Chit Chat Thread - November ADRs...

I buckled

I agree with @Dustifer that I really hate these sites, as I think it encourages hoarding and shouldn't be needed to plan a friggin' vacation. I am also usually the one saying, "just keep looking, you'll find something." But lately I've searched 10 times a day for 4 different restaurants (and not even super popular ones) over like 10 days and zero comes up. So I broke down and paid $3.99 and set up the 4 searches. I got sucked in and, honestly, part of my feels guilty and wants to go cancel my searches, but for $3.99 it has saved me a lot of time and gotten me at least on of my reservations.

I agree that I don't think they should be needed to plan a vacation but thanks to hoarders and other circumstances it seems like the only way. I want to get the most out of my dining plan and if that means spending money and getting a site to search for me, so be it! I'd rather spend my time away from Disney's reservation page :) I really just don't get all the hate but everyone is different ;)

I've never felt guilty using these sites, and you shouldn't either! :) I don't think they encourage hoarding, I think they become more necessary BECAUSE of hoarding. If people didn't hoard, there wouldn't be as much need to use them because there would be more ADRs available! I hope you get the ADRs you're looking for!!

So I was finally able to snag a MM dinner for our HS night; however, it's for 7:30! :scared: We already agreed to skip Fantasmic and see the Osborne lights, but I don't know if I want to take the risk missing the lights because of this dinner. I feel like there will be so fewer attractions open by the time we go that we could make out fine and be done all the rides and shows we want by 6:00 or so. I don't know what time the lights are turned on, but the restaurant is right there by the Streets of America so we could stay outside right up until our reservation time I'm thinking. Does anyone think this is a bad or potentially bad reservation to keep? I'm keeping my CMC dinner for backup in case I decide this is too risky. The whole point of eating at MM was to stay in the park and maximize our time there. AGHHH!! Planning this vacation is getting to be a headache! :headache:

So there is a (small) discount for Disney Visa cardholders for MNSSHP. Does it stand to reason they will offer a discount for MVMCP? I've been trying to wait to book the Christmas party in case, but I hate to miss out on the night we want to go!

I found a few openings for a Boma bfast on Fri Nov 27, but have never been to AKL at all. We have a group of 7 that morning. We get in late thanksgiving night and will have had fancy meals of PB&Js all day ☹
I'm curious about a couple of things if anyone can help me out.
2 adults, 3 kids<10, 2 infants...is it $15/person for breakfast? (plus tax&gratuity)
can you see any animals from the restaurant area/can you walk to a viewing area at AKL?
we're staying at Pop, any tips on best way to get our crew around to see decorations -and eat breakfast - as we're not doing any parks that day?

There is a sticky thread on the main dining board with all the buffet pricing

Here is Boma

Boma: (incl tax, excl tip)
bfast . . . 02/01/2015 Adult: $23.42, Child: $12.77

dinner. . . 11/15/2015 Adult: $40.46, Child: $21.29

There are many places to wander and explore. Akl is one of the best themed resorts wdw has
Lots of animal viewing areas also. If you have time, head over to kidani too.

I read on another board a rumor that Jedi Training could be shutting down in early October to relocate but not open until early December. Anyone heard anymore specifics??

This would break my heart. Seriously half the reason we're taking our trip when we are is for my son to do this on his birthday, Nov 30th. Hopefully it's just a rumor!

Just read on the Nov cancellations thread that Sci-Fi is now offering a breakfast. Looks like it's available from Nov through 3rd week in January and reservations are open now. The full menu isn't listed but there are some things listed and a little info about it. Just grabbed an 8 am reservation for our HS day. :)

What's everyone's experience with San Angel Inn in regards to seating.. We want to sit outside at dusk. I've tried to book a reservation but in the details it tells me that it's for seating inside only, so I cancel out. I've been told it starts getting dark around 6:30 is that accurate? How do we get seated outside?

There are still a lot of openings at Sci-Fi for breakfast in Nov. I wonder if it's due to the lack of characters or the limited menu? The menu seems to have some delicious offerings. I snagged an ADR for our HS day. Guess I'll wait and see what the reviews are after the first few days.

There is no seating outside. The restaurant is indoors and the setting makes it appear as if you are outside.

I know this isn't ADR related, but has anyone done their FP+ reservations? My date is next Friday and I'm curious if FPs are going to be as hard to get as ADRs.

I grabbed a sci-fi 8am breakfast, should be fun! Now to figure out how to get there, I'm not sure buses run that early to HS.

I'm not sure if they are as hard to get like ADRs because I haven't done it yet. My FP+ date isn't until a few days after you. But I got this website from the disboard's thread about FP+ strategies. It shows what FP+ are available for certain dates all the way up until mid-Nov right now. Hope this is helpful:
