The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

I knew whatcha meant. :) Hopefully, your travel will work out nicely, and we can still sneak in a teensy visit on the 19th.

Oh goody! That would be fun. I showed her a post on your thread when we were talking about Dim Sum and she got confused with you and pkondz. She was like " there's sone guy saying he will have dim sum with you when he comes here!". I had to read back for context and figure out that it was you. I was totally confused because I know pkondz has no plans to come here maybe ever.

The nostalgia. The plan for our adult night has been to do Cali Grill and watch wishes.. but since I think Sunday the 6th will be a Christmas party my last shot to watch wishes for the trip will be Saturday the 5th at our dinner.. so I've made the decision that we are going to eat early and go have some adult MK time. Then watch wishes arm in arm in front of the castle where it should be watched :))))

A perfect Adults' Night Out in my book! Cali is a wonderful place to enjoy a great meal, a glass of wine and all with a view! BUUUUT, I love that you're headed back out to watch Wishes together; how lovely and romantic.

You'll do great! SIM lab pixie dust! :tinker:

THanks! It turned out pretty well. :)

I know this is a ways back in the report but that's because I'm a little behind in my report reading (sorry)...this conversation (and your subsequent story) is so interesting to me partly because of the differences a couple years makes in medical care which all seems so old school to what's available today. In 91, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the age of 13. I did have the internal portacath then. A lot of similar and parallel type experiences I'm sure -- remission, re-diagnosis, BMT and the subsequent life long effects of that darn radiation (fibrous lungs, kidney failure, wimpy immune system, more cancer). But as you've shown, attitude and faith is everything so still chugging along at 37, being thankful for each day.

Rooting for you Steppesister as you work towards your goal--nurses are great!

Just read at your own pace- no hurry here. This seems to be a thread with several hardcore fighters; you all are my heroes! To overcome such hard stuff is so admirable. You are right- faith plays a huge part in healing.

Thanks for your cheering my on. It's a long, tough road, but I'm almost there!

No way! I"ll totally be down to SoCal someday, hopefully sooner than later! I have some family down there in Hemet still and friends in Lake Forest. At some point, I"ll need a Disney fix and that's WAY closer and more affordable than WDW. But not before October....

This SIM Day went faaaaaaaar better than last year's! Anticipated and responded well to my patients' needs. So relieved that is over and I can move onto the rest of this term!! Woot!

All right! Way to go!

I don't know why I even get excited. I knew you were going to do well.
I did.

The 2nd is much more fun.

Certainly more controversial.
Did they ever pry it out of his cold dead hand?

I imagined them all dead. Thankfully, not one coded or died.

Okay. That's another way to go, sure.

I was totally confused because I know pkondz has no plans to come here maybe ever.

Wrong.

Yes, but can it dance the merengue?

No, but when it needed to have some hyper-reflexive tendons it was pretty funny.

Sounds like fun!

Well.. if you're the instructor, maybe.

Maybe I should go back to school and get my Masters to teach.

You'll do great. I already know this. And I'm psychotic.

I believe it.

Nice! Now.... get to bed this instant young lady! Lights out in two minutes. And I mean it! Don't make me come over there!

I did. Well, mostly. I got through about the 1st 3 sentences of your TR, and went to sleep. Visions of Maui dancing in my head.

Unless you want to read my update first... then okay.
But right after that!

I'll get there! Promise.

Smooooth. Had to look it up; not sure when, if ever, I"ve seen that.

Okay. That's another way to go, sure.

Well, I meant I imagined my instructors giving inordinate amounts of chastisement had they not lived through my shift. And although they weren't all Mickeys, they were in "not much under there".

Let me know if you have/make a plan.

That IS an awesome deal! Oh the good 'ol days of massage therapy internship.....

Good luck with your SIM day tomorrow!!

Are you a massage therapist?!

Thanks!

Good luck - I'm confident that your mom skills and medical knowledge will help you feel in control tomorrow. And hopefully the massage will help you sleep super good tonight!

Thank you! I actually think now that I have some sort of pulled muscle in my side. The massage helped me relax, especially my neck, but OUCH, my side!

Good luck with the SIM!!!!

Good luck with the SIM!

Good luck today!

I hope everything goes well for you today!

Thanks, Every one! I'm so, SO happy to have it behind me. Things should even out with busy-ness, and enter a more steady pace. 3 exams, 5 Clinical days, 2 papers, 1 Final, and a few misc. Seminar Days to go in the term. 6 weeks to go, then Spring BREAK!

Yay! Now you can enjoy the weekend! I mean... study, of course... :guilty:

Been going at it from 8-5:30 today. Will hit it again tomorrow. All day. Then I have to go to Clinical on Monday; my last day to study is Tuesday before the Exam on Wednesday.

I HAVE to get a massage this week. I think I'm one wrong move away from a total lock up. Work has been crazy stressful and I've been feeling very tense. I did find out that I'll be moving to another department that will hopefully fall more in line with my interests. There are definite challenges with the new move but I think overall it will be good.

I hope you booked it!!!

And I totally hope that dept shift will work out! When will you be able to make the switch? Being stressed all the time just stinks. My last job was very much like that. I hated to go to work every single day because of some nasty peoples who would just as soon throw you under the bus to get ahead themselves. Made me wanna puke.

WOOT WOOT! CELEBRATE!
In honor of Mardi Gras, Laissez les bon temp rouler!

OUI! OUI!! Went out for a nice dinner with my Nursing Bestie and her hubs on a double date.

That, my friend, deserves a dancing banana party!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

YES! Yes, it does!

So glad to hear this! Your post about the massage made me realize I haven't had one since early December on my cruise and I am way overdue! Me and my cleaning gal, Darcy are going for a spa day on her birthday in mid march, but I need one before that.

Time for another. You should see if there's a massage school near you, and get a deal. Mine was awesome. Not like a pro, and Swedish isn't my favorite (I like Thai a LOT more!), but it eased some stress and felt great.

Fran? It would be super fun, but that's actually pretty funny! Hey @pkondz! We've been confused! :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Must be our similar charm and wit.

I hope that he will come down there and visit! And that I can plan a little visit around the same time. What a hoot that would be.

Well cool. I just confused when you said that if you came to the Pacific Coast you had no real plans to visit Disneyland that you didn't want to come to my area.

I have a place near my house that takes Spafinder gift cards (as does the spa at the GCH) and Fran buys them for a 20% discount online. They have decent technicians there, but sort of a lot of turnover so when I find a good one they never stay very long. I haven't been there since the summer so I'm sure anyone I liked is gone by now. Maybe I'll see if I can get in tomorrow afternoon.

Or her inability to discern when posts change. I think I was trying to show her about the food you ate in Crapistan and the conversation turned to Dim Sum and how you would definitely try it with me when you visited, but Pkondz was the one who was originally going to Dim Sum so it could have been confusing to a non initiated DIS reader. Or your similar charm and wit.

I hope that he will come down there and visit! And that I can plan a little visit around the same time. What a hoot that would be.

I'm always here, and willing to travel throughout the region of So Cal with sufficient notice. Especially once we have our old place all cleaned out!

Maybe I should go back to school and get my Masters to teach.

Then you too could have the satisfaction of terrifying poor students.

I did. Well, mostly. I got through about the 1st 3 sentences of your TR, and went to sleep. Visions of Maui dancing in my head.

::yes:: That sounds about right. My TRs will put anyone to sleep.

I'll get there! Promise.

I know.

Well, you ARE psychotic.

::yes::

Smooooth. Had to look it up; not sure when, if ever, I"ve seen that.

Had to look it up??? But I'm Canadian... you should be skoolin' me!

Let me know if you have/make a plan.

Of course. Right now it's very, very, very, verrrrrrrrry tentative.

Well cool. I just confused when you said that if you came to the Pacific Coast you had no real plans to visit Disneyland that you didn't want to come to my area.

I don't. But I might. Who knows. Doesn't mean I wouldn't swing by your area to see you.

I'm glad that it went well! I guess this means you didn't kill anybody and you didn't leave in tears.

That's exactly what I was thinking! I've seen so many people say it's not the same view being off to the side. I don't want to be my last view of wishes. It needs to be behind the castle :))

And to comment on the massage! Lol it is like an internship in guess. We called it clinicals. We had to give 4-5 hour long massages every other Friday to practice and learn on real people. The school made 25$ off each and we couldn't even take tips! So an intern I guess is a good way to put it haha!

Well, technically Walt's Kingdom is back in Anaheim, this is more Roy's Kingdom, but I know what you mean.

Don't have to, I've done it before, it's awesome! :thumbsup2

I think by 10 days, we are even starting to get homesick and missing our kitties. For me it starts to hit vacation time around day 3 or 4, but sometimes, I still can't lose the "need to do everything" as you will see on this last trip.

Cool. Staying tuned, I'm looking forward to hearing about your choices.

Makes sense!

Funny when I think Ray's I think Burgers and toppings bar.

I think I was one them! :yay:

Well I would love to, if you weren't leaving the day before we arrive. :rolleyes1 On March 16, I need to be in Los Angeles, playing a concert which is why my trip starts on the 18th. :sad2:

How's this?

How's this for another Disney "V"

Ok, Super Team: Last day to get some much needed study time in tomorrow. I'm determined to not let the computer distract me, so I'll say adieu until sometime after 10:00 Wednesday. here's to another 89%!!!! ;)
