Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

Sweet! What would I have won if you were giving out prizes???

A free trip to Disney! But unfortunately I'm not writing a trip report.

Have you ever read Tom Sawyer?

Yes I was forced to read it in grade 8. It wasn't fun. I vaguely remember they walked in on their own funeral but I don't remember any details. I think I've blocked it.

Good idea! I'll call you from prison and let you know how it went!

Awesome! I'll bail you out if you need me to. You know, since it was my idea.

 They were duly embarrassed I presume?

No, they just laughed. They didn't even want the candy they waited for!

So you tell me to not worry that she didn't outgrow it,
but completely gloss over her mysterious eye affliction???

Living in a 2D world isn't as bad as you would think. 3D is really overrated. Who needs depth perception. You save a lot of money not having to pay the extra to see movies in 3D.

See? How are you going to get classic hand to the DD's face shots there???

That's true, once you have that picture all others pale in comparison.

I'll have to remember that!
But to be honest, I had no plans to go to T-Rex. Haven't heard wonderful things.

When it first opened I wondered "who in their right minds would eat there?"... then I had a son who loves dinosaurs. After an hour I couldn't tell the difference between the pteranodons screeching and babies crying. My husband called it a "last date" restaurant. All relationships end after eating there.

Proven by scientists who really know about stuff like that.

You can trust me, I'm a biochemist.

Well, I would never tattle on a lady.

But there was something fishy about her breath.

:lmao:

Hmmmm.... I like where this is going.
Multiple visits to my Princess, huh?

I'm definitely liking this.

If you start the process early enough you should be able to get in at least 25 visits in a day. Be sure to have someone record the interactions so you can watch the progression from friendliness to pure fear on Ariel's face.

Yeah... I know. But I didn't know if they knew that I knew that they should have known.
Ya know?

I understand completely!

Guesses:

Kay woke up at 10:30
Test Track wasted more time with fast pass than single rider
You drank a Grey Goose Slushie (because everyone on the DIS says to, Gran Marnier is better though!)
You use the park hoppers
Dinner is at Via Napoli

Another great update! Always look forward to it being a highlight of the day.

 If that's the highlight of your day, I feel very, very, very sorry for you!

I'm already getting sad that it could be half over:sad:

It was almost more over than that... details later... maybe.

That means you better start planning a trip now (somewhere!) so we won't go through withdrawls::yes::

Ottawa in December, possibly Kansas in August,
New York City in August/September, WDW(?) in October(?)

Just so you know, muiti-quote still hates me. I know I've done it in the past. I highlight it, click quote, it says it's added. When I go down and click insert quotes I get error message "The selected messages could not be found" HUH? I figure I must have done something to computer that messed it up. Did the old copy/paste.

It's not you. I get that too, from time to time.
I'm not sure what it is, but if you exit out of the DIS
(completely if you have more than one tab open)
and then try it, it should work.

I guess I'm the "problem child" of this thread!

I will not argue this point with you.

Yes. Yes you are.

Enough about me.
Because we know it's REALLY ALL ABOUT YOU!

Thanks. I'm glad you noticed.
This is the way it should always be.

Kay too. But since she's not on here, and I can hear you say "not doing the work" You can get the attention.

Exactly! You want the spotlight? Perform in the show!

Once again, get pic while on this ride. I've seen the mandatory shoe shot before and will have to make sure we get one in our album next year

This is one of those things that determine your worth as a DISer.
Failure is not an option.

Did you get FP? Big yes if it was available!

::yes::

Knew you'd get pic proof. Fun that Kay got into the staged one. Maybe next time you could really get alone time, with a pic of only the two of you!

Ooohhh.... and now you've given me an idea for next time!

Yeah for you for choosing the right restaurant!

Woot for me!

Don't know what to do about these kind of places next time since we won't have kids. Never been to CP so it might be nice to try but really not there for the characters. I'm sure I will take pics with some on our trip but not going to go out of my way.

Yep. Just like me. If you'll recall from my solo trip, I didn't do any meets...
well, except for that one with Tink, which was just for the TR.
Otherwise.... I'm good, thanks.

Nice one kay!

She was telling me about it and I didn't know to believe her or not.

Very observant, kind of like when you get to Splash....

:sad2:

When you were making fun of kay, I was thinking...But it is opened, right? I know it's been 10 years but I thought it was. Thought you might have know since you've been there how many time since my last visit? Once again, thank goodness Kay was along!

I watch the CMs and the logs so I don't hold up the line.
No one ever told me to look up!

Beaches and Cream looked sooo good.
Have to admit I went with the crowd on this one because it did seem like a good choice. I first thought you'd make a run for ZDs but knew it wouldn't need a ADR
Don't know if I'll get to do something like that. We have a long list of new for us/old for others to do. I mean I've never been on TSMM!

A run for ZDs would've been good too, but...
Well, been there, done that on the solo trip...

Won't say I didn't miss those little puffs of heaven, though...

You should enjoy TSMM. If you liked Buzz even a little, it's so much better (IMHO).

What a full day you had!

But a good one!
When you're there for a short time, you have to make the most of it, ya know.

That's how I broke Ruby.

Glad to know about getting a cab for the future. Strange, really no change?

Several people have mentioned they thought he was just trying to get all the money.
If so, it sure backfired.

Guesses:
Kay got up at 10:12
FP ride Nemo
Gray Goose Slushie
Did NOT hop
ADR: Teppan Edo

Noted.

Changing bus time to: 49

Noted.

I worked for the mouse and people can be terrible to their kids. Kids are crying and exhausted, just bring them back! The worst was the 24 hour event!

Oh, man. I hadn't even thought about the 24 hour events!
I really wonder... Are these the same people who insist their little one
goes to bed at 8pm back home?

I am south east of you in wildomar, but grew up in downey. we do get heat like az tho lol

I Google Mapped those places too!

read your post about the corndogs to lance and now we are both starting to get inkling to head up there this week lol
but first time to finish up planting our first phase of winter garden

So many things making me shake my head there.
Just popping in to Disney because you feel like a corndog!
And my idea of a winter garden is piling snow up from the driveway!

Season of the Force kicks off tomorrow, that's a great reason to go! We are!

You people are killing me!

So when was it that that happened. I think there's gotta be, well, hopefully there is, a story to this.

No, not really. I've never been punched for saying something.
Well, not since I was a kid, anyway.

But my mouth has definitely gotten me into trouble!

Does she have to grow a tail too?

Nah. Not my own kid.
It'd be cool though.

I just point out the obvious. I actually had to use that line a fair amount in Crapistan. I'd ask if their wives would be joining us for dinner too... Worked every time.

 I'd have loved to see their faces when you did that!

We all have our talents. Good to be good at something, right?

I excel at being an idiot.

I'm suspicious of EVERYONE for a while....

Except me, right?

Right?

right?

A free trip to Disney!

YES!!!!! I won! I won! I won, I won, I won!

But unfortunately I'm not writing a trip report.

oh

Yes I was forced to read it in grade 8. It wasn't fun. I vaguely remember they walked in on their own funeral but I don't remember any details. I think I've blocked it.

Yep. They listened to the eulogy first then marched up the aisle.

Awesome! I'll bail you out if you need me to. You know, since it was my idea.

That's really nice of you!

Wait...

Living in a 2D world isn't as bad as you would think. 3D is really overrated. Who needs depth perception. You save a lot of money not having to pay the extra to see movies in 3D.

Wow! Never thought of that. Maybe I should start wearing a pirate eyepatch.
That could be my moniker.
"Pirate patch pkondz"

Has a nice ring to it....
No. Skip that. I don't want a nose ring.

That's true, once you have that picture all others pale in comparison.

Maybe... I just got a thought a few minutes ago.

Hey! Don't knock it! They seldom happen!

When it first opened I wondered "who in their right minds would eat there?"... then I had a son who loves dinosaurs.

::yes:: You answered your own question, alright.

After an hour I couldn't tell the difference between the pteranodons screeching and babies crying.

That's what I'd heard. Noisy!!

My husband called it a "last date" restaurant. All relationships end after eating there.

:lmao:

You can trust me, I'm a biochemist.

That's not what Sheldon Cooper says.

If you start the process early enough you should be able to get in at least 25 visits in a day. Be sure to have someone record the interactions so you can watch the progression from friendliness to pure fear on Ariel's face.

I really wonder now what would happen.
I mean, you're not doing anything wrong, right?
They couldn't kick you out for it, could they?

"Hi! I'm Ariel!"
"Hi! Didn't I see you before?"
"Hi! You again! Ha, ha!"
"Uh... Hi! You must really like me!"
"Um. Hello... Again?"
"... hi..."
"......."
"OMG. Not again?"
"Okay, this is getting creepy."

And thus continues her descent into hell.

Guesses:

Let's see... where were we...
Well if memory serves, y’all were at MK.

I was laid out flat on my back trying to remember how to make my arms and legs work.
As such I’m very late getting back to this party. Let’s see if I can catch up before the next update.

Not revisited my meal on Tea Cups?
Good thing too…
Technicolor Tea Cups would not have been a particularly desirable outcome.

plan B involved me setting fire to something
and sending out smoke signals.
IASW has plenty of kindling…
Just sayin’.

Just for the heck of it, we wove our way towards Space Mountain.
Didn’t see that coming…
I thought SM was a Big No-No for you.

Oh who am I kidding; if my young’en desired it, I’d endure it.

The good news? There was no wait whatsoever!
The bad news? There was no wait because the ride was down.
Yep… missed those points.
I didn’t have y’all on that side of the park for previously noted reasons.

It was originally the WEDway Peoplemover.
“Ain't that right, Uh-Huh?”

possibly because people don't know what WED stands for,
then name it the Walter Elias Disney Peoplemover!
Weeeeeeeeell…
yes and no.

Now I could be wrong (I often am), but I believe in this instance it’s technically named in honor of WED Enterprises (which does include the initials obviously). However, that was the name of the secret development group Walt set up on the side to get around Roy and the stock holders and start developing his first park. Everyone else now referees to those folk as working for Imagineering (a term Walt latter pilfered for Alcoa believe it or not).

But either way, it’s good to know one’s history.

And then the piece de resistance.
(And yes, I'm sure you've seen photos like this before...
but it was still cool to see it in person.)
wizard-behind-curtain1.jpg

It wasn't three o'clock yet, so I suggested taking a spin on COP.
Kay was game.... I told her it was air conditioned.
I’m told it was just a touch warmish so cold air is good…
Sitting for a spell is good too.

Even though it was hot, we're smiling.
Probably because she has her hand on my bum.
Sure that’s the story you wan’a be goin’ with here?

I've followed Courtney for a little while now
(Wow! Does that ever sound stalkerish!)
Well if it didn’t at first, the previous “hand on my bum” comment kind’a got that snowball running down the mountain side.

And you want to know the weird thing?
It's only now as I type this that it suddenly occurs to me.
She said she was stopping at Starbucks...
Where's her drink?
Sooooo… She didn’t poor it down your backside?

She also swings a baton and cracks heads for crowd control at parades.
41LZvz4vqxL.jpg

I believe she said she actually prefers the latter,
because it gives her more chances to interact with guests.
Interact… subjugate… two side of the same coin.

No, Kay wanted a yard stick full of coloured sugar.
Got’a feed that inner six-year-old, ya know.

What can I say about 7DMT.
You’ll think of something.

BTMRR. That's a priority!
More of a moral imperative.

I think either the ride has to stand still or the dwarves do.
Everybody just stop moving for one second!....
Yeah, but then the heat might catch up with you.
Better to just keep going.

For some reason, she didn't reach up and try to grab the gems
like she did when she was four.
Wonder why not?
Just a little bit less “wonder” I suppose

Kay had said she wanted a buffet meal…
Another nice bit of information to have had…

(I guessed correctly. Points for me! Say Yay! and you'll get points!)
Yay!

{never ignore free points… I need ‘em to catch back up as it is}

Now I'm not big into characters (gasp!)
and neither is Kay (double gasp!)
Thus my incorrect choice on this particular venue.
Pretty good grub though, so it’s a win for y’all.

Okay, take a moment to catch your breath.
no, no… I’m with you.

You want to interact with pkondz?
Get a FP.
Or read his TRs…
That option is more cost effective (and nearly as entertaining)

I'm on vacation! Calories don't count!
Another moral imperative.
Calories consumed while eating over the sink don’t count either, by the way.
Just so ya’ know.

a sugar overload is a definite possibility.
It's a slippery slope from "I'll just have one..."
to "I'll just have one of each..."
to "I'll just take each tray."
Well see there!
You basically got to experience the net result of the Wishes Desert Party.
It’s all good, now.

After supper, it was time for our next Fastpass.

Ahhhhh..... My princess.
No points for you…
I mean me… errr… whatever.

Next!

Ariel. Complete with fish tail, of course.

And Clam Shells (or this thread would be receiving a ratting a bit beyond PG)

I’m assuming she’d sobered up a mite by now as well.
(but then again, it might have been an even more interesting interaction if that weren’t the case)

And wouldn't you know it.
Kay just had to try and butt in!
I mean... what the heck? This is my princess!
Get your own!
Kids these days…

It's really a wonder after that first one, that any more are ever reproduced.
Well considering the mechanics involved… no, it’s really not that surprising.
There are things in this universe that are quite capable of quickly drowning out otherwise rational thought processes.

Notice how Ariel's hand is possessively clutching my arm?
It's obvious, isn't it?
We were meant to be.
Now I’m not so sure which one of you it was that was actually soused back there in the last chapter.

Ariel didn't want me to leave and may have cried at my departure.
I had to be strong, for both of us.

It was not easy.
A regular martyr, you are.

We did not save the Galaxy.
Ehhh… you aim was off a bit.
You were emotionally compromised up by the forced separation from your true love, I suspect.

Pop over to Splash and.... 25 minutes wait?
Oh, we can do that! Easy!
Except it wasn't.
It took twice that time.
50 minutes in line for Splash!
Apparently someone didn’t turn in their red card for that attraction.

I never said I was smart.
The truest truths are the unspoken ones.

A smart-a... uh... smart-alec, sure.
Like that one for instance.

When a mother with toddler came on, I gave her my seat.
‘Cause that’s what you do.

Beaches and Cream!
Yummmmmmm!

So we came knowing we were going to order the Kitchen Sink.
And now that we were here!!!!
We just weren't feeling it.
It was that yard of sugar that did it…

Don’t blame you actually.
There’s plenty on the menu that will do even better.
The sink is really just there so that folks can say that they did it.
Better to go for quality.

Kay ordered the Fudge Mudslide while I had the No Way Jose.
21963550.jpg

I handed the driver a twenty and told him to give me $10 back.

He didn't have any change.
Whoops…
Something to keep in mind if I ever try that trick down there.

Is it just me? Or is that weird? For a cab driver?
It’s all going digital. Would he have taken a credit card?

We stumbled up to our room
Current yo-yo stair climb tally: 7 to 3

What time does Kay wake up?
Hint: It ain't early.
9:45

What ride do we go on that costs us time
because we FP'd it?
Hummmm… I think there’s probably going to be some back story to this one…
Let’s try Spaceship Earth.

What drink has been on my list for ages...
And I finally drink (for the first time.)
Gott’a be that Grand Marnier Slushie

We have park hoppers.
Do we use them today?
I say: yes, yes you do.

And finally... lots of choices here.
Where's our Dinner ADR for?
Holy Cow!
Nothing to limit that choice; could be anything.

Ummmm… Via Napoli
(dang! I’m already sure that’s wrong)

Good luck!
We’re gonn’a need it.

.

Well if memory serves, y’all were at MK.

Ah! Got it now. Thanks.

I was laid out flat on my back trying to remember how to make my arms and legs work.
As such I’m very late getting back to this party. Let’s see if I can catch up before the next update.

I'm aware of the situation.
How are you're hands now? Still tingling?
Are you mostly back or is your back mostly not?

Good thing too…
Technicolor Tea Cups would not have been a particularly desirable outcome.

And yet it sounds so pretty!!!

IASW has plenty of kindling…
Just sayin’.

I like where you're going with this.

Didn’t see that coming…
I thought SM was a Big No-No for you.

Oh who am I kidding; if my young’en desired it, I’d endure it.

It was a no-no on my solo trip yes.
But I'd had a stiff neck that was just getting better.
This time it was fine, ergo. SM is fine.

Interesting stuff. I have no idea if you're right or not, of course.
But it's still his initials, so.... leave it alone!

I didn't see nuttin'.

I’m told it was just a touch warmish so cold air is good…
Sitting for a spell is good too.

Really? Gee, that sounds like a good idea!
Why didn't I think of that?

Don't answer that.

Sure that’s the story you wan’a be goin’ with here?

Until she shows up to refute it?

Sure!

Well if it didn’t at first, the previous “hand on my bum” comment kind’a got that snowball running down the mountain side.

Yeah, I suppose the two do kind of go hand in bum... Hand!
Hand in hand!

Sooooo… She didn’t poor it down your backside?

Didn't want to get her hand wet.

Ah! I see you've met her too!!

Interact… subjugate… two side of the same coin.

Interrogate.

That's Interact and subjugate combined.

Got’a feed that inner six-year-old, ya know.

That doesn't explain why I didn't do it!

You’ll think of something.

Nope.

More of a moral imperative.

Shoot. That leaves me out then.
I'm immoral.

I asked the Genie to be "immortal" but I guess he didn't hear me right.

Yeah, but then the heat might catch up with you.
Better to just keep going.

Yeah, good point.
I'll keep the crappy pictures.

Another nice bit of information to have had…

You could've just asked, ya know.

Yay!

{never ignore free points… I need ‘em to catch back up as it is}

And yet, surprisingly not everyone does.

Thus my incorrect choice on this particular venue.
Pretty good grub though, so it’s a win for y’all.

Yeah, who says you need to interact with characters?
It's not a rule, is it?

Or read his TRs…
That option is more cost effective (and nearly as entertaining)

Actually, bad as it is, it's more entertaining.
I can't think of anything more dull than me in person.

Another moral imperative.
Calories consumed while eating over the sink don’t count either, by the way.
Just so ya’ know.

Oh! Well, I guess I can get rid of that dining room table now.

Frees up room for a pool table.

Sweet.

Well see there!
You basically got to experience the net result of the Wishes Desert Party.
It’s all good, now.

Without the explosions or music or lights.

Yup. Pretty much the same.

And Clam Shells (or this thread would be receiving a ratting a bit beyond PG)

And here I was trying to be discreet.

And then you come along with your big boots of obviousness!

I’m assuming she’d sobered up a mite by now as well.
(but then again, it might have been an even more interesting interaction if that weren’t the case)

I picture her swinging those clamshells over her head
while hooting at the top of her voice.

Well considering the mechanics involved… no, it’s really not that surprising.
There are things in this universe that are quite capable of quickly drowning out otherwise rational thought processes.

True.

Now I’m not so sure which one of you it was that was actually soused back there in the last chapter.

I swear, your Honour. I never touched a drop!

A regular martyr, you are.

It wasn't easy on her... but it had to be done.
I understand she still hasn't gotten over it.

Ehhh… you aim was off a bit.
You were emotionally compromised up by the forced separation from your true love, I suspect.

Yeah... that's it. Yeah.
My sucking at it has nothing to do with it.

Apparently someone didn’t turn in their red card for that attraction.

:lmao:

The truest truths are the unspoken ones.

I don't get it.

Don’t blame you actually.
There’s plenty on the menu that will do even better.
The sink is really just there so that folks can say that they did it.
Better to go for quality.

That's what I've been told.
It just becomes a big bowl of soup after a bit.

I really liked my choice.

Thanks. I thought so too.

It’s all going digital. Would he have taken a credit card?

Oh, I'm sure he would... but he wouldn't take a Magic Band, oddly enough.
And that or cash were his two choices.

Current yo-yo stair climb tally: 7 to 3

I'm losing this competition.

How are you're hands now? Still tingling?

Slowly improving…
I’m optimistic, but it may be some time before everything is the way it ought to be.

Why didn't I think of that?

Don't answer that.

Yeah, I suppose the two do kind of go hand in bum... Hand!
Hand in hand!
Dr. Freud will see you now.

Interrogate.

That's Interact and subjugate combined.
Kind’a adds a new depth of understanding to the notion of being questioned, don’t it?

That doesn't explain why I didn't do it!
Yeah…
That’s one’s a bit of a mystery

Ask Sigmund about it while you’re in his office.

You could've just asked, ya know.
I could’ve?
OK, let’s test that theory…

So, Ponzi…, which of the various restaurants at Epcot was Kay really interested in trying out?

I can't think of anything more dull than me in person.
I can…
That’d likely be me in person.

Oh! Well, I guess I can get rid of that dining room table now.

Frees up room for a pool table.

Sweet.
Yep!
Quite the revolution, ain’t it?

I picture her swinging those clamshells over her head
while hooting at the top of her voice.
And had I not employed those “obvious boots”, this excellent visual might never have seen the light of day.

You’re welcome.

I swear, your Honour. I never touched a drop!
I’ll bet you fink… <hic>… I’m under the alfluance of incahol…

I'm losing this competition.
Loosing?
No, no, you lost it the day your first kid was born.

Just like all the rest of us.

Slowly improving…
I’m optimistic, but it may be some time before everything is the way it ought to be.

Good to hear.
Any improvement is good.

Perfect.

Dr. Freud will see you now.

Again? Geez, I just saw him yesterday!
I could've sworn it was supposed to be just every other day.

Huh.

Kind’a adds a new depth of understanding to the notion of being questioned, don’t it?

::yes::

Yeah…
That’s one’s a bit of a mystery

Ask Sigmund about it while you’re in his office.

I did... But all he ever says is that it's my Mother's fault.

I could’ve?
OK, let’s test that theory…

So, Ponzi…, which of the various restaurants at Epcot was Kay really interested in trying out?

The one where her favourite dish is at, of course.

I can…
That’d likely be me in person.

We'd make a wonderful match.
Two grown men, big grins, hand shakes all around...
Then... dead silence interspersed with the occasional burp
or inappropriate scratching.
Eventually they just wander off in opposite directions.

Yep!
Quite the revolution, ain’t it?

But then it's tough to watch TV.

And had I not employed those “obvious boots”, this excellent visual might never have seen the light of day.

You’re welcome.

Appreciate it.

I’ll bet you fink… <hic>… I’m under the alfluance of incahol…

In a state of inebriation.

No, no, you lost it the day your first kid was born.

Just like all the rest of us.

This is very true.
And horrible.

No, not really. I've never been punched for saying something.
Well, not since I was a kid, anyway.

But my mouth has definitely gotten me into trouble!

Well, dang. I was hoping to read a juicy story before I tucked in for the night on this pre-test Eve.

 I'd have loved to see their faces when you did that!

I'm sure you would've! Priceless!

Except me, right?

Right?

right?

<cricket> <cricket> <cricket>

Right. Or better yet, with hopes of October working out, I'll reserve judgement.

This "pre-test" (ie falling asleep) is turning out to be a difficult one. Anxiety is winning.... Thankfully there is internets to distract until the Ambu(ien)lance shows up.

So. There's bad news.

A few days ago, I was on my laptop doing this 'n that.
I had Photoshop open, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, maybe some other stuff too.

I tried to move the mouse to click on something and... nothing.
"Hmm. That's odd." I thought. "Probably just lagging."
Sure enough, after a second the mouse began to move again.

And that lasted for less than 10 seconds.

The mouse froze again.

And then it happened.
The BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH.

I may have gasped.
I didn't scream (Ruby was sleeping right beside me) but I wanted to.

"Okay, don't panic. Reboot."

And it rebooted no problem.
Well, except instead of my windows desktop, I had a black screen.

I shut it off for the night.

The next day... I was busy.
I brought it to work with me on the Midnight shift.
And I got it running! And it only took me...

Three and a half hours.

:sad2:

Okay, it was a pain, but it's up and running.

And thank goodness!
I have about a year's worth of photos on this thing that I haven't backed up yet!
Including four photo shoots and... all the photos for the TR.

Now that it's up and running, that's job #1!

That afternoon (after getting some sleep) I grabbed my external drive
and plugged it into the laptop.
I had a little scare when it didn't connect.
I unplugged and plugged it back in and... Yes!
Good to go.

So I happily went about backing up my photos.
(As it turns out, I hadn't backed up since 2013!)
I got as far May 2015 when...

Blue screen.
A schwack of text... culminating in "Emergency disk dump".

That can't be good.
And it wasn't.

I had the day off today.
I started working on the laptop first thing, around 8:30am.
It took a few hours (about 3 again) before I got to the point where
I had a glimmer of hope.
Windows was repairing itself. Yay!

Hold on. Not so fast.
I got a brand spanking new message.
Something like "Unable to repair Windows".

This is not a good thing.

I kept working on it and finally... around 3pm...
I (sort of) got it running.

It doesn't look quite right... but... I don't care!
As long as I can get my pictures onto the external drive!

Try connecting the external drive... nope.
I tried for about 30 minutes and finally.... Yes!

I think... think... it's a heating issue.
It gets too hot and... poof!

So... all photos backed up.
And bonus. Because I'm scared to turn off my laptop,
I've gotten all the photos for the TR uploaded to Photobucket.

So the bad news?
I was very, very seriously considering ending the TR.
Wouldn't be much point with no photos, now.

But... Sorry folks.
Looks like you'll have to put up with me for a while longer.

The show will go on.

Shows are good. Riveting tale too. Drama. Suspense. Horror. Beginning, middle and end. Check!

Now, I can sleep well knowing there will be more show. G'Night! :)

And then it happened.
The BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH.

I did... But all he ever says is that it's my Mother's fault.
Yeah, Sigmund is a bit of a broken record with that particular diagnoses.
Tell him about all the other voices in your head...
I've found that usually gets him sidetracked for a while.

The one where her favourite dish is at, of course.
Touche!

I get it...
It's like playing 20 questions with a pre-teen.

OK, so whats Kay's favorite dish?...
When traveling?...
In Florida?...
In the summer?...
In the general vicinity of Epcot?...

We'd make a wonderful match.
Two grown men, big grins, hand shakes all around...
Then... dead silence interspersed with the occasional burp
or inappropriate scratching.
Eventually they just wander off in opposite directions.
 :lmao: Frightening...

And mostly because, that's precisely how I'd have pictured it as well.

But then it's tough to watch TV.
Just hang one on the wall right over the pool table.
Install a kegerator while you're at it and you'll have basically converted the kitchen/dinning area into your own private sports bar (and the calories consumed while eating over the sink still don't count).

This is very true.
And horrible.
And yet...
As parents and dads, we wouldn't have it any other way.

The show will go on.
Quite the tale of woe...
Excellent work on your part to nurse that brick up to the point of getting the back-up pulled off.
I've had to yank a couple of hard-drives and wire them up like external storage devices to save data before.
It's still scary when your P/C squats like that though.

Time for a new laptop (and the pain of the unexpected expense).

But most importantly...
We get more pkondz TR.

Winning!
