Sirenia 88's LTR "Mickey we have a modem"

Tonight is the calm before the storm. I managed to change the oil and perform a basic service to the truck... the driveway. I ran out of the time at work to do it on the nice concrete floor. The 3/4 gravel felt like a back massage! However, the truck is now serviced. My wife will have it rolling around tomorrow to get those really last minute items while I am just dealing with another at work. We are less than 24 hours out from rolling out....

This report will soon turned to live
We have been "live" since 5:30PM on Tuesday. We stopped in northern Virginia around 11:30pm for some rest. Then got up at 4:30AM and on the road at 5:00AM. Right now crackerbarrel stop for breakfast.

Hopefully the next report will be coming from Disney....

Travelling had been good until this state called south Carolina. It took 4 hours of total driving due to the detour. They send you down 20 to 77 them back to 26 for the rest of 95. It adds about 75 minutes of additional travel time. We got into Georgia at 330 this afternoon. Ball park for parking ina site right is looking like it will around 9 or so at this point.

More when I can. We are taking a Mc Donalds stop.

Safe travels, the detour sucks and heard that from multiple people dealing with it. Really hope they can make the repairs and open the interstate sooner rather then later, I think in the long run it will help the state and that area fund recovery.

Greetings from the Fort!

We rolled in about 9 PM last night. After check in, my wife and I scrambled to get a trailer semi functional with electric and lights. I needed to get to bed early for a fishing excursion in the morning.

This morning. What a way to wake up. The fishing was descent. My guide kept apologizing for the fishing not biting. However by the end, I caught 4 bass all together. So the fishing was not bad in my eyes. I loved the experience. After the fishing was over, I paid a visit to Snowmedic. I wanted to make sure he got my present for him. Which his sign was proudly displayed at the loop road. I had a gift sent towards me, which shall be cherished at breakfast. Off to Trails End for breakfast!

After breakfast, my wife and I completed our trailer set up. However, I will need a few things to complete the halloween decor but the disboard sign is up. After that, I got a cable modem for the trailer so now we have internet with better access. More to come!

Thanks again for the gift. We are going to be having dinner from trails end, GAG, we didn't do it our first night here because of going over to the Cocoa area and returning late. Went by your site this evening but no cart outside. You still have my number, text or stop by and we will go up to Crockett's to get that cold one. See ya around.

I have been checking the thread via mobile but it has been trying. However, here it goes since i am back in the trailer for a few minutes of down time.

Since the last update on Thursday, we found out we didn't have everything we needed to get the site set up. It was determined a Walmart run would be needed. At this point we had a reservation for the archery program at the fort. My DD was interested in wanting to use a bow. She did very well for her first time. I myself never used a compound bow before. However, I did well too. As the instructor said, you are not trying to split arrows but the technique is perfect. BTW, the class was pretty big at 8 people and 5 targets. Everyone had the opportunity to shoot a number of arrows.

After archery, we went back to the trailer to get our suits on for the pool. DD and I went down the water slide a number of times and swam around some more. New world record for me, I found the hot tub within 24 hours of arrival. Personal best. Before leaving we all ran into snow medic posting his updates from poolside. (We were at TE but didn't see you.)

Trails End was pretty good for dinner. Everything was excellent including our waitress who remembered us from last November. After dinner, we headed back to the site as the DD and DW were tired. I made my rounds of the campground to find other disboarders. Many were either out and about or in their trailers. However, I got to meet Serentygr and her family. What an awesome group. Her DH had some good tales to tell. Her energy is unbelievable as well with the kids and all. IF you don't know she is the one who took the time to figure out who was going in October. Then processed it into usable format for others. Finally I would edit my original posting.

Friday, We started the day with a trip to MK. First stop, the Crystal Palace for Poo and Friends Breakfast. Yumm puffed french toast! Everything was excellent as always. After breakfast, we headed to make our first fast pass stop, mine train. Then off to a couple of princess meet and greets for the DD. Merida is always a hit with the DD and the DW do to the hair. (when you meet the DW and DD you will understand.) We do other rides within MK as well. We decided to leave around 3:00 since we wanted to get out to Walmart to get the items we needed for the site decor.

We had a plan at walmart. Here is what we need no browsing or the usual trip wanderings. While shopping, a lady and her daughter were trying to find a charging adapter for their cell phone. Only problem they were on vacation from Brazil and spoke very little english! Of course I didn't have the google translation app on my phone but we managed to get through and get her a charger for their phone. Ironically, my DW does travel internationally once in awhile and has an electrical kit for stuff like that. We got back in time to make it our dinner at Wilderness Lodge's Whisper Canyon Cafe...

Since I am now out of time, I will have to leave this for the next time. We are heading to Chef Mickey's in a few minutes.

Back from the park all kinds of action. However, let first take up where I left off earlier.

The family and I went to Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner. This trip has been about trying other places at different resorts. Whispering Canyon was one of them. What a really unexpected dining experience. The food was very good. The portions were good sized. However the service was awesome. Why? Cause it was really different. For instance, when you ordered drinks, the waitress brought the drinks back but then toss the napkins and straws across the table. Then walked away. You may think that not good service but that is the way the experience is set up. Like I told my wife don't ask for ketchup. You will get 20 bottles worth! Laugh too hard at a joke. You become the joke. The staff make the diners engage them and each other. During my dinner, I laughed too hard at a joke the waitress made then was made to "model" for the others. Then another guy had to sing "I'm a little Tea Cup" I got dragged in to helping him. So instead, I got the other dads and guys in the dining section to join in. The whole section was just in total laughter. However all got it. I felt sorta of bad for the guy that guy sucked into it since he was with his girlfriend or wife. They didn't have children so he most likely didn't know the song all too well. However, I got everyone going with saying I really disappointed in the dad that didn't know the song either. Start practicing for the next time. Everyone had a good time in our section. If you are looking for a different dinning experience, this could be it. Just real good time.

Today we headed out to MK again. We went to the CR for Chef Mickeys. MY DD was all about the dining experience. The food was pretty good. The pancakes were awesome. I thought the bacon was too greasy though. However, they had tater tots! After that, we made our way to MK for a BBB experience for the DD. While waiting for her appointment we did the Scourers of MK game which we started last year. The DD got really into it. As luck would have it, we got several portals by the castle.

Out of time yet again... Will update later. Off to TE for some dinner and then possibly pool and maybe find a Tiggerdad...

I'm here this evening sirenia88, sitting outside and typing away and saying "hello" to everybody stopping by to see the decorations. Came by your place earlier but nobody seemed to be around. We are eating taco soup tomorrow evening around 6-7pm so if you have no prior plans come on over and join us. If not we will cross paths at some point.

1) Had a GREAT visit, today, with tiggerdad and family.
2) I arrived on-time (OK, three minutes early) and we had about a 3-hour discussion.
. . . I brought some gifts for the family members
. . . I brought a Cast-Member-Only costume item for tiggerdad
. . . they welcomed me onto their campsite
. . . they gave me conversation and friendship
. . . my gifts paled in comparison
. . . I felt honored
3) During the time we talked and told stories, the elder child sat in a chair next to us.
. . . she offered a comment every now and then, when appropriate
. . . I asked her if she was bored
. . . in a way that ONLY a 10-year-old could offer, she said, "Nope, I'm Good".
. . . cute
4) Looking forward to their next journey to The Fort . . . . . . . . .

You know I gave up on trying the LTR. It was just being too busy and taking everything in. However, I now have faces to the names on the board. At this point, we don't know what we are planning to do for the next vacation. Our plans at this time are really varied as looking to buy a larger home is in the works for next year. The next time we are not thinking the Fort, we might wind up flying in and staying at a resort. Which one? Don't know. There is also some rumor about Disney may be sailing out of New Jersey/ New York. We are thinking possible cruise. (Not a boat person.) However, there is a memory maker to be downloaded when I get the time. Then there is about 30 GBs of photos from 2 cameras that need to be gone through and stored. Time to go back into hibernation and not think about Disney...until the credit card is paid off evil grin!

Time to go back into hibernation and not think about Disney.

Is that even possible? Disney is all I think about. I am sitting at a table full of scratch paper writing down things to bring and what we already have. Even put my vacation clothes in a drawer so all I would have to do is grab the duffle bag and put everything in it with out having to look for it.

11/01/2015, Off Topic:
. . . Is she dancing around the house after yesterday's football game?
. . . Or, playing it low-key?

So... The seeds are being planted... Thinking Wilderness Lodge... for Spring break 2016. Yeah I know. If we do it, will have to act fast as in airline tickets, rooms and park tickets. Humm... don't know.
