Wine and Dine 2015

The weather here in northern New England is getting more pleasant for running, so I've actually been more motivated. :) We had a long stretch of 100% humidity and hot temps, and it was just brutal, but it's been drying out the past week and starting to feel fall-like in the mornings!

Does anyone know how convienent are the swan and dolphins for the wine and dine half?
It would be very convenient. I believe the Boardwalk is a host resort for the event, which is within walking distance from the Swan and Dolphin. So you could walk over there to catch the transportation to the expo and start line. Then after the race/after party, you can walk from Epcot back to the Swan and Dolphin.

Beach club is too - probably about the same walk though! But you could take whichever bus comes first home from the expo.

I am really sorry if this has been asked before but that's a LOT of pages to search..

Most of my Disney races have been DL, this is my second DW. We are staying at the BC and I was wanting to go to AK from packet pick up, but I don't know what to do w/ all our stuff.... it took forever to get from GF to packet pick up for Princess...should we assign one person to cab ride back and forth? Lockers? Just carry in a backpack?

Also to confirm, the $15 cards have not yet been sent :)?

BC should not be as long, it is closer to ESPN than GF. (Fwiw, I loathe bussing at the MK area resorts because it always seems to take forever). But I have stayed BC for a few races now and never had any issues with bussing. Also, the expo busses do not run directly to any parks, only to the race host resorts. So you couldn't go directly to AK anyways. If they have separate resort busses for the expo for BC and BWI, you could take whichever one comes first though. BWI is right across from the BC. Just walk across a bridge. You will love BC :)

And no to the card, I have not gotten mine yet either

You could do the locker/backpack thing and catch one of the buses to the All-Stars, and then on to AK. They are host resorts and on the way to AK.

Hi! The jingle jungle 5k will be my first ever run and I'm very excited. I have a couple questions im hoping someone can answer for me.
We will be staying at Pop century, will there be busses that can take me to the expo? Also do I need to bring my conformation email when I go to the expo?
I will be running alone. Will there be cast members who can take pictures of you with the characters?
My family is coming to animal kingdom to see me at the end of my race. Will there be buses that can take us to the kid races? Or would we be better taking a taxi?
Thanks so much! I hope this is a okay place to post this. Hoping next year I'll be ready to run wine and dine.

Any one else just feeling blah about running lately? I'm excited for Wine and Dine and the race but the heat has been so ridiculous this year (90 in NYC first week of september crazy!) so I'm having a hard time finding motivation.

It's been the same here in central Iowa. We had a stretch of low 70's, low humidity. This week we're back up to 90+ heat index. I typically would love it except it interferes with training. :worried:

Pop is one of the host resorts for the race so there will be buses from there to the expo. You don't need confirmation for the expo, anyone can go in. I don't know if all of the characters have handlers who can take photos but if not, one of your fellow runners will be happy to do it :) I'm not sure about the answer for the kids race question though. Hopefully someone else here will know that.

I'm sure you'll have a great race!

Thanks so much! How long would you estimate to get from expo back to BC and to AK?

There are lockers at the front of AK. If you decide to change parks, turn in your locker key at AK and take your receipt to the next park so you don't have to pay again on the same day.

At about three weeks before the race the "wavers" link on the Wine and Dine 1/2 website will become active. It wouldn't hurt to print the waver and bring it along. Also, you will need a photo ID to pickup your number bib, race shirt and swag. The biggest change is that you must pickup your own bib at the expo, no pickup for others. This has been the case for recent Disney races.

Kid races use the same expo transportation to WWoS. The expo tends to be a little more crowded while the kids races are happening. Families combine packet pickup with kid races.

Oh gosh, let me think here. I remember the expo busses coming very regularly. I didnt wait more than 5-10 min each time. And we went straight there. On the way back i think we stopped at YC first but that was it. It was a short drive, 10 minutes or so. I would probably guess a half hour either way. Plus time to walk to your room and back to the bus stop. And then waiting for the AK bus. I will guesstimate somewhere between 75 to 90 minutes if all goes well. All depends on when a bus arrives, of course. But that is a vague idea!

Thanks for the info. I am thinking to go down to AK first then to All Stars to the expo, but that may rule out the ability to buy certain things. Ah decisions :)
