Happy 29th - it is indeed a special birthday as that is when time stands still and you remain that age forever. We never stay CL on our WDW trips because we love the TS/Signature dining. One's favorite is Shula's Steakhouse, another's is Artist Point, mine is Narcossee's, another's is California Grill......by the time we get done making all of our ADSRs, there's very little benefit, to us, to stay CL.

Enjoy the special vacation!

Tom

aahhhh.... yes, 29, if only :)

Was just watching a youtube video and saw a video of inside Big Pine Key and Boca Chica. Am I seeing correctly, that each building is rectangular and opposite sides are across a large space that looks down to the main floor? Sort of like the actual Main building lobby area? If so, that is awesome! I love that. It looks so much classier than when I stayed in the POLY, with rooms directly across from each other like in any motel type building. I was so surprised to see the inside of the outside buildings with this feature! Please tell me it's true!!!

And I know I made a separate thread about this but really could use help! If you stay at GF, which is your preferred view? Does anyone actually like a pool view? Do you much prefer a lagoon view? Torn on what to choose. I think I ruled out MK view, too worried about being disappointed for the cost.

Good Morning :wave2:,

Opinions and help needed....

Soooo... looking for opinions on the different views. One worth it more than the other? What type of view may I get with a lagoon view? Deluxe garden view rooms - in a particular location or scattered? Should I not even bother with upgrading room view and splurge on something else? Decisions, Decisions...

Help...

In our opinion, after trying all of these options, our family feels that LV is really not worth it. It costs more than a GV and we had a view of the Poly that was just ok. I'd rather spend extra for the TPV - from Sago and Conch it's really lovely.

Yes, it's true! It's so nice in the outer buildings. DD would often wait for us, looking down over the railing when she was younger.

Pool view is garden view and it's really nice. We usually book GV at the GF, though we have splurged for TPV a few times. Lagoon view (LV) is overpriced for what you get, unless you get lucky and have a glimpse of the castle from your room.

A pool view can be fun as long as you're not given one of the dreaded pool house rooms! We had a Lagoon View room in Boca Chica during our first stay. The room was quiet with the lapping water and boat horns a relaxing feature. We could've seen the Magic Kingdom if not for the large tree in the way!

Are top floor rooms with vaulted ceilings really some m² smaller then "regular" rooms?

And does anyone know if there are King rooms (upon request) in all buildings within the TPV category?

I want to boom a TPV room and request a King room and a certain building. But when there are no King rooms in this building the request is not the best ;-)

Good Morning :wave2:,

I'm in the very beginning stages of planning our next family trip/milestone birthday for me trip :upsidedow. Definitely next August and 99% sure on GF (we've loved our last few stays). That said, I've always taken the agency exclusive deal and have always gotten some great "garden view" rooms. However, given that it is a BIG birthday for me next year, I'm leaning towards a little splurge but need some help from the GF experts.

Providing I can get a decent R/O BB deal when we're there next month, I'm torn between:

Outer bldg. Lagoon view
Outer bldg., Deluxe garden view
Outer bldg. TPV

When I look at the price for a TPV, I then start to think for a few bucks more, I could do sugar loaf BUT not sure CL will be worth it on this particular trip. While my two DD's LOVE staying CL, we have found they also love nice dinners and get bored with the lounge offerings quickly and if we're not going to be able to take advantage of evening offerings then not sure I see the value. Plus with all the changes lately, I've been struggling to see the real value in our recent CL stays.

To make matters worse, I'm getting ZERO help from my girls and DH this time around as they want me to choose what I really want since it's my birthday. Well, that's all fine and dandy, however, I'm not used to truly just picking what I want and I have been known to be just a "tad" indecisive :rolleyes1.

Help...
We had a lagoon view in BPK one trip, it faced Poly. I enjoyed watching the EWP from our balcony. But I think my fav View was our GV room this past trip, in BPK. We overlooked the Courtyard pool and could see Wishes over the roof of Boca Chica. I posted a pic from our balcony.
We did have a deluxe GV room in RPC another trip and it was really nice. We had 2 queens plus sofa bed. Room was huge. If it was between a TPV or deluxe room, I'd go for deluxe room. ESP if it's 4 people sharing room.

Where is the pic from your balcony? Would love to see it. What floor were you on btw?

Yes, Dormers are 3 ft smaller. Also the balcony is a lot smaller and has a solid wall, so when you are sitting you can't see out.

We were on 4th floor

We were in BPK earlier this month (3rd floor) and had a nice view of fireworks from our room too (I also posted pictures earlier in this thread). I think a fireworks view even if over another building is really nice for a garden view room and from our room we could see part the EWP a little as a side view, not to shabby really...

We were thrilled!!

Also, do you recall your room number? If you prefer not to post it, can you send me a private message? I am looking to get a room to the left of that, to clear the pool house view.
