Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

28 days from the Poly and 33 days from the BC.

All that's left to do is pack and buy our "supplies." I always buy toilitries just for the trip and have them set aside. I don't pack until the night before we leave. I figure I need my stuff up until that point. Clothes, underwear, brush, makeup, etc.

Hi All, we are staying at beach club aug-15-19 and today i received an email from disney saying that the resort will be undergoing renovations. Does anyone know excatly what will be going on? I thought they were done with the room renovations? thanks so much!

By this time in 18 days, we will likely be on the Magical Express to Disney! If I went by the countdown - it says 19. So, you could say I'm counting the hours now. I pulled out the packing list about two weeks ago, and again today. I can not wait until the day before to pack with two female teenagers. Oh the stress of not having anything to wear! I attempted to get the bathing suit count at least a month ago. Stores around here no longer have any of those in stock, just the left overs. I actually had to order board shorts and swim shirts that block UV, since they really do not sell them locally in Maryland - for females. I keep asking who needs shorts, but the silly kids think they will wear long jeans everyday.

We arrive on Sunday, August 16 for our first ever 3 night stay at the Yacht Club, or any Epcot resort for that matter, before heading over to the Polynesian for another 3 nights.

I've booked and IllumiNations fireworks cruise for that night, Sunday, August 16. We are a family of 3 (me, DW and DS(12)) looking for up to 7 others to join us and split the cost of the cruise. It's $346.13 with tax total. Looking to divide the total cost by the number of cruisers or split 50/50 with another family of 3-5 people. Park admission is not required.

I posted this in the "IllumiNations and Wishes Cruises - Find One To Share" thread in the "Theme Parks Community" sub-board of the "Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies" board but thought I would duplicate that post here since the cruise launches from the Yacht Club pier.

Is anyone interested in joining us?

Hi, we are staying at the Beach Club this fall. When I was looking at the room pics on TouringPlans, it seemed like all the second floor rooms had balconies, is that right? We have a garden view booked, but I'd like to phrase my request so we have a nice view and a balcony...any tips would be greatly appreciated!

We won't be there in August, but just wanted to say Go Bruins!

I apologize if that has been covered ad nauseum, but if I'm booked in a standard view BC room and I request a full sized balcony room not on the first floor will I be in a bad location? I think those are my priorities. I don't mind walking too much, but when I stayed at the YC years ago I remember quite the maze of hallways.

Touring Plans is usually wrong about things. Although the second floor has a lot of full balconies, there are some rooms with standing balconies. None of the floors at the BC have 100% full balconies. :(

BC has plenty of twisty halls, so be prepared for that. ;) There are very few, if any, standard rooms on the first floor. You might want to request close to elevator, and then the room would be both conveniently located and you would reduce the chance of getting lost in the maze of hallways. :)

I'm not going to say the room wasn't packed considering we also had a double stroller, but we didn't mind at all. We were just so happy to be in Disney! :cloud9:

We will have a double stroller as well, but we are going with family so maybe they will allow us to store the stroller in one of their rooms. Like you said about the room being cramped, I'm not to worried about it as we don't plan on spending much time in the room except to sleep.

A standard view is a guaranteed view of a parking lot or a roof. There are very few, if any, standard view on the first floor. If you want to be close to Epcot and far away from the lobby, you can request full balcony close to Epcot. If you want to be close to the lobby, just request full balcony close to lobby. The YC and BC are pretty much the same layout as far as the hallways. But in my opinion even if you were in a room real real far away, it would still be less walking than at let's say the Poly or GF where you have to go outside to another whole building. And the hallways are all air conditioned!!

What a great thread!! Almost time for a return to the YC! This will be the second time we've repeated at a resort (Poly is the other), but it's been awhile. I was going to do online check in but the only options are ground floor, lower floor, upper floor, and near elevator. We don't want ground. We do want a quiet area, and we want either a room with the daybed so the kids can each sleep alone, and/or with space to have a cot brought in if available. The cot may actually be preferable. Can I/Should I call for these requests? Should I not do online check in?
Thanks!!

Would have loved to join you but unfortunately we do not arrive until the 29th. Hopefully someone else can enjoy this with you and your family

Hello!! DH and I are returning to Disney World in November to celebrate our first anniversary. Originally we booked a bounce back offer to POR, but yesterday I decided I wanted to surprise DH when we arrived and made a spur of the moment change to Yacht Club GV CL. It will be our first stay at a deluxe resort, and I'm looking forward to being able to walk or take a boat to Epcot and DHS. Needless to say, I'm now having to educate myself on all things YC/BC and CL. I've started reading through this thread but definitely haven't made it all the way through yet, so I apologize if my question has already been asked/answered.

I noticed that people are predicting renovations will start at Yacht Club in early fall. I realize there is no way to know for certain when that will start or how long it will take, but I'm wondering how long the CL lounge and 5th floor renovations took over at BC? For comparison's sake, assuming they started w/ the CL lounge and 5th floor at Yacht Club as well, I'm trying to roughly gage the odds of us being mid-construction (or having the lounge/5th floor completed before our trip) if they started construction in September or October. Thanks in advance for any insight yall can provide with regard to the timeline of the construction over at BC's CL! :)

May I join you in the 1 month dance???

:banana::banana::banana:

One month until Beach Club!!!

ME TOO! ME TOO!!!!!

ME three!!!!

22 days for me (but who's counting!)

Are you gonna be there at that time???

28 days from the Poly and 33 days from the BC.

A group of friends from the BC/YC FAQ thread are planning on getting together after Teena gets out of work on Sunday August 30. Place and time have not been determined yet because we don’t know how many people will be interested in meeting up. If you will be in the World at that time and think you might join us, please PM me natebenma and we will let you know the details.

Check the post on page one of this thread for the latest and greatest information on the renovation work. At this time, the prediction is they will be finshing up the work in the BC in August and will be working in rooms on the first floor. So you received the letter just to let you know that will be happening. Hope you have a really great time at the BC.
