Disney Gift Card Deals

That's great! But between the $1.99 shipping per $100 WG GC and $3.95 PP activation fee, the overhead eats up a lot of the bonuses. It would seem it's in your interest to load as much as you can onto the PP card per activation, but we think WG's POS doesn't like $500 GC transactions. So maybe $400 is a sweet spot?
Yes, I completely agree, however, I had already converted my other funds from WG to Ebay, so all I had on hand was 200 WG gc, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Boy, what a slap in the face - coming to look for ebucks promos and getting hit with this instead!

Well after discussing with DD26, we'll still keep churning albeit verrry slowly, lol. At this point, I think we'll still be able to use ebucks towards gift cards, I thought that was more like cash. I guess we'll know in another 5,6 weeks maybe. So first, with our eBay gc's, we'll probably do something with Target return and/or BB exchange, probably into Disney gc's.

For additional ebucks, again assuming being able to use them, I think we'll purchase gas gc's paid with bank card during a 5x or 4x promo. That'll get us something. I don't use lots of gas but DD26 uses more and her DF uses a good amount traveling up to an hour each way for work. I'll also have to look at Target online eBay store for things we use regularly, maybe that'll be an option.

The Paypal card thru Walgreens definitely sounds interesting and might be another good option so glad to hear Mamabelle4 was successful in that purchase! Although I didn't realize there was an activation fee so we'll see how that goes. Lain had a good suggestion there.

I appreciate the suggestions people are sharing, especially about the Target thru eBay option, as well as BB option. It could definitely help us get out of eBay gc's without losing a lot. Will be interested to hear any other helpful suggestions from other posters, as well! Thanks for sharing!

Has anyone seen Paypal GC's at Kroger-chain stores? I honestly did not even know there was such a GC. Guessing it would be excluded from 4x fuel rewards but might earn cashback from cc rewards.

I did a cursory search re: PP gift cards on the interwebs. It seems people ran into problems when they tried to use them for manufactured spending. PayPal didn't like it when they deposited the $ into their PP accounts, then transferred the money to a bank or paid off a credit card with it. PayPal sent them all letters effectively saying cut it out or we'll shut down your accounts. The inference is that the gift cards are meant for people trying to buy things online through PayPal, but don't have credit cards or bank accounts. Ergo, using them as part of the churn process might just work. Color me impressed that WG allowed the transaction. Thanks for investigating, @MamaBelle4 !

I'm not gonna lie. I was worried. They were with all the pp visas at my WG. I thought, what the hey, nothing ventured. I'm so happy it worked. I almost did a happy little jump when I left, lol.

So happy to hear of the success getting PP from WG! This may be a viable option until this dries up too, which seems inevitable. Guess I will try with my $100 WG card to see what happens.

Thanks for finding this. They don't say what happens if you use this card to pay off online purchases, which I think is the point of the card, so I want that to mean it's ok.

I read though that post and every single comment. If the card cannot be used as cash, then what exactly is it to be used for?? It seems like most who were banned or warned by PP were using it to fund their PP and then transfer the money to their bank account. Their goal was manufactured spending. I still think there is some pretty significant risk with this but not sure we'd raise the red flags quite as fast if kept this to a lower amount. Limit I read was $4k a month.

I have no money in WG's so I'd have to go OOP to jump into this. I leave for WDW really soon though so I might just sit tight for a bit and let you all be guinea pigs lol!

I must say I'm very surprised as well. I always thought if anyone of the players is making money off this (besides us) it's eBay because of the seller fees. I always thought they would be the one constant that always keeps this open. Thankfully, my trip is next month and I'm all cashed out and ready to go with the exception of $60 I have left in eBay.

Me too. I really never expected eBay to pull the rug out from under us. In fact, at one point, it seemed like they were trying to make it easier for us...lifting the GC limit that we could spend in a quarter...So, this just really did shock and surprise me. I am also really glad that my trip is soon too. I started 'cashing out' months ago and it felt too soon because there was still lots of time to churn and make more money but now I am so glad I went ahead and got my trip paid off.

When I purchased items on the Best Buy Ebay store for in store pick up, on the receipt they gave me it stated that I paid with Paypal as well. It didn't say anything about an ebay purchase....
I have $180 in Ebay gift cards I haven't converted yet as I have already reached the 2K limit. I did the math and it looks like I won't be able to purchase anything on ebay with gift cards till 9/5 :rolleyes2 At least there are still the Best Buy/Target methods as a last get-out-while-you-can outlet.
Good luck everybody.

How are you able to choose in store pick up, and can you do so for all items? I didn't see in store pick up on the item page in ebay when I was just checking it out. Also, can I ask if you did a large or small purchase? I'm thinking I'd want to do just one larger purchase, such as a laptop, but I'm wondering if that'll be okay. I'd like to do one bigger purchase on my account so it's just one exchange. You had to do an exchange right, as the return would have been back to ebay gc? Still works for me, right to Disney gc!
Then I'd probably do one at Target, and then have DD26 do one at Target as well, to get out of these ebay gc's. Have yet to find the target storefront on ebay, though.

I can't do anything yet, as I'm still shut down till after this weekend! Then we'll have $1000 available in my DD26's account, and then I'll finally have a $2000 for my account on, between Sep 13th and 19th! Ugh, all this waiting!
Definitely need the good luck, this is worse than converting those GS gc's, and more $$$, lol! Hope everyone is able to get out intact!

Has anyone received Rewards points at Best Buy from ebay gift card purchases? Obviously with the latest news I won't be buying anymore but I haven't gotten any points on the previous purchases I've made.
I recently got notified I have a $5 reward card to use by October something. I have not bought anything but gc's from BB in over a year. The first couple of times for gc's I did put in my rewards number. I stopped so as not to get tracked and it wasn't going to get me anything anyway, I thought. But, can't figure out where else I got the $5 in rewards from if not from those purchases.

Looking at their terms on their eBay storefront and their own website, it appears that if you return the items paid via PayPal in store you will get cash.
Are you talking about Target or Best buy, or both?

Yeah, I just don't see the point in a paypal card you can buy to load to your account to use for purchases, if when you do that and actually use it, they then ban you? Otherwise, what is it for? Just a way to trap people if they use the cards at all? Just makes me confused, lol.

Also, what was the point of them putting all those gc limits on to then just say no gc to gc purchase anyway? Without that, I imagine there won't be near as much use of gift cards anyway, so why strict limits. Idk.

I have to think this is going to cost them and gc sellers a huge amount of money! Maybe, someday, they'll go back on this and switch things back to some gc to gc purchases.

@Marionnette Thanks for the heads up on the Target suggestion as I'm definitely one of the ones panicking and looking for an out, I appreciate you sharing that info! Did you get actual cash or Target gc's?

Target gave me cash, which surprised me quite a bit. I would have been just as happy with a Target GC at the time since the 5% REDCard discount when paying with a GC was still active online.

I've been reading up on the PayPal cards and is the card Walgreens sells the PayPal cash card?
I'm reading tons of bad outcomes similar to reports on here of being banned from PayPal for PPDG and endless verification loops to even load the card you've paid for. I spoke to a neighbor this morning who does some other PayPal stuff and they told me to stay far away from those and that their husbands PayPal was frozen and their money locked for months using one to buy stuff off eBay. She said they also had issues buying PPDG discounted GCs prior to that happening.

I'm just going to take a moment and reminisce about the "good ol' days" when the Target loop was working and Ebates was happily doling out cash for GC purchases.

For $855 in Target GCs, I could buy $900 in ebay GCs, and with a tack on dollar purchase, I could net an extra $16 in Ebates. $45+$16 = $61

Next, if the eBay Bucks gods were smiling upon me, I'd get a 5x promo & pick up 6 $150 cards, netting $90 in ebay bucks and $9 more in Ebates. $90 + $9 = $99

So my net profit was $99 + $61, or $160. But actually it was even better since that $90 in ebay bucks would net another 2% in ebay bucks when I cashed out plus another 1% in Ebates for $2.70 more profit. (Every little bit counts!)

So that added up to $162.70 net for one good Target churn. AND, I didn't even have to leave my house to do any of it.

Ah, the good ol' days. ;)

Right it's like if you're going to make us come OOP at least make it worthwhile!

I don't know why I was expecting a 10% bonus today after the nerf eBay put on their GCs on Monday. At this point, I'm waiting for a 5x offer. But of course, eBay knows this and is willing to throw those of us desperate enough to spend only the littlest of bones, or else we can keep our money tied up in their GCs, earning them interest, and they don't have to pay out to their sellers yet.

Does anyone know if you can use PayPal to pay your Target RedCard?

Also, I'm with y'all- why would PayPal sell gift cards and then not let you use them??? That is just crazy...

Oh eBay, this is just insult upon injury! 4% -- PERCENT, not 4x -- eBay Bucks with a $50 minimum purchase now through Thursday.
Nonetheless, I appreciate you posting this. I didn't get an email about this promotion, and I did get the promo; now I have several hours to scout around for things I want/need that I might not have otherwise.
Most of the things on my watch list were under $50, so I will wait for another time for those.

Just FYI. I went to Paypal's website and there is NOTHING there about their gift cards. I did a search on gift cards, and they had instructions and rules for ebay gcs. I thought that was weird - and worrysome. I haven't made it to any of my Walgreens yet, so I haven't seen any Paypal cards. I plan to read the attached card with a fine tooth comb.

And in the slow churning world of Target, if you buy $20 of Fruit of the Loom underwear, you get a $5 gift card. yippee.
