Who's already planning for 2017 or 2018

For those of you booking February 2017, when are you purchasing flights? I keep checking daily. The best rate I can find so far for 3 people is 1200.00 roundtrip Delta (this is Burlington VT to MCO). Wondering if I should purchase or wait for Jet Blue to release flights, although their prices have gone up drastically since 4 or 5 years ago!

Dream resort-Beach club

Reality-off sites, probably at Wyndham bonnet creek

Oh! The Beach Club that is another one I really want to try! It would be great to be close to EPCOT and the theme is perfect too.
Have you stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek before? It looks really nice in photographs I have considered it in the past but just not sure about the traffic and time to travel back and forth to the parks.

Dream Resort - Poly (me) GF (hubs)

Reality - Moderate, probably POR. Or maybe Deluxe - AKL

The kids really like AKL so I'm hoping that it's possible. Having to book 2 rooms is a killer! o_O
Ugg! Having to have two rooms would be a budget killer! Have you thought about the FW cabins? Staying there as a kid would have been fun I think. It would be almost like to totally different vacations in one! The outdoors recreation and relaxation and then the parks for excitement.

We've never stayed at WBC before-this is our first trip to Disney. But I'm not too worried about the travel time.

AKL May 3rd thru 11th, 2017, celebrating our 48th Wedding Anniversary. 2nd stay at AKL, 9th trip to WDW.

I have looked at them, but I think I want more of a resort experience than a camping one. Also, with 5 people, possibly 6 (if my MIL goes), I think we need 2 full bathrooms. Thank you for suggesting it though! I'm thinking moderate is the way we will probably go, I really like POR, but CBR has caught my eye too. Everything just hinges on how good of a discount we can find. In addition, we have decided on doing a split stay with either 2 or 3 of our nights at a USO resort.

I love Polynesian and BC/YC. Grew up staying at the Polynesian CL, but now we spend the majority of our time in Epcot. The location of the Polynesian just isn't conducive to our touring style at this time in our lives. We are likely going to be at BC/YC or BWI or renting points at BCV or BWV. Happy planning all! :mickeyjum

OKAY, I know we are all dreaming about trips to Disney, so let's have a bit of fun.
First state your dream resort and then state what resort you are most likely going to be at when you do go back.

I will start,

Dream resort - Poly (I have never stayed there and this is the resort I remember my mother saying that she would love to stay at one day too. So, I would love to stay there to fulfill our fantasy due to the tropical theme and the monorail.)

Reality - Moderate or Value resort - hoping for a moderate again with a discount.

Dream: AKL (applied for part-time job to hopefully save up enough)

Reality: POR Royal Room

As long as I make it there I could be stayin on the street and be happy:tongue:

My dream resorts are Contemporary (due to the Monorail and just the beauty of it) and Beach Club (Stormalong Bay, lol).
The reality is possibly a value resort (All Star Music) but I'm pushing for a moderate (Port Orleans).

You are right in that it is pretty close to the parks. After your visit, I hope you come back to this thread and share what you thought of it. It is nice to read recent reviews of the resorts.

AKL May 3rd thru 11th, 2017, celebrating our 48th Wedding Anniversary. 2nd stay at AKL, 9th trip to WDW.
WOO HOO! :dancer: 48 years! :bride: Congratulations! Today is my 29th anniversary. We are talking about doing some type of trip for our 30th anniversary but nothing set yet.

I can totally understand your need for two bathrooms!:crowded: M

:beach: It is fun to plan a trip to WDW, especially when you have great company:grouphug: to bounce ideas of each other or just to share your excitement! :disrocks:

So, true! Just as long as I get to go to Disney! :mickeyjum It doesn't really matter where we stay!:tigger:

The past two trips I took, I was between a value and a moderate too. I had even originally booked the value and then the discounts came out and I was able to rebook in the moderate. So, hopefully you will have a bit of pixiedust:pixie dust too!

To keep things going, what is everyone's number one restaurant/meal that you are putting into your plans?

I think mine is Ohana's since we had such a wonderful meal there the last time. I know current reviews are hit and miss but I think I have to try it.

I would like to try something new too. Right now I am still debating on whether or not to get a meal plan or just pay out of pocket and do mostly counter service. It really depends on who ends up going with me. I just know that I am going.

It's already been decided that we ARE going back in 2017, just now figuring out the WHEN part. Also hoping that all the *major * construction will be finished

It's looking more and more like it will be in Dec for the MVMCP. I know the 4 girls (wife included) will love this. We went last time in July and OMG it was too hot!!! Never again doing that.

I'm going back and forth between Poly & GF. We stayed at the GF last time it was sooooo nice!! the girls saw the Poly one day on our way to MK and said "next time let's stay there" so now I can't decide......

Going again:
QS = Cosmic Ray
TS/CS = Tusker House

Really want to try this time around:
TS = BOG/CRT
QS = Columbia Harbour House

We will doing DDP and paying anything extra OOP. It doesn't make $$$ sense to upgrade to DXDP

Columbia Harbour House is also on my list to try. I had BOG for lunch on my last trip. Great experience and it was just a counter service credit. So, I was able to experience the theme of the restaurant, have a wonderful meal and midday break. AND I then had my table service credits to still use for a different restaurant. So, you may want to consider eating lunch there instead of dinner. Similar food choice at both times.

The two meals we're doing for sure are Be Our Guest lunch and Biergarten. I'm looking forward to both.

I have more than one, lol.

My daughter wants to eat at Ohana for breakfast...she is a HUGE Stitch fan.
My son has requested Rain Forest Cafe again. We ate there last time on our AK day and it was probably the best meal we had. Everybody enjoyed it!
And we have all agreed that we want to go to BOG again. We had breakfast last time, this time we want to try dinner.

Since I'm doing 2 trips I'm doing my Must Do's in Feb/March and then will do DH's in Oct/Nov.

For my spring trip it will be Victoria and Albert's as what I'm hoping for and Citricos as a definite. I'm only going to be there 4 nights but neither of these my DH wants to do so I'm doing them solo.

For the fall trip we're hoping to do Narcoossee's and Yachtsman since we've never been and DH has 2 Must do's.... Biergarten and Trails End.

Dream Resort is Grand Floridian or Polynesian

For the spring trip I'm hoping I can work it so I can get Wilderness Lodge since it's only 4 nights. For the fall trip it will likely be Coronado Springs as DH things the mods are the best option for us.

To keep things going, what is everyone's number one restaurant/meal that you are putting into your plans?

Since we plan to go during F&W, we will primarily be hitting the booths for lunches/dinners. However, we do plan on doing a couple TS for weekend dinners when it's harder to get to the booths. Those would be Le Cellier, San Angel, and 50s Prime Time. All subject to change of course. I have yet to try BOG and would like to sneak in there for an early lunch one day!

Oh my gosh I forgot about discounts, yes I hope I can get one. :)

I've never had Ohana's but one day I would like to. My number one restaurant is Kona Cafe- I have to try Tonga Toast. lol

I'm also planning to go for F&W, are you planning to spend several days in Epcot or use park hoppers? I am thinking of trying 2 days in Epcot. I'm not sure about getting park hoppers to return every night. lol
