We did the June 17 pre-cruise and had a great time. While I agree that a lot of the adventures could have been booked on our own for a lot less, we would not have met a great family and kept meeting them through out the cruise afterwards, plus the little surprised and the enthusiasm of our guides was not something we would have seen on our own. Our guides, Robyn and Amber were so enthusiastic and a couple of the locals they secured were also very good. I think one lesson learned for me is to travel in a day ahead to get over the jet lag. I felt Groggy most of the adventure and caught myself snoozing on the bus rides to the Viking Museum and Castles, also would have given more time to do some shopping as with the ABD you are busy and not a lot of free time. While we were there it rained much of the time, so we had to make adjustments. It rained off and on while we were at Tivoli and we probably could have spent more time there on our own, but we were so tired and getting wet. We ate dinner that night at Tivoli at an Italian restaurant (got caught in a rainstorm and found the first restaurant). It was good, but would have like to have eaten at a Danish restaurant.
Note for those of you wanting to buy wine/beer before the cruise: there is a shopping mall a brief walk from the Tivoli. Inside is a store grocery plus store. We found out about it the night before we left Copenhagen and went over after breakfast and before departing the hotel to pick up some Wine.
