***Official November 2016 Thread***

Also- what is EMM? I am sure it will be an obvious one, but I need help. LOL! THX!
EMM is Extra Magic Mornings. It's where on certain morning they charge you more money to come in an hour earlier then park opening to ride mine train and Winnie the Pooh.

Edit: oops, should have refreshed before posting. I see your questions already answered.

I'm only two weeks away from my fast pass window and really want to plan my days but that is really hard without knowing what hours, if any are going to be extended.

Also really want to go to a Star Wars Fireworks dessert party, I think I'm becoming slightly obsessed with booking this.

Every time there's a thread even hinting at the party or the hours (as well as checking Disney website every day) I'm on it, then post a moan about the lack of updates, like now:rotfl2:

So I did a little more fishing around and noticed there is some talk of HDDR going under floor and furniture refurb this fall?? Who knows... thinking I better make some dinner res for 6PM that night in case my 4PM/8PM ressies hit the road if refurb is announced. This HDDR thing is annoying me! LOL!!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I'm wondering if maybe you didn't hear....MSEP is leaving as of 10/1, so it won't be around for our trips :( Hence it now showing as "none".

Oh yes, I'm aware! And it was like salt in the wound that it was still listed on the operating schedule! As a matter of fact, I wish they'd just delete it instead of saying "none". This is one of my favorite things ever about Disney since I grew up with this parade at DLR so while I'm happy it's going home, I'm sad I'll be missing out in November. Not to mention I planned an early dinner one night just to see it. (Hence why I get annoyed Disney wants us to plan so far in advance, but can't seem to give us the courtesy of the necessary information to do so...)

I know I recently read that Sept. and Oct. hours for AK have been updated and I think it's 9 one month and 7:30 or 8 the other? Maybe 7 in Oct? I know whomever was giving the info. - and it may have been Josh at Easy - was saying it'll still give guests a little bit of time there once the sun goes down but not really enough to do all the nighttime stuff in the dark. So trying to get on EE and the safari after its dark and catch some Tree of Life awakenings will be tough. The only thought is that IF ROL does end up opening maybe the hours will get extended. So while I believe we in Nov. will have some hours at AK after the sun goes down, unless ROL begins I think it'll only extend to 7 or 8 based on Sept. and Oct.

I know that doesn't really help you lol.

My friend wants to ride Everest in the dark so we'd have time for what she wants, but I'm not sure it's worth hopping over there, and missing other nighttime entertainment, just for that.

With DHS only having hours till 7 I wondered about the Star Wars fireworks as well. I cannot say enough that it's frustrating to have to plan so far in advance and not know the hours and events/entertainment! We also make FP reservations in two weeks so I'm about at my wits end with this! The planner in me is going CRAZY!

I feel like it is really weird to have a park like DHS close at 7pm...sure they are going through a major refurb, but they still have plenty to offer, plus it's a really cool park to walk through during night time. Being Thanksgiving week, I would think they would at least have it open until 9pm each night...but I guess things that make sense in my mind, don't always in others.

We just came to the realization that we are almost 3 months away from heading down. Crazy! I feel like I've been planning this trip for forever, and everyone that is coming with has been annoyed with all of my planning, but NOW they all want to put their input in and ask questions. People...where have you been for the last 6 months??!! I love my family, I love my family, I love my family

Hi guys!! We will be in Disney 11/26-12/1. We're traveling with 4 kids, ages 2, 4, 13 and 15, and we're getting married while we're there! Our trip schedule as of now looks like this:

11/26- Check in @ Cabins at Fort Wilderness
6:40PM Dinner @ Chef Mickey's
8:45PM Pirates 'n Pals Cruise

11/27- Sleep in, explore Fort Wilderness, either go swimming or Disney Springs, depending on the weather.
4PM MK for MVMCP
5:50PM Dinner @ Crystal Palace

11/28- 11AM Wedding @ Luau Beach, Polynesian Resort
Afternoon- MK
8:35PM Dinner @ CRT

11/29- Spend the day at AK
4:30 Mickey's Backyard BBQ, Category 1 (which is why it is a little earlier)
If we have any energy left, maybe Epcot for evening EMH.

11/30- Back to MK for the morning (hoping for BOG breakfast, but haven't found an ADR yet)
HS for the afternoon
5:35PM Dinner @ Minnie's Holiday Dine

12/1 Pack up and check out. Debating whether to book a breakfast or not.

What do you think? I'm pretty sure the kids are going to sleep the whole way back home to Pennsylvania!

What time is your reservation? So far, it says the hours of the park close at 6pm on our day, but we have a 5:55pm ADR there. I thought that was a little odd, that they'd let us eat so late, so I wondered if they're still planning on extending the hours.
Our reservation was at 5:55 before I cancelled and changed our plans

I know it's very frustrating not to know how to plan! I'm having to rethink our AK night since JB won't be going and nothing has been announced for ROL, unless it happens to be announced before our FP day on 9/20. DH and I leave a week from tomorrow for a quick adults only trip and we plan to do EE and the safari at night, plus catch the Tree of Life awakenings so at least I'll know if we definitely want to do those with the kids.

As for HS hours Thanksgiving week: I am 99% positive they'll be extended later than 7pm. Not that this helps anyone now, but we were there last Thanksgiving week and they never closed earlier than 8pm, which I still thought was early but better than 7. Then there were a couple 10pm nights and one night, either the night before or after Thanksgiving, was 11. The Osborne lights were on which on the one hand can make you think that's why they extended hours. However if they continue the SW fireworks (and my GUESS is yes??) I think that's enough reason to extend. In fact I think there will be lots of changes to hours that week before it gets here. Last year they made changes a few weeks before.

For those of you going during Thanksgiving week here's a screen shot I took of last years hours. I don't know if it helps with your planning at all. But, at least it shows that they'll probably extend this years hours.

Thanks! These weren't the final hours though fyi, they changed after this was published on the TA website last year. For instance on Monday it was HS that had Morning EMH from 7-8am, not MK. Also some of those 8:30 pm HS closings got pushed later :) However it definitely shows that the hours were later than those currently posted!

We were going to go to WDW in late January, but my folks really would like to go while the Parks are decorated for Christmas. I have been researching early November so to not be there during the US Thanksgiving week.

Are the crowds manageable early November? And the weather? Shorts and tees, with a splatter of rain?

Early November includes Jersey week, which I've heard affects crowd levels. Also Veteran's Day is November 11th, so that may increase crowds a bit too. The week before Thanksgiving is supposed to be good! We went November 12-18 last year and crowds were moderately heavy (and unexpectedly so, based on the crowd calendars!). We're going again this November 9-16 and expecting the same level of crowds. I would check out a good crowd calendar for your exact dates to give you a better idea!

Weather-wise, it could be downright cold or blazing hot! We had very warm weather last November - hoping for something cooler this year! I think the average high temp in November is in the high 70's, low 80's. I think November is a pretty dry month - we had absolutely no rain last year!

For those that will be there on Thanksgiving, and of course it may change, but Tusker House shows being open till 9:30pm that night. I currently have an 8:45pm ADR for Tusker House on Thanksgiving night. So thats at least one night that is a late night at AK.

Edit: Took out Tiffins because I cant click on the correct date.

Sunday, Nov. 27th: Animal Kingdom morning; Epcot evening for Illuminations.
Reservations: Tusker house breakfast 10:10; Biergarten dinner 7:10 (only keeping one - probably Biergarten. Thoughts?)

I prefer Tusker House over Biergarten, and since your Tusker House ADR is close to lunch, you should get a mix of breakfast and lunch foods- YUM! Biergarten was just ok for us; better for the adults than the kids. TH is definitely more kid friendly, but still has enough to appeal to adults.

Tuesday, Nov 29th: Magic Kingdom during the day. Drinking around the world with my husband that night!
Reservations: Crystal Palace 8:20am (Question - is this early enough to be useful?)

I don't think it's early enough to be useful. Yes, you'll get in the park to get good castle pictures, but you'll probably still be eating at rope drop, so you'll lose that prime no/low lines time. So, it depends on your priorities!

Saturday, Dec. 3: Hollywood Studios
Reservation: Beaches and Cream 7:10pm (a bit later than I'd like; might just go have dessert)

We like to do Beaches & Cream for an afternoon snack on our HS day; it's nice to take the boat over and relax a bit before heading back to finish our day! Just a thought, in case you want to try for an earlier time.

Thanks very much! I wasn't sure if that Tusker House was late enough for Brunch (I hear the curry is great but my kids would much prefer the breakfast!) I might just try and keep them both - we'll see. My mom is going to Oktoberfest before our trip so I think she'd like to "relive" it. I'll give it some thought!

That Crystal Palace res is killing me. I'm trying to get something earlier using the Touring Plans reservation finder - I had luck getting an earlier arrival dinner at Chef Mickey's, so a girl can dream!

So next week is fast pass and online check in time. I am so happy and can't wait. November will be 5 months post op knee replacement and I hope I am ready. I have one more therapy visit and the knee has improved significantly. I have been walking at least 2 miles a day in preparation. I think the only thing that is going to bother is standing in one spot too long.

I also added the regular dining plan to my reservation that way I will enjoy the fact that my food is paid for the most part. I have a sit down meal every day planned, whether it be breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

I cannot wait either but I am at 77 days away so I have a little longer to wait :guilty:.

I see a couple late CRT available for our dates, but I am wondering do we really have to order a full dinner at 11pm? Is that the only option? Or is there anyway we could we just get a dessert? Thank you!

You can do that at some places, but not CRT. It is a fixed price meal, regardless of whether you eat it all or not.

We're about 10 days from our FP pick day and I'm trying to finalize our plans for which park(s) we'll go to each day. Most days are set but I'm trying to decide which mid-week day will be our sleep late/Typhoon Lagoon (if it's not too cold) day and which will be better for rope dropping HS and then hopping to AK after my kids do Jedi Training. The dates are Tuesday, Nov 8 and Wednesday, Nov 9. On our previous trips, I've used EasyWDW crowd calendars to pick our park days and have not been steered wrong. On the preliminary calendar (since the final one hasn't been posted), both days are equal for those parks, so I looked at other crowd calendars. Kenny the Pirate lists both HS and AK as green on Tues and both parks as yellow on Wed, making it seem that Tuesday would be the better day to go to those parks. However, Touring Plans lists HS as a 7 and AK as a 6 on Tuesday vs HS as a 5 and AK as a 4 on Wednesday, which looks like Wednesday would have significantly lower crowds for those two parks. So if you've read this long post, I guess my question is: Which crowd calendar do you trust more between Touring Plans and Kenny the Pirate?

I would definitely choose Kenny in this case!
