FROZEN in Carbonite! Updating for Halloween at Sea World and Disney

Awesome! So glad he liked it and is going to do all of them next year! I hope to do the Star Wars races someday.

Hope you get to do one some day!

Yikes! Gators.

I am so glad that he liked the run and plans on doing more. My DH jumped from planning to do a half marathon to just doing the full marathon. The only run he had done was a 10K while training for the full marathon. He hasn't done a marathon since, because it was just a lot of time to train. He seems to be looking forward to doing the half Wine & Dine in 2017. I will do my first 5K. I'll start training next year:rolleyes:

The full marathon!!! Wow!

Which 5K are you going to do?

If ds continues to do better, we are thinking of me and him getting ready to do the 5K next year. That early in the morning he should be fine outside that long with his cooling vest on.

Our only concern is the corral. People are packed in there very tight. Crowds like that make him very anxious. And dh said the finish got bottlenecked too.

I know. I hate running, so I think a full marathon is insane:crazy: I would do the 2017 Wine & Dine 5k, and DH would do the half. It's near my birthday, so I thought it would make a great birthday present to myself (Not the 5k. F&W:)

Star Wars A Galaxy Far Far Away Show Review

A friend of ours asked us to meet them last Sunday at DHS. DH was working so ds and I went. Got there before them and just in time to catch the 2:30 Star Wars Far Far Away show. Ended up we had more than enough time as the show was delayed. It was a soft opening!

We were in the third row of people. I'm kid sized and ds is just a pinch taller than me. This was our view of the stage before the show started.

Since we couldn't see the stage, we decided to drop back to the construction wall. Which was a great view until more people arrived and hoisted their kids up on their shoulders.

So we moved again, a little bit further down the wall and had a much better view!

Here are my thoughts on the show. It would make an excellent night time show or actual theatre show. For children, wheelchair, or vertically challenged people like myself, it is difficult to view this show. Unless, something has been set up for kids in front or a wheel chair section, they don't stand a chance of seeing unless in the front row. The screens were difficult to see in full sun. I could not see R2D2 or BB-8 at all. If you want to see the show in all it's glory, it's best to view it online. I saw some incredible video including one here on the DIS!
Please note, in the video, the 1st part is Phasma's march which is not part of the Galaxy Far Far Away Show.
Thank you soooo much for providing this link! These photos are AWESOME!!! Oh my gosh it's making it even more difficult to keep this trip a secret..only 7 more months to go...lol

Thanks for joining in.

I've never tried to keep vacations a secret, but it's got to be really tough!

Are you revealing on departure date?!

After making a reservation and 2 changes, I think I have successfully booked our 25th wedding anniversary trip! Originally, I booked a bounce back. Found an AP rate cheaper so changed it. And the other day, I found an even cheaper FL resident rate at a different resort. Looks like I'm all set, unless another discount pops up!

Where are you staying? When are you going?

July! I'm booked somewhere else, but I'm hoping CBR opens with the sane price. I'll keep checking until then.

We, DH and I, are going again in July too. We will be there 7/21-27 for the podcast anniversary. We are staying at POFQ for the first time.

That's great!

FQ is very nice. We've only stayed there once. But at POR many times. My kids like the theme pool better at POR.

I prefer POFQ to POR. I like the smallness of it.

Since it's adults only, we wanted to try POFQ. I think DS wouldn't like their pool as much as POR. He really liked the pool at CBR though. I am thinking our trip next year, we might try CSR, so that we can try all of the moderates:)

Cool! We like all the mods. Each has their own charm. Ds likes CBR the best.

We haven't done an adult only trip in over 20 years! You're lucky!

I know:) Luckily, DS will be at the grandparents, so he won't feel so bad about not coming.

I planned on celebrating May the 4th at DHS this morning. But the nasty weather has changed my plans. I just cancelled my FP+.

Since my window opened up for our July trip, I went to make FP. Silly me! I can't! ! Dh and my AP expire in June.

We have been toying around on holding off on renewal. DS is going to a summer day camp in June and is thinking of auditioning for a musical that will have rehearsals in July and shows in August and early September.

So we were thinking of holding off on the AP until September. When we'd buy them new.

This may end up being a 4 night 5 day, no Disney park vacation. We still have AP for Sea World with no block out dates. Our AP for Universal has black out dates. Since we're going over the 4th, I'd assume one if not both parks are blacked out.

This planning could be interesting!

Hopefully we'll get to see Olaf tomorrow since we didn't go today.

Got the heads up on the SW thread that SW Celebration 2017 will be in Orlando. I was looking at resort rates for it. And ones that are walking distance to the convention center. In talking to dh, he suggested I book a room at Disney. Um..Yeah!! After all, the Darkside Challenge 2017 is the very next weekend.

How to Find Olaf

The meet and greet is located indoors, but the majority of the queue is outdoor. It's located at the side of the ABC Theater beside the restroom. Here are some additional pictures.

It's directly across from the Indiana Jones shopping cart.

I'll comment above each picture

In this picture, I'm standing near the outdoor tables at the Backlot Express across from JTA and the Olaf M&G is diagonally across from me.

In this next one, the restroom is the shack looking building at the left. To get to the queue head right around the stroller parking. You can see the CM at the entrance under the Radio Disney sign.

DSC_0173_1.jpg

This is the only sign for the M&G. As you can see, it's blocked from vision of those passing by since it's between strollers. Also, note the ice cream cart at the entrance of the queue.

This is the sign that's hidden.

The entrance to the queue is to the right of this sign.

The outdoor portion of the queue is under these metallic looking roofs.

The M&G is across the street from this Indy cart.

In this next picture, you can see the queue to the Path of the Jedi film to the right of the queue for the Olaf M&G

You enter from the hallway from the side that the cm is holding up his arm.

The queue in the hallway after the cm. You can fit 3 people across.
I'm claustrophobic and felt a bit closed in, not as closed in as the standby queue for Peter Pan though.

The blue walled room is the M&G!

We changed our plans. Instead of going to WDW for July 4th, ds and I are heading to PA. Our anniversary trip is rebooked to the end of August. Our actual Anniversary is the middle of August. But rates change from regular to value on August 26th. So we will take advantage of that price change.

DS is waiting to hear if he got a role in a show. He had his first ever call back yesterday. It was unnerving for him as he is a struggling reader. His sight is 20/20, but he has visual processing problems. The words and letters appear to move on the page for him. At home we use large fonts and he has a special paper that makes it so he can only see one line at a time. He said the reading aspect didn't go too well, there were some words he couldn't figure out quickly and he lost his place once. But the director helped him. So it's just a wait and see now. He'll either get a call he got a role or an email that he didn't. Those will come some time this weekend.

We are still holding off on renewing our AP.

I booked reservations for 2017. For the weekend of Star War Celebration and the weekend after that for the Darkside Challenge. Parking at the convention center was easy, so I booked a Disney resort! Dh is going to do all 3 races. He now has his 10K time within the time frame for just walking it. He's no where close to half marathon speed or distance.

We'll be around at the end of August - would love to meet you to say "Thanks" for all of your help and info over the years! We'll be there from the 19th - 29th.
