Trader Sam's Question

I don't really know if matters whether you have to have the drink or not.

From what I understand at TS in Florida, they will only sell you the mug if you buy the drink. On the way out they give you a boxed and brand new mug when you show your receipt.

When we got our mugs in Anaheim, I believe we took our dirty mugs back to the room and washed them. But that was probably five years ago so I'm not totally sure.

For the people doing pre-orders on Ebay, how do they know that they're going to get enough to sell to people? It says that they've sold 17 in the past 24 hours. I hope they limit how many each person can get so they can't buy them all up. That isn't right.

Maybe they have invited their 20 closest friends and will be buying the drinks. I'll look for any large parties like that. My other guess is that they have an "in" with someone in merchandising who is less than honest.

You're right, it's not right

Yeah if you go, keep an eye out to see if you can tell how they do it. I guess there's nothing Disney can do if they have a separate person purchasing each mug.

That makes me sad. Same thing with the Halloween Party tickets. Why do people have to do this kind of stuff? It makes it harder for everyone else who actually wants the item/go to the event themselves.

I can't speak for the Trader Sam's items (or anything at the TS locations), but I remember the day the new 60th Anniversary balloon popcorn buckets went on sale. One person bought over a dozen of them and seemed proud that they were single largest purchase so far that day. They were clearly an re-seller (they said so and didn't seem at all ashamed of being one). Hopefully folks don't see anyone like that at Trader Sam's tomorrow!

If folks do go tomorrow (or at any point in the near future), please let us know what kind of drink comes in the mug and how much it is!

Does anyone know if they are selling them yet? We are going out tomorrow as that is the official start day of Halloweentime. I figure 2:30 or 3PM before the work crowd shows up. I wonder if there is a limit because I already have an order from a friend in New York who PM'd me the link.

I have a feeling someone else who is already on the thread may want one too. :rolleyes1. I have no problem drinking as many drinks as it takes to get them! :lmao:

:lmao: Guilty! We need these, don't you think?

Very cool!

Maybe they will have a "special" Christmas one too when we are there in December. :drinking1:thumbsup2

On the first day of Season of the Force there was a 90 minute line for TIE fighter popcorn buckets and people were buying the limit and not taking even 1 serving of popcorn. There was a couple of probably had a dozen and they got in the line again. I'm sure they were eBayers. If the sellers can't fulfill the pre-orders they probably just cancel the sale. In this case the mugs were announced so close to the actual date that they might not have sold all their listings.

The Disney food blog put out an update today and it says that the Tiki Mugs are limited to two per guest.

I belong to a facebook group and as of an hour ago the line to get one was an hour long , and they ONLY MADE 2500. So if not there today I wouldn't expect to get one :(

I waited 1 hour and 20 min. Got in line at 11:30 am and walked away with my two at 12:50. There is a two per person limit. Cost 32.50 each and no discounts apply. One CM said there were 2500 available another said they feel they have enough to sell through Oct 31. So it is anyone's guess as to how many will be available.

Did you go today? When I saw that picture of the line going out the door, I was glad I wasn't there. I do hope they'll still have them next month, but if not, it wasn't meant to be for me.

$32.50 is pretty pricey...I think that will deter some people. I wonder if that means they're made of ceramic/glass opposed to plastic? Maybe 2500 is the limit that they'll sell in one day? That would be interesting...something different at any rate. Any info on what the Chilling Chase drink is made of?

We're about to get in line. Had some things to do today before we could go out. I'll post updates when I know more.
