Who's already planning for 2017 or 2018

How nice for you! It should be a really nice time to go crowd wise and decent weather. I have often thought about renting points. If you do stay at BWV on rented points, come back here and let us know how it works out. Do you plan to do a trip report? If so, post the link here and I can check it out.

That goes for everyone on this thread. Once 2017 and 2018 arrive and people go on their trips, come back here to this thread and post links to TRs! It will keep us all entertained until as we dream of Disney and future trips.
I meant to say we can only take leaves during regular school breaks. Haha
I will follow up after our stay, happily!

wow, I felt like I was planning ahead for my March 2017 trip until I read this thread started in 2014. :)

I think I'm always planning my next Disney trip, even if I don't know when it will be exactly.

Somehow I managed to luck out and can now plan 2 trips to WDW for 2017! I was torn between doing a birthday trip early in the year for my 40th or going during Food&Wine and MNSSHP in the fall, with the RunDisney event at the end. Hubby suggested I do both!

I'm going solo either the last week of February or first week of March for 4 or 5 days and then going with DH for 10 days or so the end of October/beginning of November.

Now I get to plan 2 trips, instead of just one and they will be such different trips as I'm a Disney Nut and solo will be so much fun, but DH isn't so much a fan, but will enjoy the party and will support me when I do my first RunDisney event!

I had to smile at your comment, because it reflects the craziness of being a Disney fan and those of us on the DIS. We are always thinking about, talking about plans for future trips. Whereas, in all other trips and for most of the general population, planning a trip six months out would be considered to be early planning!

Your hubby sounds like a great guy! It is great he is onboard with you planning two trips in 2017. Like you, my hubby is not real keen on Disney. I would like to go solo sometime too.

Planning an August 2017 trip with my daughter and three grandsons. These guys are sports fanatics so it"ll be All Star Sports. Fine with me because I pay for the room and am booking two connecting. We always start early so am anxious to plop down some savings and get things rolling. Wish I didn't have to wait til July or August to lock in! Gonna put all the "men" in one room and daughter and self in other. No seats left up!!!whooo whooo!!!!

We are still planning for 2017 just don't have a week pinned down yet. If oldest DS decides to join us then we can only go the week of Memorial Day because of the different school and college schedules (he will take a summer class/es). If he doesn't want to come then it will be the first full week of June for most likely 8 or 9 nights. I know that he won't make a decision until Fall so I will just have to hold it all in!

Sounds like a great plan, boys in one room and the girls in the other! Too funny about your comment, "no seats left up!"! I agree, it is hard to wait when you are super excited to get the planning officially in motion.

I, too, am still considering our dates for our trip. I, first have to convince my hubby that we need to go or at least I need to go.
I was thinking it will most likely have to be in the summer, but I am thinking about early March. I want to avoid the large Spring Break crowds though so I need to check when Easter is next year.

Yea a 2017 crowd!!! :) I found my home. lol

If I can keep up with my budget I will be in Disney in October 2017. I really want to celebrate my birthday, the Food & Wine Festival and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. :)

I honestly have no idea if anyone will go with me. Right now I'll just book it as a solo trip and announce my idea in October to see who wants to go.

Booked my May 2017 room only it will be my DD first time and I plan :fingers crossed: on keeping it a surprise until we get to Magical Express to get to our hotel!!! I'm counting down until I can book the Spring package deals which was another decision to make it in May other than the weather. I'm sooooooo excited I haven't been since I was about 16 (I'm going on 30) so it's been a LLLOOONNNGGGG overdue trip. And now thinking of 2019 maybe DD 13th birthday trip (free dinning played a part in that one hehe)

I am obviously a Disney freak :) and even though I am not going to be able to afford to go back to my Happy Place until sometime in 2017 or 2018 that doesn't stop me from thinking about when to go, where we will stay, what extras we will budget for, etc.

So I figure there are probably other people out there like me so this is the thread for all of us that have the long wait till we can go back again.

You can come here and talk about all the ideas you have for your next trip to Disney.

Who's with me??!! :goodvibes

Hiya, how exciting your post, we massive uk disney fan and have been going every 2 years since 1998 but missed 2014 & 2016 due to son joining Royal Navy/redundancy. so cant wait to get back in 2017. Everything will have changed so much. Where do you like to stay? and where do you prefer? We have always stayed off site at Quality Inn International now rosen Inn International. We love the I drive atmosphere.

:welcome: home Naomi! I just have to say I know exactly what you mean when you say that you know you are going back even if it is solo. That sounds like me in part. It has been two years since I was at WDW and I want to go back to bad. I haven't figured out who will be going with me yet, but I know I just have to make plans and go! :moped:

:welcome:kizzy! You are right in that there will be lots of changes for you on your next trip but then the nice thing about returning to WDW is that there are also lots of things that stay the same, which I love too!

For me, in the past I have stayed both off and on Disney property. I always go back and forth between the too. When I have stayed at a Disney property it is due to a discount of some sort that makes it feasible for us. I like the convenience of the Disney transportation and not having to leave the area but then again I am only there for a week at the most. I expect coming from overseas, your trip is for a longer amount of time.

Right now I am planning on staying at a moderate resort again or one of the values. I have stayed at three of the moderates, CSR, CBR and PORFQ and would be happy with any of the three again.

The Little Mermaid rooms at AoA might be an option too depending on whether or not my whole family goes or just some of us.

Yippee for you! :yay: My last trip in 2014 was in February. We had really great weather! I wore shorts on some days and had jacket and jeans on a few of the cooler days.
It was great since at home the weather was about 10 degrees below zero at the time and had lots of snow!

The crowds were lighter too than what I am used to, except when it started to get crowded at the end of my trip on the Friday leading into President's Day weekend.

When in February are you going?

Feb 10 - 18. We are hoping the crowds will be low since it will be after the holidays and before spring break. The last we went was the end of Sept 2011 for my birthday.

Six yeas is a long time between trips! Lots of things will be new but also there will be some things the same. It is nice that you will be going for eight days so you will have plenty of time to see and do things. Presidents' Day will be Monday, Feb. 20 in 2017 so, you see the big crowds start to arrive Thursday the 16th and will be jut grow the last few days of your trip. So, I suggest you just plan resort time and activities in the parks that you did not get to at the beginning of the trip but maybe not the big headliners. When the crowds arrive there is a huge change in the wait times and even standing in line for lunch, etc.

The beginning of the week will be great - low crowds.

Thank you mdsouth for the welcome! I actually just got a promotion and I think I've got a good estimate on how much difference this promotion makes so yes my budget should definitely stay on track and then Disney here I'll come! :) .. Btw my name is Naomi, lol. :)

Naomi, Cool, a promotion! Disney is that much closer now! I went back and edited your name in my previous post. Thanks for letting me know.

OKAY, I know we are all dreaming about trips to Disney, so let's have a bit of fun.
First state your dream resort and then state what resort you are most likely going to be at when you do go back.

I will start,

Dream resort - Poly (I have never stayed there and this is the resort I remember my mother saying that she would love to stay at one day too. So, I would love to stay there to fulfill our fantasy due to the tropical theme and the monorail.)

Reality - Moderate or Value resort - hoping for a moderate again with a discount.

Dream Resort - Poly (me) GF (hubs)

Reality - Moderate, probably POR. Or maybe Deluxe - AKL

The kids really like AKL so I'm hoping that it's possible. Having to book 2 rooms is a killer! o_O
