The walking dead amc #2

Well, as glad as I am about the outcome, I think it was a cheat and it cheapened the show. I was not surprised at all. I felt that this was the way it would turn out from the beginning.

I feel the same way. Magically all the walkers walked away from the dumpster yet the herd isnt slimming down at all outside of Alexandria? ? I also lol'd when rick said they couldn't shoot the gun because of the noise, but was hammering those nails in with little concern.

I thought overall a good episode. Looking forward to the winter finale and even more to what the second half of the season has in store....Neegan:eek:

I think this had to do with Enid throwing/rolling cans outside. She kind of "distracted" them with the noise, then I imagine there wasn't any noise at all to keep them paying attention to Glen hiding so they just wandered toward the next noise.
As you mentioned, people in Alexandria aren't really being that quiet so the herd isn't likely to go anywhere.

I thought the same thing! I was cracking up as he was whacking the wall loudly. Kind of like when he was yelling at everyone about how important it is to be quiet! I guess you can't hammer quietly, but still, it made me laugh. I really liked that Glenn is alive, but I still feel like it was a dirty trick.

Yes and no...I mean most of the day they are relatively quiet...all night long it would be virtual silence. It isn't a deal breaker, but just is kinda as the pp stated...cheap.

Well, all the theories and speculation I read were turned sideways last night! lol... goes to show that even comic nerds can't predict what's forthcoming!

The YouTube video previously posted here showed Glenn making it under the dumpster. So that wasn't a surprise. I was surprised that Enid happened to be there and help him out. She's such an insignificant character to me that I forgot we were supposed to be wondering where she was. I have no idea how far away Glenn was in relation to ASZ, but what a coincidence it happened to be the place Enid hides out at. That made me a little crazy. I also got irritated with the Glenn/Enid back and forth the whole episode - "You're coming" "No I'm not" "You're scared" "No I'm not" "I'm turning around and leaving, its just like I told you" "No its not". Ok. I don't care about Enid, stop.

Never made the correlation that the Wolves that Morgan let go were the same ones who attacked Rick. Makes sense to me now. I knew Wolves attacked Rick, but didn't realize it was the same people Morgan let loose I guess.

Next week's scenes look to be reminiscent of the mid-season finale when they were at the prison. I believe it was during that season that the herd took over the prison compound and they all had to run out and go their separate ways. I hope that doesn't happen at ASZ. Seems like a lot still needs to happen there.

In the comics, Carl's eye gets shot out and he wears it bandaged. Eventually, Negan makes him remove the bandage I think. So, I suspected Ron would shoot Carl's eye out last night before crap hit the fan with the walkers. I am guessing it's probably still coming soon because that's a significant point for Carl!

I'm not that crazy about Enid either, and I would be fine if we never saw her again. I have had enough of a bratty, moody pre-teen in the apocalypse with Carl!!!! I wonder if they will kill anyone off in the mid season finale. For a second, I though the kid was going to shoot Carl. Now THAT would have been a total shocker out of left field!

Was disappointed Glen was still alive. It really cheapened the show for me. I know the whole thing is fantasy anyway but others on the show died in less worse conditions. They really should have killed him off instead of the impossible happening.

If the show follows the route of the comics, Glenn has a very memorable run-in with Negan that obviously hasn't happened yet. I won't spoil it entirely, but suffice it to say that comic fans have seen foreshadowing of this run-in already throughout the last two seasons or so. Perhaps the writers shouldn't have written in this whole Glenn near death experience with Nicholas, but I suspect it was done to throw the comic fans off track.

I think the herd around Glenn was pretty small and easy to break up. It was like an offshoot of another big one. The herd around the walls is huge, so their sounds alone (without the Alexandrians or hammering haha!) is going to keep drawing more in.

also, after Glenn scooted under the dumpster there were some that were crawling in after him that he killed.... in my reasoning, those 'dead walkers' kinda provided insulation from the other walkers around the dumpster... like covering yourself with the zombie blood.

LOL at walker insulation, but yes! I thought that too. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here, but I say it to my husband every week...in the beginning, scratches were a big deal. Last night with all of them grabbing at Glenn and Spencer, nobody got scratched??? Especially Spencer for the sheer number grabbing at him. It's like they've decided to drop that in the storyline as a potential threat. I still get so nervous about it.

What do folks think about the little plane spin off series that they are showing on the commercial breaks. Way to short... they need to be at least twice as long in my opinion. I think the Asian lady will be the one to join Fear the Walking Dead, she seems to be 'aware' of the zombie sickness.

Yeah, I was OK with that part. They made a point of showing how dehydrated Glenn was so he waited it out for a while. With no noise, the walkers would have finally started moving away from that area.

I anticipated the under the dumpster part but was wondering how they wouldn't reach him under there. The killing the walkers all along the edge to form a barrier makes it a little more believable, but not totally. How did he kill the ones by his feet (there wasn't much room to move), etc? And how was it that none of them took a single bite out of the parts of him that weren't covered by Nicholas? But still, I'm glad that he is alive (for now, LOL).

I was yelling at Rick to stop hammering too ;-) But they had to reinforce the walls. And I totally thought that Carl was about to be shot.

I can't wait for this Sunday's episode now.

I thought it was funny how they were reinforcing the wall with every bit of wood... meanwhile the gatehouse thing is splitting in two with the humongous crack

Could they not hear/see the wood coming off the gatehouse? They are watching up above everything and they don't notice it??? That was a little hokey to me last night.
I like the life lessons though that Rick is being taught - People are questioning him and it is giving him pause, I hope.
I think the voice on the walkie talkie is Rick and it's because the gatehouse has come down. That would be right in line with the time frame of Darryl being in the truck, driving it.
I also have to say, I thought what is supposed to happen to Carl was going to happen last night. Kinda bummed it didn't.

This has been an awesome season to me. I love it and will be sad not to watch it after next week again until what Feb? I hate these long breaks.

I think this plane is supposed to be the plane we see crashing in Fear of the Walking Dead. I thought this was the story behind the crash

I have to ask since you reminded me WHY AREN'T THEY DOING THIS?!!!! The zombie insulation that is. They've done it in the past and it obviously worked so why on earth don't they use this method regularly and especially with the large herds?

Yep, I'm with you. I cannot believe that none of the walkers eating Nick on top of Glenn wouldn't have bit him. The way his body was across Glenn's means his feet and his head torso were completely uncovered...yet no walker bits him. No way. Completely unbelievable.
