System and whisper to anyone wondering in the pool area. Lol "psssst, get ouuuut!" Lol
