Disney Gift Card Deals

Hey Y'all!
I also got the Walmart app egift promo, just placed an order for an egift card. worst case scenario i can buy our Disney groceries with it.

Anyone had success recently getting a Disney GC from Best Buy with a BB GC from PPDG?

The Best Buy gift card only prohibits you from buying open loop gift cards, so you can't buy the ebay gift cards which you pick the amount (the $25 - $500) with a best buy gift card. However, you can buy the $50 ebay gift card or the $25 ebay gift card with a best buy gift card.

There was a post around one or two hundred pages back that claimed that best buy had gotten rid of these open loop ebay gift cards, however that is not the case. I successfully bought one in a Best Buy on Sunday using my American express card (note I did not try to use a Best Buy gift card for the open loop card.)

I think you aren't understanding the difference between open loop and closed loop. An open loop gift card is a prepaid card that can be used anywhere, such as a Visa or Mastercard prepaid gift card. You can shop at almost any store with such a card. A closed loop gift card is a card that is specific to a single store, such as Target or eBay.

This is different than a variable load card, such as the $25-$500 eBay gift cards that you can purchase at Best Buy. I have successfully purchased such variable load gift cards from Best Buy using a Best Buy gift card.

I just got back from Disney last night and had some GameStop gift cards in mail.... And our stores have stopped allowing purchase of eBay cards with gc. :(

Lowes has 5% cash back bonus with discover card right now up to $1500 spent. Not sure if they have eBay gift cards in store or not, I know I have seen Disney gift cards there. I realize 5% is the same discount that you can get with red card, but I have an extra bonus for the first year of having my discover card so I get double cash back. Might be worth it for 10% cash back!

You gotta let me know if this works!

Is anyone just buying Target gift cards through Raise or Cardpool for 5% off and then just getting Disney gift cards at Target for an additional 5% off?

I do more now. Just got a bunch today from 5.1-8% to use online to get some items for DD on sale for Xmas and another $450 in Disney. I got 10.1-13% off the Disney cards. I prefer the 4x Kroger - Target bc it yields me 19% (without factoring in cc reward) since we can get the whole $35 off every week. But I'm maxing out in gas this promo that's suppose to start on Wed and I'm in a huge crunch to get my cash converted. I have the added benefit of using Shell for the $1 off gallon and also purchase 20% off gas cards from Publix during their promos so I average 80 cents per gallon. I need to buy USO more than Disney so I'm also using Raise.

A couple caveats I use tho -
1. Buy smalls. I don't like to purchase large denominations in case it's a bunk card. I haven't had this happen yet but I would much rather have $50-$200 tied up in a refund process than $2000.

2. Purchase at least at 5.1%

3. Only purchase is ready to use immediately. I do this because if it is a bad card I can start the process immediately and there is less chance for someone to blame me. Also E gift card fraud including people hacking your account and draining cards is so prevalent now I try to keep everything that is in my accounts or emails basically empty.

And you didn't ask but something else I like to do currently when I am trying to maximize my money on a very short time frame and I need to put more capital upfront is during An ebucks promo buy PPDG Best Buy (I have no issues with this on one of my paypal) with cash. Trade for an eBay. Buy a Walgreens and trade for a Disney when comes in. I've done this twice. I've doubled the e-bucks per each promo. Plus the shop kicks from Best Buy are awesome.

I also just got a notification from Walmart that I can get a $10 Walmart e gift card for my first app purchase of $75. I'm thinking of grabbing $75 of Walmart gift cards and seeing if that works. They won't go to waste.

Would love to know if that works for you. Also, if you have Sam's Club membership, you can use also buy Disney GCs at Sam's Club for an additional discount.

It's been a long time but Walmart doesn't blink to trade in a gc for gc right?

Also my mom has Sam's and lets me use it but is it online only that you can do the gift card from Walmart to Sam's Disney cards?

I have been able to do this. This past weekend I used PPDG in store at BB to buy eBay but I have also purchased Disney GC with them in the past.

Definitely worth quoting. I'm doing the same, with very similar caveats. The only difference for me is that I am shooting for Target gift cards over 7% off now, but earlier in the process when I still had a lot to get my limit was 5%. I'm just able to be more picky now and hold out. I've successfully used this method to accumulate $3150 worth of Disney gift cards with a savings of 14.5% since 5/4/16. I haven't had any issues and it has been quick. I was a little worried about hearing people got banned from Target due to being labeled as a reseller, but I haven't had any issues with that either. Not yet at least, but I still have about $1000 to go in the next couple months.

The largest reseller Target gift card I bought was around $580 during the Raise promo that just happened (total of 8.8% discount), and that had me a little nervous. But I did use it all within 2 days and have shipping notices on all my Disney gift cards. The Raise promo code was one time use only and all of the higher percentage gift cards were large value. The $580 was almost the lowest value. But I definitely keep that in mind when purchasing, for the same reason you mentioned. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. ;)

One other thing to mention is even if you don't plan to use the Target gift card right away for a Disney gift card, at least use it right away to buy a "new" Target gift card (or multiple smaller value cards). This does still work on Target.com, I just did it last week. At least you are getting new numbers to prevent any old dishonest owners from using the balance after you've bought it.

I agree about watching out for egift card fraud. I've been very cautious with having Target cards saved on my account or in my email Inbox based on what I've read on this board. Another reason to buy it and use it quick!

I also love that I'm basically paying for my vacation over a period of months. Which you can do by calling and making payments directly to Disney with your credit card as well, but without the added discount.

Edited to add: I do have 1 extra suggestion to add...keep track of everything in a spreadsheet! This has been critical to me in order to keep everything organized and know what balance is on which cards.

Newbie here. What are the most reliable sites to buy Target GCs at the biggest discount? I've been reading this thread for awhile and in the meantime Raise decreased. Disney trip next month so if I'm going to jump on the bandwagon, I will have to quickly. TIA.

Raise will fluctuate their discounts by the minute. Cards are constantly being purchased and posted. I spent an hour this morning between doing other things refreshing the page and purchasing when something hit. I would keep checking there. Other resellers have a different guarantees so I check that before you decided to purchase from anyone. You can get target cards from some groceries with fuel points rewards. I use Kroger and I think some others on here use different ones.

Does anyone else have issues with Cardcash? I ordered a Target GC last night with the promo code GETGOING, received confirmation email and hours later recieved a cancellation email with no explanation. I vaguely recall someone else posting about cancellations but have read so much lately I don't remember if they ever determined what the issue was.

I've ordered from them about 7 times over the course of some years and no issues. It's weird they didn't notify you to the reason. I wonder if maybe they verified the gift card balance before sending it to you and it was wrong so they just cancelled it?

As a previous poster mentioned, Raise fluctuates very quickly! The overall discounts did drop significantly over the weekend due to a promotion for an extra 3% off. It's still good for today, I saw an email this morning it was extended (extra3). So I think it will rise back up to be about par with other resellers in the next couple days after this promo ends. Check out the giftcardgranny website to compare various resellers in one place.

Thanks, JamieOak, I found it strange also. I ordered another one, so hopefully it will work this time. I am in a time crunch now, I had no intention of going to WDW so soon but my best friend decided to come down with her family. I also blame the move From NJ to FL, lol. I always ordered the Target GC with my Redcard, never thought to get a discounted Target GC 1st. I ordered tickets from Parksavers that I'll be upgrading to APs, have Disney Rewards also but wanted to pay for the difference and meals with Disney GC. Fingers crossed.
