Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS RESORT Information & Questions

One other thing, does anyone know where they are now doing the movies at night? We had a room in the football section and several came down Friday night to watch the movie on the football field, but there never was a movie. I didn't go to the front desk to find out b/c we were honestly just too tired to try and find out where we should go, but just wanted to see if anyone else knew.
They are on the Football Field on the end closest to Stadium Hall.

However, the All-Stars no longer have nightly movies each night at each All-Star-they "alternate" nights hosting the movies.

So I did something extreme today.I cancelled all of my ADR's and going to eat counter service. It is looking they now have a great selection at the food court: Thanks MAC!! And cheaper on the pocket book.

I had the roasted turkey dinner the first night
The steak dinner and had it medium rare had the pot roast dinner another night and it was flavored perfectly

You can get two sides with the dinner section
Mashed potatoes and this was no mix, Mac and cheese, corn, green beans, and can not remember the last veggie choice

Warm rolls are included in all the meals above

They have a few other plates choices
The nights I was there they had salmon dinner, meatless entree for vegetarians and anothe choice
Steak was not available on one of my nights
First night I wanted pot roast but they sold out of that by 9 so went with roasted turkey dinner

Burgers had it one afternoon and well worth the money
It comes with an order of one side
Fries, veggie and dip or side salad

Desserts I passed on as I could not eat another bite
When I wait and have my big meal at 9-10 at night I get too full after having a lot of food

Besides the hamburgers they had hot dogs with chili and cheese
Seemed like many in the grill side ordered them

On the far side they have the pasta foods and the pizzas
Took a pass on that
Went with full meals this trip mostly at sports

Luster girl this was one of my cheapest I have eaten in years at the motherland
Did buy the refillable mug and used it for morning coffee and soda once back at sports in the evening

Did do two adr in the park but feel this is the last year for biergarten
Last year it was $24 but this month it was $30

Did not eat as much there at lunch as the heat zapped me in the afternoon

Hope your vacation is swell
Happy eating!

thanks for the review! we usually eat at the resort the day we check in and had planned to walk over to Music to use their pool and eat dinner there; will be coming back to eat dinner at Sports for sure now.

Has anyone walked down to the other All Stars for a meal? I was looking at menus on Disney's site and they show Movies as having the Croissant Donut at Breakfast! And Fish & Chips at dinner, plus some yummy milkshakes w/alcohol. :) I think I will be walking down there in January to check it out.

When I have, I plan to take a bus from the park/DS that I'm at in the afternoon to the Allstar I'm going to eat at then walk back to my own. With breakfast I'd just walk to eat then catch the bus to the parks.

When did they change this? We were hoping for a football field view again. Oh well, it all Disney!
Yes,Touchdown! is now Preferred.

I would request Home Run Hotel/Building # 9/room as close to Touchdown!/Building # 10 as possible.

From Home Run Hotel/Building # 9 it is a short walk along the "back" of Touchdown!/Building # 10 to the Bus Stops.:)

I love this! We did the dining plan with a table service a couple of times, when we switched to the quick service plan it was so freeing! We loved not having to make a reservation, not to mention the park time that we spent getting to and eating meals. We always enjoy our counter service meals and only eat the same thing twice if we want too. Last year, over 10 days, I didn't have a single burger, nugget or pizza the whole time. Enjoy the freedom of eating where you want, when you want!

looking forward to the freedom of the QSDP; eat what we want when we want; not what I decided on 180 days before. The kids were very vocal after our last trip(DDP) that they did not want to waste time at restaurants when they could be on rides.

did make 2 TS ADRs but that is it.

Disney's quick service counter meals are very big portions. The more that I thought about it, it made sense. Too much time is wasted going back and forth to parks and then the restaurants. Plus EPCOT has the Food and Wine Festival going on so I plan on munching there.

This was the 3rd trip in the last 3 years that I did not buy any dining packages

I thoroughly enjoyed eating where and when I wanted to

I am not a soda drinker so the beverage on the dining plan was a waste for me
Not fond of the typical desserts with the quick service

I figured out the difference cost of the plan against what I really wanted to eat

Even with 2 sit down adrs, I saved over more than $50 on the last trip

If I had a huge sit down lunch, my dinners were light
Salad and fruit was fine for me

Did the treats Mickey bars/snacks some days and that was included in my budget

Doubt I will ever go back to any dining program

Some peeps like having food prepaid and I do too

I would buy Disney gift cards each week at the grocery store and used them for all my food

Ended up returning home with $100 unused gc in October
