Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I am reading that all the Beach Club Villas - Studio's have a balcony. What I am curious to know is if they all have the larger, walk-out balcony or if the studios also have some of the small juliette (standing room only) balonies. We are staying in a studio in August and my most important request is a walk out balcony. If they have both size of balconies, do you know what floors offer the larger balconies for the studios?

Any help would be appreciated!

Funny you should ask....

Because I'm a tad "obsessive" when it comes to Disney planning and I keep EVERYTHING.... I just looked up my itinerary from 2012 and according to my notes, I ordered it thru Private Dining at the Beach Club. It was a 2 tier mini wedding cake and at that time they charged me $35 for the cake and an extra $10 for the graduation cap which I didn't think was bad considering Disney prices to begin with. DD was completely surprised and happy and the cake was very good.

Thanks for that info. That is not a bad price at all. DH will definitely be surprised.

All rooms have walk-out balconies with the smallest accommodating 2 chairs and a small table. We were in a studio [431] our last visit which had a huge balcony! I'll see if I have a picture and post it later.

Great information! I would love to see a photo. Thanks!

Here it is. Sorry for the wet bathing suit on the chair. You can see some of the other balconies in the background.

That is incredible! Is that what the balconies look like when they are a lock off from a 1 bedroom? That is just fabulous! My 2 teenagers could actually escape from each other in this type of situation (or me from the teens!)

The balconies for each room type and floor really vary from one another based on the design/layout of the BCV. The majority of the balconies are the smaller [2 chairs and table] variety, but you may get lucky and get a larger one. I'll see if I have a picture that shows the variety.

I didn't know this. That's great! The only thing I didn't like about our room at BC was the standing balcony. We stayed in a 2BR villa at AKV this past January. I can't imagine our family of six going back and not having that much space. If we could be guaranteed connecting rooms, I'd be fine with two rooms booked at a magical deal. But the one time we booked that, and were told it was guaranteed because of our adult to child ratio, our rooms were separated by about five rooms. We also really liked having our room separate from the kids (and the girls liked having a room they didn't have to share with their brother).

BCV refurb starting with top floor (from the dvc news website):

A wing containing fourteen guest rooms is currently blocked-off as the refurbishment begins at Disney's Beach Club Villas.

Rooms 539 to 552 are currently unavailable to guest as workers begin renovations at the popular Disney Vacation Club resort. A total of fourteen rooms are located in this resort wing:

  • Two Dedicated Deluxe Studio villas
  • Four Lockoff Deluxe Studio villas
  • Four Lockoff One Bedroom villas
  • Four Dedicated Two Bedroom villas

Additionally, the rooms immediately beneath this wing on the resort's fourth floor have also reportedly been blocked-off and removed from use. The purpose of this move may be to shield guests from the rooms located immediately underneath those being renovated. Among the updates slated for this refurbishment are changes to floor coverings, along with a full bathroom renovation including new bath tubs and tile.

Renovations to all 208 rooms are expected to last through summer 2016.

I'm really glad to see this has started. While we won't be back for a few years as a whole family, my husband thought the villa at AKV was looking a bit tired. So having a room that's been renovated relatively recently will be helpful in convincing my husband to stay somewhere besides AKV. My kids all want to go back to Stormalong Bay. I tried to price out a 2 BR villa and couldn't find a room to save my life, so I wonder if I was just using dates where some of these were taken out of use.

It isn't a very clear picture and I have the large balcony option checked, but here is the screen shot of the Beach Club online check in options page.

One word of caution - once you make and save your original selections, you will not be able to change them. So only choose the options you REALLY REALLY know you want, cause you can't change your mind later.

:)

Well, one week from today and I will be at the Beach Club!! I am really looking forward to relaxing in some warmer weather and doing nothing. My kids tease us saying we are retired, we do nothing but relax all the time!!! Not true at all. We will be celebrating 44 years of wedded bliss on the 18th and watching some friend run the Princess Marathon.

We have had some light snow her in TN, nothing like we are used to having in MA, but some any way. About 1-2 inches and no school for my granddaughters for 2 days! If anyone has any questions while I am at the Beach Club please ask. We are just going to be laying around, only a couple park days, have to use some of my retirement perks!

If you remember, would you take a look in the gift shop and see if they have the 2016 graduation ears? Once I know for sure they're out, I'll be able to order. TIA

I didn't know that! Thanks for the warning.

I'll add that to the info upfront where I have the screen shots posted.

:thumbsup2

Awesome!

Someone wanted to know the brand of mattresses at the Beach Club. Someone there, maybe this week, was going to try and check, but if you happen to see a label, can you take note of the info or take a picture?

Thanks!

The buses to MK and AK stop at the YC first, right? How often do the buses fill up completely at the YC and drive past the BC? I'm not a big fan of waiting and was wondering if it is worth it to just walk from the BC to the YC to catch a bus. Is that necessary?

Also, we are arriving on April 1st. Our flight lands at 3:10 and we have FASTPASS reservations for Splash Mountain at 6:00. Are we going to be cutting it too close or is that OK?

This will be our first trip to the BC after previous stays at AKL and POLY. We loved both of those resorts for their specific charms and are looking forward to a new experience at the BC. We didn't make our reservations until January 14th, but was able to snag dinner reservations for both the CRT (6:45 PM) and Be Our Guest (8:55 PM). I feel quite fortunate.

Okay, I'll give this a shot and I'll try to do it in an orderly fashion.
Buses for MK and AK do stop at the YC first. I have seen what seem to be full buses pull in to BC to take on more passengers...they do pack them in. I have never seen a bus "drive past" BC. I don't think the walk over to YC is necessary but if you absolutely need a seat it might be worth the extra walk.
Bonus info: The buses are the most full in the AM. So, if you're going for an early ADR or rope drop then get out there early..... 7:00 - 7:15 for an 8:00 EMH [as an example]

If you're FP is 6:00 - 7:00 you have a chance. I'm not sure how you're getting to your resort or if you'll have a car? You also run the risk that your flight might be late. Worth the risk? Yes, by all means.

Most of my responses got embedded in your original above...I continue to be inept with trying to be creative.....

Have fun at MK but be sure to enjoy the experience of having Epcot in your "backyard" and also the close proximity to HS!

So excited! Just booked our first stay at Yacht Club for April Spring Break! We will be five in a room (3 adults + 2 children). Do all the rooms with 2 Queens have a daybed? Not critical but would be great to be able to spread out. Also, we are garden view--any tips for room requests to be close to the "sand" pool? TIA!!

I just booked the BC tonight!! Last minute trip planned for March because i found out 2 of my girlfriends will be at Disney (one with her kids and the other is visiting her brother). I feel like I've researched the crap out of all the resorts since i'm going back in June for a surprise trip for my niece (staying at AoA Cars suite), but for some reason never really looked at the resorts in this area. And then today, i saw the light, and knew that I needed to change from where they are staying (Music resort) to here. I hope I did good because i didn't put in my usual 40 hours of research before changing, i just went with my gut feeling ;)
