The Split Personality Pre Trip Report (May 2015) - Back Home with a Quick Update (5/18)

I can imagine that traveling with a larger group can add to the stress. And I can completely relate to the "stress" of trying to make sure everyone is having a great time. Because of this I have always dreamed of a solo trip but I have to tell you that after spending a fair amount of time on this trip doing things solo my thoughts on that changed. I found myself really missing my people more that I thought I would.

I agree that the cast lanyards were terrible. I traded 3 pins and 2 of them were from the purchase with purchase promo lanyard. Very disappointing. I hope they refresh the cast pins before we are back this summer.

Are you feeling better? I too came down with the post trip sickness 2 days after getting home. Still struggling to shake it. I guess it's better than being sick there.

If you aren't up for a full report maybe just post a mini one here? That is what I am doing in my PTR. I would love to see pics and hear more details. :)

I will probably never travel with a group this large again...the hotel was especially crowed with six people. But we survived and no one needed bail money.
Sorry that it was a bit of a mixed bag in that regard. If DH and I ever decided to do a large family trip It would only ever be with Separate rooms so that we could each have our own space.

(yes I talk to strangers on the bus all the time
I do too!

Did not get to meet up with anyone in the parks
Sorry about that. You'll see why soonish on my TR.

I was truly thinking I could get this started this weekend...fever and coughing up a lung is not letting that happen. I will probably have to miss the Tomorrowland group outing with some friends tonight! Hopefully the rest I am getting will help me get over this quickly!
Awa feel better!

Hi Lynn,

Welcome back to reality.

Sorry to hear about the rude bus driver. I do not need a scooter myself but I have noticed the extreme rude, self-absorbed behavior of others who are impatient while a scooter is loaded. I just can't see how some people are so self-centered that they bemoan having to wait a bit. Do they really realize that they might be a bit inconvenience waiting for a ride or bus but this is just one moment in their lives WHILE the person using the scooter has to deal with this EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF EVERY DAY of his or her life!!!

Take some time to get back in the swing of things at home and then start your Trip Report or as someone mentioned already do a mini one here in this thread.

I now all about getting to the Trip Report late. I am still currently writing my own Trip Report from my Feb. 2014 trip. I have three days left to go and one of those days is the actual reason for my trip - my son's high school band marched in the Magic Kingdom. The advantage of starting my TR so late, is that I am able to relive some of the experiences and it helps me not miss WDW so much. If anyone wants something else to read, I would love to have more followers.

We all enjoyed hearing about your plans and want to hear the good and bad of the actual trip. It is nice to compare notes and some of your experiences might be helpful for anyone planning an extended family vacation.

I am sure you might have entertaining stories about the BIG princess in your group and her antics! We can all just roll our eyes and laugh along with you! Tee Hee

Don't make me laugh Mo...it makes me COUGH! :crazy2:

I have finally finished editing my photos on photopass. We have done a preliminary download, but need to do another. Then I need to get them into someplace that makes it easy to load on here...I have been using photobucket...any other suggestions out there?

But laughter is the best medicine, Lynn! Cough it on up, girl!

You folks are seriously making me cough...but at least the fever is gone...good grief, I am at least grateful that I had a three day weekend to just sit on my sofa and rest (okay retail job was upset that I could not come in Saturday...mainly because they had so many truly weird things happen where we had no one to call for replacements...although I did offer to stuff myself with meds and go in, they decided they did not need anyone else infected)...although we infected the dog whisperer (and she works at the retail job with me...oops)

I am going through pictures to try to remember more details. about the trip to write a report. So there will be one eventually.

With the new Dis, you don't need photobucket! You can just use the "upload a file" button for your photos. But, I've had to compress them down - it doesn't like 2MB photo files. ;) I just use the standard Microsoft photo editor for compressing them, nothing fancy.

So we officially downloaded all the photopass pictures last night. Is there any structure to the madness of those downloads???? We have 42 zip files downloaded (4GB total). when you look at each zip file it is like there are a gazillion duplicates...did we do something wrong? Any thoughts on how to easily edit these? I am at the point where I will pay the extra $30 for the CD just to make it easier! Good Grief!

And Mo...I can't type fast (or well) while I am healthy...add coughing to the mix and my typing is SSSSSLLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWW....

I, too, would love the suggestions. I also have a snapfish account but when I tried to insert photos from there to here, they do not show up in the actual post. The link is there and active but you have to click on it!

THANK YOU! I appreciate you sharing this bit of information. I really haven't spent much time trying to figure out all the improvements, etc with this new DIS site. So, thanks again for the huge tip!

Oh man...it is not good that I have poor Jiminy cricket ticked off!

The good news is, I have started to make some sense out of the photopass madness. I have uploaded the first 5 zipped files (out of 42) to photobucket. Now that I have a clue as to what I am doing, that process should go a little faster. I am also feeling more human today (amazing what decent sleep will do for you). So I am very hopeful that I will get a trip report going by this weekend.

Thanks for hanging in there with me folks...

200 zipped files????? Wholly Moly woman! We have a total if about 1,500 pictures downloaded but that also includes all the stock photos they include...
