At least Cinderella is beautiful and Prince Charming is very handsome. Gus Gus and Jaq are adorable.
These statues were moved during the hub construction. They are now by the fountains in the FP+ wishes viewing area. Half way down THIS post you can see the pictures of them.
I was a little too young to remember where a few of these were taken.
*I know it's the 80's but I still can't imagine that I was in style.
It was there when we went this past january.Could someone please tell me whether the Agent Pleakley statue in Tomorrowland is still around? My daughter LOVES Lilo and Stitch but when I google the statue I don't see any recent photos, just ones from 2008 or so. I hope they didn't get rid of it!
I can't tell you 100% if this was the case or not because I wasn't born until 1998 but I would imagine that Spaceship Earth which is the central attraction of Epcot would have been fully up and running since the Epcot park was opened.Looking through this thread has got me thinking...I went to WDW with my family back in the early 80's (1982?)- it was shortly after Epcot opened and I have childhood memories of the big golf ball thing not being completed at the time...or that we couldn't go in it because the attraction wasn't done yet. Is this accurate or is this just faulty kid memory?
For what it's worth, Pleasure Island was just one section of Downtown Disney. It also had some great dance clubs like the Rock n Roll Beach Club. Gosh I miss that place.Wow, I just found out they Downtown Disney which was once called Disney's Pleasure Island had a lingerie store called Jessica's Of Hollywood. Disney was so risque back in the day. The store closed 6 years before my time in 1992. Darn I miss all the good stuff.
We it was NOT for me. waaay too awkward. I hated it. My dad loved it. Maybe that's why I hated it...This little show was pretty darn cute even for a little girl who had no idea about the making of babies at the time.

Best thread ever.. I think the one thing that has always been my favorite is the Figment ride of the mid 90's and the play area that used to be after the ride. The rainbow lights on the ground that would make sounds as you step on them! What's funny is how last year, some 20+ years after I went as a kid, it broke down just as it did in the 90's.
It's also funny how the technology seems to have regressed in that room. The lights on the ground that you would step on became raised sound pads which half worked. My 2 year old still loved it so it was still cool that he got to experience an evolution of what I had as a kid.
Is the station with the international drink tasting still there? I could not find it last year and was so bummed
Welcome!
I am very happy you have enjoyed this thread.
Of course, Figment is my favorite character at WDW.
(Wish the old Professor and the Dream Finder were brought back.)
The drink station is still there. over by the fountain. It is fun to try the different flavors.
