B&C, Sci Fi or Epcot QS?

Hi,
We will be staying at BWI. I have dinner ADRs (different days) for Beaches and cream and Sci Fi. We have not done b&c and only Ds18 has done Sci fi and he is not excited about going back... (I was so excited to get that ADR! I thought they'd be thrilled, but the reviews are bad.. did your kids/ teens think SCI fi was fun?)

Is either / both of these worth keeping or should we just walk to Epcot and do qs/ cs there? Maybe Sunshine Seasons. Or a different TS ADR? Are the burgers at either place better than Cs burgers?

We are also eating dinners at Biergarten, Chefs de France, Via Napoli, HDDR.

We were just there and we went to beaches and cream just because it's somewhere we had never been before and anticipated to sharing some ice cream . We walked over there for lunch on our Hollywood studios day .. we all ended up hungry and much to my surprise the seafood sandwich that I ordered was the best thing that I ate the entire week ! It's very small in the place but I would absolutely go back there each trip .

My kids loved Sci-Fi. DH thought his food was fine, my burger was dry, and we all got a kick out of the movie clips. I wouldn't go back but the rest of them want to, so I have an ADR. I've tried every day to move it up, but 2:15 is the earliest I can get for lunch! Hopefully I'll catch a last minute opening when we're there because a late lunch interferes with my desire to have my hot feet in a cool pool at 2pm

One of my problems with SciFi is that the tables/cars aren't set up to allow the family to talk and spend time together as you would at any other location. You sit generally 2 by 2 in rows behind one another staring at a screen that plays old clips, not actual short films or anything, but I would consider lengthy old previews of films. The food is generally OK enough.

I enjoyed my meal at Beaches and Cream. it had been years since we had been there and we did the reservation, which is needed (especially with a group of 7 like I was in). It is pretty well classic diner fashion, with a free to play juke box. The burgers were fine and better than the over pressed ones at other quick service places. The reuben is also a good choice as is the chicken. Don't forget the kitchen sink, both mini and normal! If you just want an ice cream I would head over to Ample Hills creamery at the boardwalk!

This is also why I won't book SciFi again. We didn't know the seat configuration last time we were there and DH ended up sitting behind DD(4 at the time) and me, same car but not easy to talk to. I don't remember the food being that great either.

We actually like the cars. Our 3 kids sat in front of DH and me and we had quiet meal. You want to think about seating arrangements, for your group, when using the cars. They do have picnic tables and you can request one when you check in.

Personally, I wouldn't keep either one. The atmosphere at Sci-Fi is a lot of fun, but the food is really bad. Beaches and Cream is cute, but cramped and the food is overly salty. Plus, if you want REALLY good ice cream, it's right there at BWI at Ample Hills.

If you just want a good burger in the area and like sports, ESPN Club's burgers are actually pretty good. If it isn't a big game day, you should be able to walk right up and get a table. You could also do a walk-up at The Fountain at the Dolphin for similar, but better food than Beaches and Cream. On the Boardwalk, we also really like Trattoria al Forno.

If you want to do QS in EP, Sunshine Seasons is good. We also really enjoy Les Halles in France and Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. If you want to try another EP TS, Spice Road Table is good!

50's Prime Time had always been a favorite of our, so we never tried another HS restaurant for lunch for years. But our last trip, we decided to give Sci Fi a try.

The seating was strange. Obviously I knew we would be in cars, but I didnt realize there would be no interaction with my husband and daughter who sat in the car in the front seat, while I was alone in the back! Movie was cartoons, and clips of other sci fi movies. A cool experience. Lunch was nice too. The cheesecake dessert is what will get me back there! Of the choices you mentioned, I would choose Sci-Fi.

I wouldn't go back to Beaches and Cream with a 10 meter cattle prod. But I would ask your son why he didn't like Sci Fi. You said only he has done it so I would ask why. My son loved it because he could sit in a car row on his own (he was the hitchhiker in the back) and just chill. A PP said the burgers were dry but ours have always been extremely good and you can pick your toppings from the list so you don't get something you don't want.

And personally, I don't pay attention to any restaurant review at all. The only way to determine if you like it is to experience it yourself.

We haven't done Sci Fi but loved B&C. DH and I thought our burgers were excellent and it's a fun (albeit tiny) atmosphere. Also reasonably priced. We stayed at the YC and are planning on returning in 2018, and this will be a must do lunch for us on our HS day.

Love Sci Fi, usually just my grown daughter and I so we wind up being the hitch hikers in the back. The turkey sandwich pictured above is good, as are the buffalo popcorn chicken, the spinach artichoke dip and the fried pickles and onion rings. My daughter usually gets the kids burger (the servers have never refused her) and it's plenty for her. Plan on eating lunch there next Wednesday!

I've been to Sci Fi pretty much once a year. It's one my DD loves, and we made it kind of a tradition. We've never had anything bad there, matter of fact, sometimes my DH raves about how delicious his meal was. The portions are huge for sandwiches to me, but it's always good food! I like that it's dark, so on a hot day it feels very cooling (I always need a little sweater in there).

B&C I've only had carry out once when we were staying at the BWI. DH ran over to pick it up after I called in an order. Burgers were not good - Wendy's has better. This was 10 years ago, but I've never had any desire to go back.

For the price, I'd keep Sci Fi over a counter service place in DHS. Sci Fi is inexpensive compared to many TS places.

My family loves Sci Fi. We always pay out of pocket and don't use credits there. We love the atmosphere and to be honest I love the seating. I get to talk to my wife and the kids sit in their own seat. Everybody is quiet and I like the cool dark as a break. It's on the list of have to restaurants for us. Crystal Palace for breakfast being the other.

What about 50s Prime Time Cafe? It was our fallback DHS ADR in early December when we couldn't get Sci Fi, and we ended up liking the fun vibe and the food better.

Actually, I think his attitude is just that at WDW, there are so many options that he wouldn't choose that one over the others- not that it was horrible.
He likes the Epcot restaurants and I think he is remembering years ago when they felt more immersive and the menus were more distinct. But we haven't been wowed by any WDW restaurant in the past few years though so I was trying to find some new ones.

I have replaced B&C with a plan to stay in AK and eat at Y&Y, which we did like before. I will keep Sci Fi for now, but look at other options.

I think Prime time looks fun and I have a hard time deciding what I would choose to eat because it sounds good. My sons do not require (will not eat) kids' food at WDW like Mac N Cheese and chicken nuggets BUT they don't like 'saucy' items like pot pie (yum!) or meat loaf. And I know they wouldn't eat green beans.... I don't think it would be fun to have them picked on by someone else if Mom is not nagging them. They would eat a whole plate of fruit or raw carrots, raw spinach, raw cucumbers, but cooked vegetables is not going to happen... so I have always avoided the place...???
They are more the type for grilled chicken or grilled steak with pasta, bread and salad or fresh fruit. No sauce please.

maybe I should add Morocco? They would like the kabobs.

We absolutely LOVE Sci-Fi! I have gone there every Disney trip since I was eight and I now have an eight year old that loves it as much as I do! The food is always good and you just can't beat the ambience. Every time we walk in, it's like stepping into a different era and I love it!!!

I think the OP said her son is 18. Not sure he will be any more engaged or entertained by this. Personally, we like the campy atmosphere, think they have great burgers & possibly the best hot fudge sundae on property. But I can see an 18 year old not loving the place. I think you're making a good decision in keeping the adr for now OP. If something comes up that suits your family's needs better, you can always cancel later. It is pretty hard to get Sci Fi last minute so better to keep it for now.
