Souvies, Halloween, MHP, and Other Updates

Just some other random thoughts/notes about the party (there will be a full trip report with photos after I get home):
  • The second parade didn't seem that busy. There still second row spots available in Town Square after the parade stepped off. Further up Main Street looked busier, but not super crowded.
  • The Horseman stepped onto the route at 10:30 pm and the parade started about 10 minutes later. The schedule had things listed for 10 minutes earlier (10:20 for the Horseman and 10:30 for the parade). The Horseman canters very slowly down the route, so he's very easy to see (which is nice).
  • The Horseman holds his pumpkin in his right hand, so you'll want to be on that side of the route for the best view (so on the Emporium side when the parade is coming from IsSW and the Starbucks side when the parade is coming from Town Square

Does the Headless Horseman travel the whole parade route? If I were to watch the parade near It's a Small World, would I get to see the Horseman?

I didn't watch from IaSW, but the everything I've read and heard indicates he rides the entire parade route.

Very helpful information :thumbsup2
The view from the BB preferred viewing area is very good and it's very easy to get up to the hub for fireworks afterwards. While the instructions says to get there at 8:00 pm, I would highly recommend getting there before then. The line stared forming around 7:45-7:50 pm, and they opened the viewing areas a little after 8:00 pm on a first come, first serve basis. The ECV ahead of us was directed to a spot in front of the cinema (they were first in line), while the rest of us were directed to fill in the area in front of the Emporium. The viewing area ended up about 2 to 3 deep.
My usually reliably CM source told be BB viewing would be at Town Square, but I'm very happy he was wrong :goodvibes
We ended up getting lots of candy...mostly all "good" stuff (no peanut chews this year!).
That's great news!

Random questions if you have a moment:

I know they give a "treat bag" for the treat trails... How big is it? I thought I heard it was like a quart-size-ziplock size. Is this correct? Am I allowed to bring my own treat bag? (This sounds funny, but I have a treat bag my grandma made me when I was a baby, for my first Halloween; so totally want to take it to t-o-t with!)

I'm assuming the parade goes the normal parade route (ie, will pass through the iasw mall)?

I don't have it with me, but it looks like it was the same size as last year. A quart-size baggie sounds about right, but about 2 inches thick. It doesn't hold much candy; about three treat trails will fill it up. I saw lots of people with their own bags.

According to the map, the parade follows the same route as PtN and Sounsatuonsl. So it will go through IaSW Mall.

The MHP pins are available now at the Emporium. A CM told that they are also at 20th Century Music. We found the AP party pin (Lilo and Stitch) at Westward Ho only. Disneyana has the official MHP pin (Mickey and Minnie) and the t-shirt.

Thanks for this info!
Didn't realize Jedi Training happened during the party - I wonder how long the line is for sign up...maybe we'll try this!

Just a note about the AP shirt...it's currently only at Disneyana, as mentioned, but that shop does not remain open during the party. They close one hour after the official start of the party (so at 8:00 pm for a 7:00 pm party). The shirt is available all day long, but don't wait until the end of the party to try to get one.

The MHP pins (non-AP) are all over Disneyland now (available all day long). We saw them in all of the pins shops, plus Westward Ho and the Emporium. The rest of the MHP merchandise is also readily available all day long.

We had so much fun at the party. We did the Blue Bayou dinner package, and vlogged it. Also periscoped the parade. Loved the Headless Horseman and the parade, and of course, the fireworks.

Here now and found all 13 Hidden Mickeys on the Grand Californian confectionary display. I will upload pics later since they are too big right now.

Can't wait to see them!

Did you happen to see if Cinderella's step sisters are meeting again at this years party?
I didn't spend muc time with the villains this year (no mini-villains show when the characters were changing out). I know that Kenny the Pirate was at the party, so he probably will have an update with which characters were where if no one here on the Dis answers.

On the souvie front, Award Weiner still has the Crush Sipper Cups and Bengal BBQ also has the Jungle Book tumbler.

It's didn't look as busy as I expected on Main Street. I think it would depend on the size if your group. However there were still pretty good curb spots left in Town Square for the second parade with less than 20 minutes to go.

Another update: the AP Treat Trail is neat the exit to Big Thunder this year. They're giving out a bag and some candy. That's also where the Fantasyland dragon has moved now that his chalet/cave is gone.

Can anyone please fill me in about this dragon? I've never seen it before and it sounds cute. Is it only there at Halloweentime? Thanks.

The color scheme is different , as the cape is more of a blood red maroon but basically the same.

I was here tonight (on Sunday going to party tomorrow) and soooo wanted the poison apple mug. First thing I did when I got into the park was go running to find one. They told me they had a bunch in the morning but are sold out through the entire parks. Ever since I saw one I've wanted one but they always sell out. I came early this thinking it'd be a sure thing.
