Disney Wonder - Galveston to San Jaun - January 20, 2017

Do you recommend more than one night in Galveston? I have never been
That time of year, I would recommend you have at least 1 day to spend in Galveston. If you stay at the Harbor House, you will be close enough to walk to the Strand (great shopping, some history, and an old time candy shop called La Kings). Another fun thing to do is to go to the Pier. They have a small amusement park on it.

We will be staying in Puerto Rico for a few nights after too. My Husband wants to stay in Farjardo for scuba diving. Is anyone familiar with the area?

I think ten cabins is a good amount for me first FE :) I am like you Tink. Obsessive vacation planner lol.
I am still investigating San Juan. This will be our first trip there. If I find any info, I would be glad to pass it on. One thing I did read about that area was the bio-luminescent bay. They say it is a must see.
And thanks for the feed back about the FE size.

How do I put a picture in my profile?
First thing you want to do is go to the top right corner of the page, and find your board name (zoiejmvs). Hover over your name and then click on personal details. This should give you a page similar to the one pictured below. Click where it says to change avatar picture, and you are on your way.avatar insert.JPG

Thank you!!

Hello Everyone :)
What dinner seating to you all prefer? Right now I have the main seating. My last cruise I did late (not a Disney Cruise) This was before I had my daughter. Do you guys know what time the seating's are?

I believe the dinner seatings are at 5:45 and 8:15. I will double check on this though. If I am in error, I will let you know.
As for preferences, it depends on your daughters current eating / sleeping schedule. Personally, 5:45 is to early for my family to eat. Plus you feel rushed during that seating (mainly because the cast members need to get you done, and get reset for the next dinner service).
On our last cruise, our sons girlfriend came with, and she is not a night person. She is usually ready to sleep by 8 PM. We were sure we would get a good picture of her nodding off into her food, but she did well.

Gorgeous!! You have us sold :)
My husband said that I need to quit promoting every place we love, because they are going to sell out and we won't be able to get a room ...LOL!
I'm thinking if we get enough group members staying the night before, we could have a pre-cruise meet. They have a breakfast area that has tables and chairs (with water and tea...I think) that would be perfect for meeting up.
You can look up my review of the Harbor House on Trip Adviser. My screen name there is also Pixiehallow. The review has a tone of pictures of inside the room. If you need a link, just let me know.

Here is a link to a Navigator ( the onboard daily planner) from a 7 night cruise from Galveston. On day 1, page1, in the column of short paragraphs under "All Aboard" (left side) you will see the dinner times (5:45 / 8:15).

I have started a pre-cruise meet under group activities on either post 3 or 4 on the 1st page. Would you like me to add you to it?

I did some research on the Bacardi Factory Tour (the tours they offer, getting there etc.) on San Juan. If anyone is interested in finding out about it, just let me know, I would be happy to share.

Since we just passed the 1 year mark, I thought it would be a good time to look at the weather for our destinations over the next week.

Galveston - Friday : Low - 38; High - 52; Windy and cloudy (a side note today they have a 90 percent chance of rain, but the rest of the week
looks fairly clear).

Cozumel - Sunday: Low - 63; High - 69; Partly cloudy (earlier in the week they had 80 percent chance of thundershowers, but the rest of the
week has only low chances of rain).

George Town, Cayman Island - Monday: Low - 74; High - 79; Partly cloudy w/ a 10 percent chance of rain (Higher chances for rain before we
leave Galveston and the chances increase through out the week). I will continue to watch this week to see how
much it changes.

Falmouth, Jamaica - Tuesday: Low - 74; High - 82; 50 percent chance of rain (few days before say partly cloudy with very low rain chances,
but remainder of the week is 50 percent chance of rain - on the positive side, the temps stay warm).

San Juan, Puerto Rico - Thursday: Low - 72; High - 83; Partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain (the rain chances are about the same
before and after we get there; I have read that much like Orlando, they are always getting pop up showers that blow
over quickly).

Side note: On the Wonder cruise we just returned from in Nov. the captain did a very good job steering us away from the bad weather (storms were predicted in the Gulf for most of our trip). However, the few rain storms and waves we did encounter were unavoidable I am sure. We will just have to remember that the captain and the crew will do their best to keep us under the best conditions, but they, in the end, can not control the weather. So, from the looks of it, we should probably be prepared to have warm clothes for Galveston, medium weight clothes for our first sea day, and possibly Cozumel (I will most likely bring my wet suit for any Cozumel snorkeling), and then it is warm weather clothing from then on.

As long as I am looking at the weather, I might as well look at the water temperatures.

Cozumel: high 70's to low 80's

George Town: high 70's to low 80's

Falmouth: high 80's

San Juan: mid 80's

Here are some pictures for possible group picture.
I am sorry if the quality is not so great. My computer was giving me problems, and I had to go a round about way to upload the pics.
