With all respect, I understand why dvc removed the DVD player. A dvdplayer is old and the New Technology is streaming. Dvc provide good wifi coverage through out their resorts or at least they did at the resorts I visited.
Why not just embrace the new technology instead of hanging on to the old obsolete technology?
It's been years since I threw out my old dvds and I can't recall when I had a dvdplayer.

We're in the minority, but absolutely love the recent renovations. They actually pushed us to buy in - we'd avoided doing a cash res or renting points because we thought the villas decor was too loud and dated. I like that the rooms have a more subtle theme now.
But truly, more importantly than individual preference, do you find the room *theemed* properly? We love them too. I disliked everything about the previous decors, before this design.

The theming is truly the only thing Disney has over off site resorts.
Transporting you to a different dimension is what Disney does.
Take that away and,,,,....????

I beg to disagree. That is not the "only thing Disney has over offsite resorts". Onsite resorts, whether themed perfectly or not, have LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION and transportation. I want to be THERE. Boardwalk or Monorail Resort. You could give me a free room offsite and I would rather pay to be onsite. Nuff said. But truly, more importantly than individual preference, do you find the room *theemed* properly?

Actually yes I do, other than a few pieces of art work in the old decor, I found nothing about it said Beach to me. The garish bright colors are not what I think of when I think beach. I think of subtle sand tones and light blues, coral and waves. All that is found in the new decor and was very much lacking in the old decor.
To me, this is first time that the rooms really look Beach to me.
Other than two pieces of cheap art on the walls, there is absolutely nothing in this photo that says Beach to me.
I can't be the one one who finds this room kinda awful right? Mismatched everything. I love the clean look of the new rooms. And the beachy theme is there just subtle. I would rather stay in a hampton inn than the old rooms. That's just my personal taste though.
I'm truly happy you like the theming. I haven't stayed since the new refurb so I'm only going off what I read. If the refurb is highly themed than I'm glad to hear it.I beg to disagree. Which leads to my point earlier that Disney no longer wishes to do quality theming since it's likely too costly. Thus, they put in Hampton Inn suites with small thematic touches which serves no one well.I can't be the one one who finds this room kinda awful right? Mismatched everything.
