Another TOMBALL resident here (NW Houston).

WOW! I think us 2 Tomball DVC'ers gives Tomball the hightest concentration of DVC'ers per capita!

We drive, stopping in Pensacola over-night. This puts us in at about 3pm... On the return, we drive all the way home. The timezone change saves us an hour, and we get to sleep in our own bed.

I haven't thought of flying out of Houston--I guess it's just as close as DFW. Is it substantially cheaper than Austin???

After posting, I checked on fares from Houston for our upcoming trip. They were $77 less, and the flights were non-stop. Before booking them, I checked Austin one last time, and the fare was $5 less than the Houston fare. That is honestly the first time that's ever happened to me! Most of the time it's $50 or so cheaper (which adds up when there are 5 of your flying!), plus it's a good excuse to visit with my brother. Guess this time he's missing out on a visit from us!

timC - we, too, use Pensacola for our pit stop! It works well. We have never driven all the way thru on the way home, but we usually do a half-day at the parks before we head to Pensacola for the night on the way back to Texas.

We, too, stop in Pensacola on the drive down. And lunch at the Cracker Barrell in Lafayette is the norm.

I guess not all DVC'ers are in Jersey after all

Teach in Fort Worth... live southwest of there.

Several of us (DIS) had a meet at Grapevine Mills at the Rainforest Cafe at the end of May. There were a couple of other DVC there.

We live in Rowlett which is a suburb of Dallas. We live a mile from Lake Ray Hubbard if anyone know where that is. We drove all they way to Ocala, Fl. on the way to WDW (left at 0230) and on the way home stopped in Pensacola but we will never drive that far in one day again.

I list TX as my residence but the military has me located elsewhere right now. Though I am close enough to drive to WDW in less time. . . If all goes well I will be moving back upon completion of service to just north of San Antonio.

timc-we did the same thing you do! Drive to Pensacola and stop for the night and on the return trip, drive straight through! Worked great for us EXCEPT, on this last trip, no hotel rooms in Pensacola at all! Ended up driving to Chipley, Florida before there were any vacancies!! Next time, I'll know to make a reservation for the overnight stay!!

Maybe we could do a Tomball DVC meet!! Would be mighty small though...

We usually leave WDW around 2PM on our last day. We drive to Daphne AL which is just east of Mobile Bay. They have a Comfort Suites, Hampton Inn and Microtel there. We have stayed at all of them and they all are very good.

We're actually in the Military in the Pensacola area right now, about to move to Germany in 3 months, but plan on getting back home to good old COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, after we separate from the military! Can't wait to get back to God's country!!!
