After returning from our super fun afternoon at MK, the boys and I headed down for one last swim at Stormalong Bay! Of course no visit to SAB is complete without a Sunken Treasure! Yum......
After getting ready, we were off for our last dinner at Chefs de France! I had a purchase to make before dinner so I headed over a little bit earlier than the boys. You see, when DH and I were at dinner at Narcoosees, he had asked me what I would like for my upcoming 50th birthday and then suggested a Disney trip! Well, what is a girl to say to that but a resounding yes please! I thought it would be probably be cheaper to upgrade my current hopper ticket than buy a new one for the August trip. So, off I went to get this..........
My first premium annual pass!! So, so excited! I am going back solo in August and staying at the Boardwalk. Can't wait! I met up with DH and the boys and we made our way over to Chefs de France. We had an awesome server and a wonderful table with a partial view of the fireworks. DS2 decided to be adventuresome this evening and was talking about trying escargot.....After checking out the menus, he thought he'd follow through with his plan!
He loved them! We were all enjoying the crusty baguette as well with salted butter.
DS3 decided to go with prix fixe menu and chose the lobster bisque as his appetizer. He loved this and found nice pieces of lobster throughout.
Dh and I both went with french onion soup as our appetizer although this was so rich it could have easily been a main. There was a ton of gruyere cheese in here with the bread, onions and broth. It was absolutely delicious! I only managed about half as I didn't want to fill up before our main courses.
DS1 was not feeling the best this evening and chose not to go with an appetizer. He and DS2 both settled on the macaroni au gratin for their main course. This was creamy and yummy but so, so rich. They could have easily split this and had plenty.
DH loves duck so his main was an easy choice. He loved the cherry sauce and found it paired really well with the tender duck breast.
DS1 chose the salmon with rice pilaf and asparagus. The salmon was perfectly cooked with a lovely lemon caper sauce and he loved it!
I went with the roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The chicken was tender and juicy with a nice crispy skin. The broccoli was a perfect tender crisp and the potatoes lovely and creamy. This is a HUGE portion and could easily have been split by two people. I was able to finish about 1/2 even though I felt guilty about wasting so much food.
As both DS2 and I had ordered the prix fixe menu, we were entitled to two desserts. DH and and I split the creme brulee which was fabulous with a perfect sugar crust. The boys split the profiteroles and loved them. The chocolate sauce on these was amazing! Poor DS1 had headed back to the hotel by this point as he just wanted to go and lie down. The twins, DH and I headed off to enjoy EMH at Epcot! We all loved Chefs de France and will definitely be back to enjoy another meal there in the future.
