Yes, the nasal spray has to go in, if it doesn't it will get tested or tossed, depending on the mood of the screener. It's not a prescription, so it's considered part of your total liquid. People who need to bring prescription medication that doesn't fit into the quart bag also get their stuff tested, as does baby formula, etc.

WRONG. It is not considered part of your total liquid. Full disclosure, I work for TSA. Nasal spray like Flonase does not need to be in the quart baggie. It is a medication. Medications are permitted whether they are prescription or not. Liquid Tylenol, for example, is not a prescription, but it is a medication and is allowed and does NOT have to be in the 311 baggie. It will most likely be tested, but that isn't really a big ordeal.

WRONG? If she doesn't put it in her bag, doesn't it get screened like all the other things that aren't in the bag? It happened in front of us at Logan - I think it was contact lens solution. It wasn't in the bag, it got opened and tested.

All medications must be declared. Medications do not count towards your 1 quart sized ziplock baggie. They still must be separated from your bag and shown to a TSA officer before your bag goes into the xray machine.
