Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

To be fair, if you were a few floors up from the Standard View room you had, you would have been in a Lake View room. (Refer to this thread for room views - http://goo.gl/1mpo7W)

Here's a couple photos of the view we had from our Lake View room, inside the C. The second one is looking straight ahead.

Nice view! Only had a view of water and total darkness when looking ahead. Kind of creepy. I must have been on the outer side of the building and wasn't impressed with the view. More than happy with the hotel though. I have a night here this December which is all I could get it seems.

Thank you for the kind words and for following-up about your stay, @LadyLion4life :)

You can't reserve a Sea Raycer, but we've rented many times from WL and CR and we've never had a problem getting a couple. It's a really nice "spur of the moment" activity.

Congratulations!

Welcome to the thread, @tinkerbellybutton!

Bumping your question.

From what I could find on the interwebz, you place your order from the Private Dining menu at the resort from which you depart. HERE is the Private Dining menu for CR. I couldn't find an answer to your question of when the order must be placed.

:thanks:BTW, I'm checking out your Wilderness Lodge & Villa thread this very moment.:thumbsup2 We will also be staying there in December. Very excited to stay there particularly during the holiday season!

It certainly does seem to be a crapshoot when it comes to room views at BLT, particularly with Standard and Lake view. Depending on the luck of the draw, you might have a view of virtually nothing like you had; one like mine; or even one of Magic Kingdom. We did have to "fight" for this view, though. We requested high floor, inside the C. (All our previous stays were at the CR in a Lake View room, and we really wanted a similar view at BLT.) We were originally given 4th floor, outside the C. So standing next to Columbia Harbour House, we called the BLT front desk (or whoever it is that we actually spoke to) and got moved to the 14th floor, inside the C. Perfect!

ahhhhh......few more days and I'll have that exact same view....cant wait to be "home"
How exciting! Hope you end up with exactly the view you're hoping for! In exactly 28 weeks, I'll be checking in to BLT myself!

I will do some research on rooms and will perhaps make a request, as I would love a higher floor myself. We only have one night though so if I don't get exactly what I want, it's no big deal since we'll be moving over to the WL for the next 5 nights.

beautiful...cant wait....5 more days!!!

@WDWKOOK ...where are you that the riverboat is so close?? do they dock them elsewhere after park close?

I was at the beach area right in front of the Garden Wing when the ferry came from the ferry barn (over past BLT near MK), through the canal, on its way to "work" at the TTC. It was so exciting seeing the empty ferry up so close like that.

I hope you'll check-in with us LIVE if you can - safe travels! Are you doing a split with AKL?

yes...AKL (1st time) from 8/2 > 8/6 then BLT (our 4th stay) 1 bedroom villa from 8/6 > 8/14. Will def check in whenever I can. From what I hear about the heat and the increased crowds, I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time at the resort LOL

funny about the ferry boat, I just assumed they parked them at the TTC at the end of the night? Unless it was off getting some maintenance. Great shot regardless!!

Every evening the monorails and boats return to the "barn," then they dispatch in the morning. It's magical seeing them without guests on them slowly chugging past BLT and CR.

Do the 2 bedroom suites at BLT have washers and dryers inside the suites?

Welcome to the DIS and the CR/BLT thread, @Love_the_Mouse!

All of the villas have washers and dryers with the exception of the Studio. Just so there's no confusion, the "suites" are located in the Garden Wing and 14th floor Tower at the Contemporary and those do not have a washer/dryer in them.

The first two pages of this thread has more information about CR and BLT and there are chapter hyperlinks in POST 1. Let us know if you have more questions:)

I have eons to go (see the sad ticker below), but we will be making our first trek to the BLT in 2018, my brother's home resort. So far, we're up to 10 adults, 5 kids and a couple of two room suites. :yay:

Checking in Aug 3rd and can't wait. My youngest has asked to stay at BLT since we seen it beeing built.

Whoa, you're going to need all that time just to plan a trip with so many people! And just think of it this way, after the ball drops in NYC to mark the end of 2016, you'll be able to say "when we go to Disney World NEXT YEAR..." (I know the pain of long waits between trips. It's the little things that get us through it.)

So far?! What a grand gathering! That's a great reunion to look forward to.

Your trip is almost here! Here's something for your youngest:
