Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Well, sad to say that we will be checking out in the morning. We had a great time. I really enjoyed POP. I have no complaints. Busses were great our entire week. Never waited more than 10 minutes. Room was very clean. Staff were excellent. I was worried that my kids may not enjoy it as much as a moderate resort, but they both (11ys and 13yrs old) said that they liked it better than CB. They still like POR but this is a great resort too. I was a little skeptical, but I couldn't have been more pleased. I'm already planning on when we can come back. Thanks for all of the great information on this thread. I hope everyone has a great experience too

how far is the walk from POP to AOA over generation gap?
It depends on where your room is located. But, I was in the 60's section, close to the bridge and it was only a few minute walk. Took about 5 minutes, at a leisurely pace, from our room to the main hall.

Thanks for the positive report ! It makes me feel better about our decision to stay at Pop ! One question ? Have they installed the bus boards ?

I arrive at Pop on 2/15. Is it too late to request a room? If I don't do online check in can I still request a room? I just want a quiet room near the bus stop, as I'm a single female traveling alone. Any recommendations for me? Thanks!

I requested a room in August and got exactly what I wanted. I know I shared my experience with that on here, but obviously it's been months since then. I used a fax template (the one from the POR thread - I changed all the info for Pop). I was very pleased! My DH and I really liked Pop - they gave us what we wanted, and they had very good bus service. We really only had to wait for a bus a few times - and it was bad timing on our part when it happened!

I have booked a stay for Oct 2-10th, for 4 (2 adults and 2 kids ages 13, 17). We have always stayed at moderates, but hoping for free dining and FQ isn't usually included, so we thought we would try a value that would be.

I'm a little worried about the bed situations, my husband is 6'4 and one of my sons is 6'1..both around 195 lbs..will these beds be a tight fit for them?? My youngest son and myself are under 5'3 and on the smaller side.

Also, is there coffee pots in the rooms? If not, any suggestions on what PR would be closest to the nearest coffee station lol. I was going to request a top floor..but that's about as far as I've gotten :)

Thanks so much!

I am a femaie and always go to Disney by myself. I love staying at Pop and never feel uncomfortable. My favorite areas to request are 50s or 60s Lakeside. Those are both standard rate rooms and quiet. I go for the first floor because I don't like bothering with the elevators, but most people request top floor for more quiet. Pop is very well lit. The lakeside rooms are easy to get to by walking through the pool areas then cutting through the middle of the buildings, so not long walks at all. My favorite thing about staying at Pop is that you can also go see AOA across the lake. I usually try to take an AOA bus back in the evening so I can walk back to Pop. Even that walk is considerably shorter than what you would have from a room in a moderate to the main building.

Hope you have a great time. Oh, almost forgot, I would call and put in a room request. It may not be too late.

At Pop now. No cases of water at the store or the food court. I looked for them and asked. No luck.

I am 6'7 and somehow manage to fit into those POP full size beds. It is a tight fit, but I am sure your husband and son will be fine. Unfortunately, there are no coffee makers in the rooms. The food court is the only place to get coffee, so you will want a room close to Classic Hall in the 50's, 60's or 70's. Touringplans.com has a fantastic tool for finding specific rooms numbers.
