Wet, Sweat, Fun & Sun But You Have HOW Many Snack Credits Left?

I missed your surgery post, thought I had posted earlier and don't see it. Anyway, I hope you are healing better now. Fun pics on your resort dsy! There is so much to see there!

I have never seen photos of the Food Court at AoA before, so THANK YOU!! We'll be eating a couple of meals there, and it's always nice to know what to expect. Hope you are doing well!

Catching up! So sorry to hear Shyann wasn't feeling well. Boo. But seems like a good move that you took the day off that day to rest. I loved walking from Pop to Art of Animation. So fun. You really got some great resort pics and it seemed like the kids loved exploring! Their food court was great for lunch, we did burgers too - the crab cake sandwich was awesome.

I hope your surgery went well and that you are healing up!

Wow those burgers look really good. I am really hoping to do a day of resort hoping when we go. IF we go. Everything has been so crazy I am not counting on it till it gets a few months out. We have to make our ADRS in December but until we actually by the airfare and tickets I won't get excited cuz we have had to cancel before. But praying it works out. But anyway I really want to see AOA as it wasn't there last time as well as some others and check out the new Disney Springs.

So sorry to hear you are still having troubles. When I had my colon surgery they sent me home and it was stupid because mine was outpatient but probably should have been IN patient because I was really not doing well and my surgery was in the morning and by the evening my mom was the only one left waiting and I was pretty sick. They said they could admit me but I should have said yes cuz ended up in the ER the very next day. It too me a LONG time to recover from that surgery but I have done pretty well with this one. I hope you get to feeling better but just fyi my stomach is STILL numb 2 months later so just so you know it could take a while!

The burgers were very good & cooked to order.....so it takes a little time to get them, but well worth it if you have the time!!

Still numb and having trouble sitting but getting upright a little more.....unfortunately, Michayla has had a stomach bug for the last 5 days and now I have it.....so not helping my recovery.

I hope you get better really soon, take care of yourself

Thank you.....luckily I have lots of help and am getting to rest when needed.

Love your trip, report so far, I will continue to follow along and catch up. We are going for the in Aug for the first time in that month. We have been in November, May, and June. We love staying at POP century it is our favorite! It will be myself my two daughters 7, and 9 and my little sister 12.

FUN!! Welcome also!! August was SOOOOOOOO hot & humid.......blech :p Pop Century was a fun resort to stay at and fit our needs.

Glad you shared more about AOA, can't wait for my trip in May.
Also happy your feeling a little better now. Rest up

Thanks Michele! I still have more AofA that I hope to get posted soon. I just wish I could sit without pain......ugh!

Slowly but surely I'm getting better, thank you! AofA was fun to look around at....just wish it hadn't been so darned hot!

I have never seen photos of the Food Court at AoA before, so THANK YOU!! We'll be eating a couple of meals there, and it's always nice to know what to expect. Hope you are doing well!

The burgers were very tasty, just allow time for them to cook them to order. Delicious!!

Shy sure struggled in Florida and I doubt we'll be in a rush to try and take her back unfortunately. The walk from Pop to AofA was very convenient....we should have ventured over there again for another meal.....just to mix things up! I thought about getting the crab cake but I have issues with gluten & didn't want to chance a gut ache.

Hey all, back to give another update!!

After a delicious burger lunch at the Art of Animation, we continued touring the grounds. This is the Lion King area.

I ended up loving this area more than I thought I would.....I just wish it hadn't been so darned hot & humid. I would have loved to continue on and go over to the Little Mermaid section.....but we needed to get Shy out of the heat.

We headed back out through the Finding Nemo area to reach the bridge between Art of Animation & the Pop Century Resorts. These are from that section & the pool area.

Heading back over to our resort.

I've always loved Baloo!! This was across from our rooms, on the other side of the pool.

These were our rooms and the view from the window. Perfect location!!

We got back to our rooms and the kids wanted to swim again, so we headed out to the pool as the skies darkened around us. It started to rain and we stayed in the pool and we got the biggest laugh at the people who ran for cover........ummmmm, it's just rain people! As far as I knew, we were already wet from the pool, so what's a little rain?? They will clear the pools if there is lightening anywhere within a 10 miles radius, so I knew we were safe. Just funny........

After a "wet" swim......we went back to the rooms to clean up and get dressed for dinner. We headed out to the bus to head to the Magic Kingdom and the Polynesian Resort for our dinner at Ohana's! I played with the girls hair and added some color.

We took the resort launch boat over to the Poly and came across the evening smores on the beach for the resort guests. Fun!

We made our way inside the resort and waited to check in (which actually took longer than our pager going off to be seated) and then took a quick seat to wait.

These are pictures from inside the restaurant.

More of our Ohana dinner. The chef came out and spoke to us about the allergens, so Shy & I got special wings & plates of vegetables, rice & rolls. (no noodles or potstickers or the beef.....I had something to do with the marinade.....also no peanut sauce dipping for Shy)

We had to get the alcoholic drink in the pineapple..........num num!!

Derek with our waiter & the skewer of deliciousness!!

The dessert for everyone (but Shy & I) was the bread pudding.

Shy & I got our own special desserts.

After a very delicious dinner (and filling).....we took the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom so we could catch the bus back to Pop Century. These are pictures Mike got.

We got to the bus stop area in time to grab a spot to watch the fireworks.

After the fireworks, we got in line for the bus & then back to the resort to call it a day.

Love the color in the girls' hair!

Looks like a delicious dinner and a great end to your day with the fireworks. Funny about the running from the rain at the pool! I probably wouldn't stay real long, I like to read by the pool so that would cramp my style.

Nice update. So great to see you back. I hope you are feeling better. I have been worried about you!! LOVE the AofA resort and really hoping that we have time to tour some of the resorts when we go esp this one. At this point the trip is still so up in the air. All we have done is our timeshare booked and I have to start making ADRS in December but as I mentioned before until we actually have airfare it won't seem real so it is hard to get excited. Not to mention we have never gone in the summer and I am so apprehensive. While I want to go SO badly we have never gone that time of year and our first trip we did go in May and it was super hot THEN. I am worried about the heat as I don't do well in it. Usually gives me migraines etc. Plus I still feel really uncertain about how to book everything since we aren't staying onsite either. I am afraid we won't get any of the dinning or FP's that we want. Oh well guess we will just have to see. But at this point the plan is to fly down on my birthday which is June 3rd. The girls last day of school is the 2nd so we will hopefully fly that day and then go someplace fun at DTD for dinner to celebrate. It is still up in the air where we will stay that night as we technically can't check into our timeshare till Saturday. The way they work is you get them from Sat to Sat. But we may try to see if we can get in a night early. If not we will prob stay for one night at one of the DTD hotels. But anyway then again it all depends if my dad goes but if he does then on Saturday they will prob play golf and that is the day I think Katy and I will go resort hoping and then end up at DTD. That is really our only available day as we start our park days on Sunday and go non-stop till the following Sat. So hoping it all works out because esp AOA I would love to see and take pics!!!

Love the Ohana pics and we love that place AND the Poly. I would LOVE to stay there or Wilderness lodge but doubt that will ever happen because of the cost. Our very first trip we stayed in the contemporary because Shane was still in the Army and we put in for Shades of Green but it was unavailable so they put us at contemporary. We got a garden room and it was super far away. It didn't seem that great to me either for the price although I have heard that Bay Lake is really nice but def my least fave of those 4 there. We always love to go and look around at each of them though!! We have done Ohana twice I believe and love the food. Not sure if we will go there this trip but we shall see. I think we are going to try for Calif Grill again. We have done that once or twice as well and loved it.

Anyway so glad you are up and around and as always looking forward to your next installment. :)

Glad to see another update. Thanks for sharing. Great pictures. I love Ohana. It's one of my must do restaurants when we go.

So since I wrote yesterday I met with mom and we called and were able to get an extra night in our timeshare for only 136 bucks. That is a deal. it is a 2 bedroom with a living room 2 baths, full kitchen and laundry. So not only was it a deal but we won't have to pack up and switch the next day which is awesome!!! Anyway we also decided that for the first night which is my birthday we are going to do Fultons in DTD again. I had hoped to try something new but didn't really see anything so maybe they are not on the list but I like Fultons so it is all good. Then Saturday is up in the air because that is just an open day to look at resorts and go to DTD. Probably will have to go get our groceries that morning etc so we don't really know and will probably just have to eat at one of the local chains that is there by the grocery store. But anyway for our 2 days in Epcot we are going to do Le Cellier and Chefs de France. No lunch ressies and we will be eating bfast at the time share every day. Here is where it gets tricky though. I seriously doubt we will get into BOG on the first try. I am going to try and do breakfast lunch or dinner for both days whatever I can get but my question is if we DON'T get anything on the first go round at 180 days do you know if we book something else and I end up scoring BOG later can I reserve two dinners on the same night if they are at different times? I want to make sure we have SOMETHING but I wasn't sure how that worked. So in other words if BOG opens up can I book that and then cancel whatever we have scheduled??? In the meantime I am going to book Tony's at MK for one night and Ohana for the other and will give up one of them if needed for BOG. Then on our HS day we are going to do lunch at Brown Derby and just quick serve for dinner and our AK day we are going to go to California Grille at the Contemporary. So those are what we have on the schedule and I know they may change but just thought I would share with you since you know all the fun and frustration of that LOL.

We also have decided we are going to stay at the Cabana Bay at Universal. It is like the All Stars at DW. My mom likes fancy but not the prices so we are going to have to get that booked probably as soon as I get the dinning. And we are also going to do a day at Typhoon lagoon.

So that is the plan anyway and I am pretty sure THIS time barring any problems we should be able to go. Hopefully mom's surgery will be a success and with moving our offices hopefully the money won't be an issue.

Anyway just wanted to share my plans with you as I know you can relate and I am super bad at trip reports LOL. Anyway hope you are well and look forward to your next installment!!

Keep trying for BOG even after 180 days because people cancel. They also are now available for breakfast and I managed to get a Breakfast at BOG! I also with just playing with the dining checking every meal/day was able to get CRT! Best of Luck!

Yum! The food at Ohana's looks good

It was really good.....and LOTS of it!!

The girls loved their bright colored hair items!! Very good dinner & was fun seeing the fireworks with no crowds!! I could understand the people at the pool that were sunning, reading, socializing, drinking, etc......it was the ones in the pool that cracked us up!

I'd love to do California Grill but knew it wasn't in the cards with this group. Hoping to do an anniversary trip some year with just Mike & I and we can do that and go see some of the nightlife on the Boardwalk, etc.

Glad to see another update. Thanks for sharing. Great pictures. I love Ohana. It's one of my must do restaurants when we go.

It was really good & even the gluten-free (and all the other allergies we have) items were tasty.

Yay on the plans moving forward. I wouldn't worry about BOG yet. You'd be surprised........people cancel and with them offering lunch & breakfast (if they're still doing that)......lots of people will opt for the cheaper and quicker meal over a sit down. I bet you can get a ressie!

When is your moms surgery?

Keep trying for BOG even after 180 days because people cancel. They also are now available for breakfast and I managed to get a Breakfast at BOG! I also with just playing with the dining checking every meal/day was able to get CRT! Best of Luck!

That's what I did to get better times & such. Checked when ever I had the time to pop on the website and look. Lots of people change their plans which opens up reservations. If I was able to get all our wanted ressies for 8 people....you should be able to get yours for a smaller group.

Glad to hear from you! Hope you are feeling better! I'm getting excited…55 Days for me!

It was really good.....and LOTS of it!!

Yea I am not too worried. I just was not sure if I could make alternate and then when BOG opens up if I could make that one before I gave up the first if that makes sense. I still don't really know how it all works. Mom's surgery is Nov 17th.
