Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

For the time being they may have reverted to the honor system for drinks, it might improve wait times.

Refrigerator question:
I have stay at POFQ and for the life of me can't remember if it is a fridge only or if it has the little freezer compartment.
I have an injury that needs to be iced and I'd rather bring (non-messy) freezer packs from home than use actual ice.
Thanks.

Sorry no freezer section.

So if you want to go down to Riverside do you have to just get on the first but you see or do they have a shuttle van to go between resorts like they do at animal Kingdom Lodge?

I have seen buses that say "Internal resort transportation" (or something like that) which is what, I assume, is bringing guests between the two. We haven't tried it yet, though, and not sure that we will.

As the PP has said I've seen the internal buses but we just walk if going to Riverside. During the late morning & afternoon the boat to DS stops at both resorts coming and going . As of last year the boats go direct to DS from each resort around 4:30ish.

Correct, the Disney Springs buses switch to Internal Shuttle mode within the resort, then go back to FQ again, then off to Disney Springs.

Thanks, Andre...I may have to do that. :-)

Photos and menus from @NCDisneyMom (she apologises for the focus in some of them, it was a bit dark to get good shots). Thanks for the update!

Are you still able to get a whole pizza or only individuals? For beverages, is it only coffee and soda or do they still have the ice tea machines?

What about getting those ice packs that you can break from like Dicks or a sporting good store? Yes it isn't free but might be a good solution.

This is the first time I've tried faxing the POFQ resort with a room request.

At online check-in will you see if the request went through?
Will there be any indication at online check-in that they've made the room selection based on the fax?

Or should I not even mess with online check-in, and just go to the front desk hoping that they read my beautiful fax?

Online checkin can be done up to 60 days out, and is purely a computer thing which updates the reservation details on the system. Sending a faxed request would be something to do 3-5 days out (after doing online checkin) and it goes directly to the team at the resort. They may decide to simply leave it to the Ready Room system in some cases, or they may pre-block a room (more likely in cases of medical requests, multi-room requests, etc).

Thank you, Andre, for posting them all for me. I just don't have a strong enough connection in the room to get them to upload. :-)

It's really not as bad as I was afraid it would be. It gets a little bit crowded in the grab and go area, but it's workable. I've not, personally, seen any long lines for the Coke machines. And we have had plenty of seating available to us the few times we have eaten there.

If anyone has any questions, let me know, and I'll try to answer as best as I can (next time I'm on the laptop in the room, that is). lol

I think this might have been asked, but I can't find it at the minute. Does the rapid refill cups work in the new coke machines?

Also, if you have been over to Riverside, are the QS/TS areas much busier?

We were there May 30-June 4. Our fridge had a freezer 'section' that did not have a door. There was a lot of ice buildup inside and our water bottles kept freezing solid even though they were outside of that box. I defrosted it two nights running and turned the temp higher and it was still very cold. I never did get it to an optimum temp as bottles kept freezing.

If staying at POFQ in mid-December, what are the chances POFQ will share a bus with POR versus having its own buses to the parks? The small size of POFQ as a moderate is a huge selling point, especially if there is only one bus stop!
We've stayed there several times over the years, only shared a bus once and that was years ago.

Anyone have a screenshot of the options available during online check in? Mine is fast approaching and I want to be prepared. Looks like building 4 or 5 are closest to the bus stop.

Just for the record, I usually request 'near transportation' and do online check in. We book standard rooms. So far, I have gotten buildings 3, 4, 5 & 5 (last two rooms were GV even though I booked std).
