Disney without kids is awesome, but once your kids get older, they'll probably prefer relaxed Disney too:) Our trips are very different from what they used to be! And when the kids are old enough, you can let them go to a nearby park alone if they have extra energy to burn...it's really nice (FYI, my kids are 16 and 11...they'll be 17 and 12 this fall...and I just started letting them go to parks alone last fall...and it was just to MK from GF. When we're at BC, I'll let them go to Epcot and HS, even though they could probably go to any of them now, especially since my older daughter looks like she's 21!)

Yes! Last year we were pretty turbo (although I never planned an early morning after late night) and while it was tons of fun we all wished for more down time at end of trip. My 17 year old daughter looks older too (she is 6'1" and 132# so she is also asked constantly if she models or plays basketball. May get her a button that says: "weather is fine-no sports-don't do heels")

This year - since staying onsite for first week-YAY!- I've planned for much more relaxed touring: Early am at park, lunch/pool, evening with FP+; The only "commando days" are going to be our Star wars days-but since staying at BC for that part we can still take a break if needed.
27 days til Disney, 31 til SWW and BC!!!

Wow, that is tall! My daughter is 5'7" which is not tall enough to play volleyball in college so she quit the school team and started coaching my 11 year old's rec volleyball team...so far they are tied for first place! We are hoping the 11 year old will at least be 5'10" (she just outgrew her size 9 women's shoes!) so she can continue with volleyball...neither of my girls are interested in playing libero which is the only position you can play if you are "short."
I hope your next trip is very relaxing, although I'm surprised you are doing anything early am! My kids won't get up...but they love to close down the parks (although 1am is where I draw the line)!

Sorry if this is answered here in this thread - I read back several pages and reviewed the first post and don't see anybody talking about refurbishments actually starting on BCV?

Has anybody seen evidence of this starting - everything I read says this should have started in March but I haven't seen anyone mentioning it. We are traveling in late October and although it will not be done by then was hoping at least a few floors would be done and some refurbished rooms would be available?

Thanks!

"Weather is fine - no sports - don't do heels". Thank you...that made my day. :thanks: :lmao:

Getting ready to head to airport for a few weeks at Jeanne's ... doubt I'll be on the boards too much. She keeps me pretty busy grading papers, etc. I'll be back at the Beach Club on the 24th!!
Safe travels!

My TA put in a room request for me but I wanted to know if I should call or fax something over a few days prior to arrival to ensure "full balcony" which is my only request? Or can I do that when I do online check in?

My third resort switch and I finally was able to get FD at Beach Club for our stay Sept 26-Oct 3!!! I've always wanted to stay here. Last trip we ate at Cape May and I fell in love, seriously a dream come true! carry on, thanks for all the info on this thread. It's def helped shape our decision.

The online check in has an option for full balcony. I always check that box. So far it is working 50% of the time, one BC room with a full balcony and one without. ;)

News about the BCV refurb has been hard to find and mostly still rumor. A person staying there in October received the construction warning letter for their October trip. Another rumor has a finish date of Dec 16th. It is supposed to start soon but no one can confirm that it has started yet.

So glad you posted this. I was told to fax my request a week before my stay. I can't find the fax number for the BC. Can someone help me with this? TIA

I will be staying at BCV at the end of July. I got a letter in March (which is when I made the reservation) saying that refurbishment will be taking place during my visit. The letter says that construction is scheduled to occur daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

I will keep my eyes crossed that your little "Mixed Martial Arts" player keeps her wires plugged in in all the right places from now on!

I really hope so! She has a dual-chamber pacemaker now with a pretty fabulous wireless transmitter. No more phone checks. We just pop the monitor on her dresser and it checks everything for us. Pretty awesome!

Have a great trip, Teena!

I'm back at work this morning after an awesome 4 nights at BC. We got a check-in pixie dust upgrade from a standard view room to a CL suite (1501)!! The room location was great; it was right next to the "secret entrance," and close to Epcot. I was hoping for a refurbished room, but I'd definitely rather have the suite.

What a great upgrade!

Sat down last night in front of the hubby armed with my notes, and suggested park days and crowd estimates for our trip. Dining day is in 7 days (gasp!) and I wanted to at least get our planned park days set in stone so I could make ADRs.
Needless to say, we didn't get much accomplished. We somehow both ended up with our tablets out looking up menus.

However, I did realize how EASY it is going to be to be able to plan more than one WS dinner this time since we have the ability to just pop over there via boat and parkhoppers in the evening! Yahoooo!!!:sail:

This trip is going to have to be a much more laid back one as I may be recovering from a heart procedure.
But thats okay, we can do relaxed :D

Our last trip was much more laid back and it was wonderful. I'm sure it's partly because we've been there often enough we don't feel like we have to do everything. I hope if you have to have a procedure it's uneventful and recovery is smooth.

My niece who is traveling with us was 5' 10" by age 15. Her mom is 6' and dad is 6'5". Both former models. She gets all sorts of nonsense questions about sports.

Watching the Lion King for the fourth time, I think. I swear, I cry each time I hear the Circle of Life. I'm a big goober.

I'm that way with Dumbo...all I have to do is start humming "Baby Mine" and I get all choked up!!

So glad things are going well for you and your family...lucky that there are so many Disney Movies to keep everyone entertained! LOL

It's official, I just booked a magical 4 night stay at the BC from 9/4-9/8/15!

This will be our first stay at BC! Last year we stayed at YC for the first time and had an amazing trip. I am so excited, September couldn't come soon enough!! :yay:
