FYI folks.....
Effective now folks. Keep this in mind for your Disney race registrations here on out.
OK everyone, I have a recap from Active direct. New changes so be aware for ALL future Disney events!!! (My conversation with Active 6/2/15)
I will try to summarize my questions and answer as best as possible.
*Question: I used to be able to sign onto my account and register myself. Once I did that I could also sign up my spouse or my child. Can I still do that?
*Answer. Yes and No. Yes you can sign up yourself, but if your spouse want to sign up, they need to be logged in under their own account. You will not be able to do so logged in on your own! If you have a child that is a minor, under 18, you will be able to sign up that child on your own.
(THIS IS ONLY EFFECTIVE FOR DISNEY RACES!!! Outside other events, the old procedure is still valid. Again ONLY for Disney events because they are so big).
*Question: I see you offer something called Active Advantage. In this example of wanting to sign up for a Disney race event, will I qualify for any discount should I sign up?
*Answer: Yes. You will save $10 on your registration.
*Me: Is this something new because I also have a Disney Visa and used to be able to save a discount on registrations. Has that been reinstated or is this the ONLY discount Disney will offer now, if I apply for AA?
*Answer: Yes, all Disney registrations will get a $10 discount, kids races included. The price is $64.95 and there is currently a 30 day trial period you can do for $1.99. If you do not like it, you can cancel by calling us on day 31, but you have to have fulfilled your 30 days. (and yes many have done the trial and then cancelled, so think about how many actual races you will do in the year). It goes one full calendar year, so sign up now in June 2015, you will run to the same day June 2016.
Me: Oh really? Is there a minimum amount of races I can use this against per year?
Answer: No maam.
Me: Does this work for a whole family?
Answer: No. Only you. If your spouse wants to sign up for a race event, he would have to sign up for AA on his own. He cannot use your discount to save for him. However, kids are included with you, so they too would save $10. (*Note, someone did do a registration already and though the kids race started at $20, they said they only saved $1.50. So the rep may have misquoted that info in that it is a % for the kids race and not a full $10 off. Keep this in mind.) Kids do not need to pay the $64.95.
Me: Does this work on out-of-state races say one in Arizona or Florida for example?
Answer: Yes maam, bu again only you. Any other adult in your HH would have to have their own AA in order to see the discount.
Me: Wow, sounds like a better deal to consider joining. I'm aware of it, but wasn't sure it would pay off, but yet these Disney races are getting so popular now and pricey at that, these savings will add up the more you are doing in a calendar year.
(She then gave examples of other races like say a 5K that had maybe a $4.95 fee. You'd get that taken off). Again all Disney races will have $10 at this time.
*Question: So in about 2 weeks when general registration opens, how is the best way to register many people at once that are in your household?
*Answer: You can register yourself, but I highly suggest you have any other members of your party to be on their OWN computers to register. Kids are an acception and you can register them since they are minors.
Me: OK, thank you so much for your help. This is extremely helpful information for me to know here on out.
Me: I think you have covered everything, but one last question. If I am logged in and the system says "On hold" what does that mean?
Answer: It means the que to get in is full and likely you won't be able to process your registration. You can log out and try in again, but it puts you at the end of the queue and likely the event will have sold out. (again utilize multiple computers so you can get in at once. Multiple tabs under the same browser will NOT allow you to sign in under different accounts, BUT using two different browsers WILL!) So open one in Chrome and another in Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc. to get around this.)
So there ya have it in a nutshell folks. Welcome to the new madness.
